The optimization of the performance of a single-stage Linde-Hampson refrigerator （LHR） operating with six different binary refrigerants （R23/R134a, R23/R227ea, R23/R236ea, R170/R290, R170/R600a and R170/R600） with ozone depletion potentials （ODPs） of zero was conducted using a new approach at the temperature level of-60℃. Among these binary refrig- erants, the 0.55 and the 0.6 mole fractions of R23 for R23/R236ea are the most prospective nonflammable ones for the medium and low suction pressure compressors, respectively. For these two kinds of compressors, the 0.6 and the 0.65 mole fractions of R170 for R 170/R600, respectively, are the most prospective binary refrigerants with low global warming potentials （GWPs）. The results of optimization of pressure levels indicate that the optimum low pressure value for coefficients of performance （COP） is achieved when the minimum temperature differences occur at both the hot and the cold ends of the recuperator at a specified composition and pressure ratio. Two useful new parameters, the entropy production per unit heat recuperated and the ratio of heat recuperating capacity to the power consumption of the compression, were introduced to analyze the exergy loss ratio in the recuperator. The new approach employed in this paper also suggests a promising application even to the optimization of the performance with multi-component refrigerants.

Powder River Basin(PRB)coal,which accounts for over 40%of the coal consumed for power generation in the United States,was investigated for preparation of coal water slurry(CWS).The static stability and rheology of the CWS were characterized as a function of *** coal loading was varied from 30%to 50%and both ionic(sodium polystyrene sulphonate(PSS))and nonionic(Triton X-100)surfactants were employed as *** addition of PSS to PRB slurries was found to yield poor static *** the other hand,Triton X-100 was found to be an effective surfactant,reducing the sedimentation by more than 50%compared to the one without surfactant in 45%*** Triton X-100 reduces the viscosity of the CWS for coal loadings of30%and 40%.Although the viscosities for coal loading of 42.5%and 45%are higher when Triton X-100 is added,the static stability is significantly better than for samples without *** highest coal loading for PRB slurry with acceptable viscosity for pumping is 42.5%.

Effect of Nurse-Assisted Early Warning Intervention for Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism Following Cesarean Delivery

Objective To assess the role of a nurse-assisted early warning intervention in improving prophylaxis against obstetric venous thromboembolism(VTE)and preventing VTE following cesarean delivery(CD).Methods A prospective cohort study conducted between January 1,2020,and December 30,2022,enrolled pregnant women who underwent CD in the obstetric unit of Women’s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University,Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care *** patients were assigned to a control group(routine nursing care)or the intervention group(nurse-assisted early warning intervention)depending on whether or not the nurse-assisted early warning intervention had been ***χ2 test and Student’s t-test were used for statistical *** primary outcome was the incidence of systemic VTE following CD,and secondary outcomes were the rates of mechanical or pharmacologic prophylaxis receipts for VTE and the frequency and severity of adverse events related to pharmacologic *** A total of 27,074 cases were *** incidence of symptomatic VTE following CD was significantly lower in the intervention group(0.29 per 1000 deliveries)than in the control group(2.4 per 1000 deliveries)(P<0.001).Significantly more cases received mechanical and pharmacological VTE prophylaxis in the intervention group than in the control group(respectively,19.8%vs.12.6%receiving mechanical prophylaxis and 0.9%vs.0.2%receiving pharmacological prophylaxis).No cases of life-threatening bleeding occurred in either *** The application of nurse-assisted early warning intervention may be an effective method for preventing VTE following CD.

In this study a thin film composite （TFC） membrane with a Pebax/Task-specific ionic liquid （TSIL） blend selective layer was prepared. Defect-flee Pebax/TSIL layers were coated successfully on a polysulfone ultrafiltration porous support with a poly- dimethylsiloxane （PDMS） gutter layer. Different parameters in the membrane preparation （e.g. concentration, coating time） were investigated and optimized. The morphology of the membranes was studied by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, while the thermal properties and chemical structures of the membrane materials were investigated by thermo-gravimetric ana- lyzer （TGA）, differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）. The CO2 separation performance of the membrane was evaluated using a mixed gas permeation test. Experimental results show that the incorpora- tion of TSIL into the Pebax matrix can significantly increase both C02 permeance and CO2/N2 selectivity. With the presence of water vapor, the membrane exhibits the best CO2/N2 selectivity at a relative humidity of around 75%, where a CO2 permeance of around 500 GPU and a CO2/N2 selectivity of 46 were documented. A further increase in the relative humidity resulted in higher CO： permeance but decreased COIN2 selectivity. Experiments also show that CO2 permeance decreases with a CO2 partial pressure increase, which is considered a characteristic in facilitated transport membranes.

The leakage accident of molten salt in the thermal storage tank will cause the shutdown and enormous economic losses of Concentrated Solar Power *** study investigates the heat transfer and flow characteristic of commercial molten nitrates leaking in the thermal state porous foundation *** migration width and depth of three molten nitrates,Solar Salt(60 wt%NaNO_(3)-40 wt%KNO_(3)),Hitec XL(7 wt%NaNO_(3)-45 wt%KNO_(3)-48 wt%Ca(NO_(3))_(2))and Hitec(7 wt%NaNO_(3)-53 wt%KNO_(3)-40 wt%NaNO_(2)),are obtained at different operating *** results indicate that the temperature rising rate of foundation material in the nitrate leaking process has a trend of first increasing rapidly and then decreasing,and then it increases slightly as the depth *** temperature rising rate increases obviously with increasing operating temperature of the molten *** the increase of the operating temperature,the distances from the storage tank bottom to solid salt in foundation and the total migration depths both increase obviously,while the average migrating widths change *** the same operating temperature,the temperature rising rate of the foundation material where Hitec XL and Hitec salt leak is significantly greater than that with Solar Salt,which is closely related to the melting points of molten *** migration depth of Hitec is 95.03%greater than that of Solar Salt and 19.11%larger than that of Hitec XL at the operating temperature of 300℃.Compared with Hitec XL,the leakage of Hitec with a smaller viscosity has a larger temperature rising rate and a wider and deeper transporting range during the leakage *** work could guide the installation locations of the leak detection devices for high temperature storage tank and the environmental treatment of leaking accident.
