Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a New Mononuclear Cobalt(Ⅲ) Complex with 2,2′-Dipyridylamine and Glycine as Ligands

A new mononuclear cobalt（Ⅲ） complex [Co（dpa）2（Gly）]（ClO4）2-4H2O was synthesized by the reaction of Co^2＋, glycine （gly） and 2,2＂-dipyridylamine （dpa） in a methanol-water solution, and its structure was characterized by IR, EA, ES-MS and X-ray structure analysis. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a = 12.8795（2）, b = 13.2904（2）, c = 19.1104（2）A, β= 109.378（1）°, V = 3085.89（8）A^3, Z = 4, Mr = 746.36, Dc = 1.606 g/cm^3, μ= 0.808 mm^-1, F（000） = 1536, the final R = 0.0543 and wR = 0.1306 for 5393 independent reflections. The magnetic measurement of the compound at room temperature shows that it is diamagnetic and the cobalt ion is in low spin ＋3 oxidation state. ES-MS experiments show that the [Co（dpa）E（Gly）]^2＋ cation is very stable in the methanol solution.

Ag clusters electrochemically reduced in stearic acid Langmuir-Blodgett films and their structural characterizations

Silver ions confined in the silver stearate Langmuir-Blodgett (L-B) films of 8-14 layers were elec-trochernically reduced into Ag clusters,which made the observation of well-ordered scanning tunneling microscope (STM) images of the films with molecular resolution.A hexagonal packing of the hydrophobic chains was obtained,which was superimposed on the two-dimensional Ag clusters of 2-3 nm m ***,a (2×1) struc-time of the hexagonal packing was *** was attributed to a self-assembled structure of the hydrophilic surface of the L-B films through hydrogen *** strong surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect of Ag clusters made it possible to record Raman spectra of two-layer steanc acid L-B films in the region of C-C stretching vibration frequencies The appearance of the bands at 1 128 0 and 1 100.7 cm-1,which correspond to the antisymmetric C-C stretching model of the acyl chains m the all-trans conformation and the C-C stretching model of the acyl chains in the gauche conformations,respectively,means that the methylene chains are mainly in all-trans conformation,but some of them become disordered.
