Macrophage scavenger receptor A1 promotes skeletal muscle regeneration after hindlimb ischemia

The macrophage-mediated inflammatory response is crucial for the recovery of skeletal muscle following ***,macrophage-based therapeutic targets need to be explored for ischemic *** the current study,we found that the mRNA levels of scavenger receptor A1(Sr-a1)were elevated in patients with critical limb ischemia,based on an analysis of the Gene Expression Omnibus *** then investigated the role and underlying mechanisms of macrophage SR-A1 in a mouse hindlimb ischemia(HLI)*** with the Sr-a1^(fl/fl)mice,the Lyz^(Cre+)/Sr-a1^(flox/flox)(Sr-a1~(ΔMΦ))mice showed significantly reduced laser Doppler blood flow in the ischemic limb on day seven after ***,histological analysis revealed that the ischemic limb of the Sr-a1~(ΔMΦ)mice exhibited more severe and prolonged necrotic morphology,inflammation,fibrosis,decreased vessel density,and delayed regeneration than that of the control Sr-a1~(fl/fl)***,restoring wild-type myeloid cells to the Sr-a1 knockout mice effectively improved the Doppler perfusion in the ischemic limb and mitigated skeletal muscle damage seven days after *** with these in vivo findings,co-cultivating macrophages with the mouse myoblast cell line C2C12 revealed that the Sr-a1^(-/-)bone marrow macrophages significantly inhibited myoblast differentiation in ***,SR-A1 enhanced the skeletal muscle regeneration in response to HLI by inhibiting oncostatin M production via suppression of the NF-κB signaling *** findings indicate that SR-A1 may be a promising candidate protein to improve tissue repair and regeneration in peripheral ischemic arterial disease.

Atherosclerosis(AS) is a prevalent condition associated with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, featuring lipid-laden plaque; however, the insufficient resolution and low sensitivity of traditional medical imaging techniques limit their application in lipid imaging. Currently, the second near-infrared(NIR-II) fluorescence imaging offers promising sensitivity and convenience. However, existing probes have limitations in terms of signal-to-background ratio, penetration depth, and tissue scattering. Herein, we use a molecular regulatory strategy to design a lipid-activatable probe Rh-965 with high specificity and NIR-II emission for improved imaging potential in deep tissues. The potential of Rh-965 for imaging plaque lipids in mice with AS is demonstrated by localizing carotid artery plaques using NIR-II imaging. The development of more stable lipid-activated NIR-II probes can significantly enhance atherosclerosis diagnosis and facilitate in vivo imaging in deeper tissues.

Effectiveness of mobile health interventions on management of patients with hypertension: a systematic review of systematic reviews

Objective: To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of mobile health(m Health) interventions on self-management and blood pressure(BP) control in patients with hyper tension and to provide recommendations for the clinic and future ***: Databases including Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, CNKI, Sino Med, Wanfang, and Weipu were searched to collect systematic reviews(SRs) and meta-analyses on m Health interventions for hyper tension management. Two researchers independently screened the ar ticles and extracted data, and the Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews(AMSTAR 2) was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included ***: A total of 11 SRs were included: 1 review was rated as high quality, 3 as low quality, and 7 as critically low quality. The mobile phone was the most common intervention type, followed by the internet. Seven reviews performed meta-analyses and showed that m Health was associated with a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure(SBP), from 2.28 mm Hg(95%CI –3.90 to –0.66; I2 = 40%) to 14.77 mm Hg(95%CI 11.76–17.77; I2 = 89.7%), and diastolic blood pressure(DBP), from 1.50 mm Hg(95%CI –2.20 to –0.08; I2 = 62%) to 8.17 mm Hg(95%CI 5.67–10.67; I2 = 86%). Self-management behaviors included medication adherence(MA), diet, smoking, alcohol drinking, physical activity, and BP monitoring. There were inconsistent results on the effectiveness of m Health ***: m Health interventions can improve BP control, MA, diet, and smoking in patients with hyper tension, but the evidence for the efficacy of m Health on physical activity and alcohol drinking improvement is limited. The methodological quality of existing SRs on the management of BP in patients with hyper tension was relatively low, and more well-designed SRs or meta-analyses were needed to provide more evidence. m Health interventions are useful for improving BP control of patients with hyper tension.
