Resveratrol as an Anti-inflammatory Agent in Coronary Artery Disease:A Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis and Meta-Regression

Background: Resveratrol is a non-flavonoid polyphenol that shows promise in reducing proinflammatory factors and maintaining endothelial function, which hints at its potential role in slowing atherosclerosis and preventing acute coronary events. Objective: To study the cardioprotective effects of resveratrol on inflammatory mediators and endothelial function in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD). Methods: A thorough search was conducted in databases(Cochrane Library, Pro Quest, Pub Med, LILACS, Science Direct, Springer, Taylor&Francis, CNKI, Wanfang, and Weipu) until September 24, 2023. The vasopro-inflammatory mediators, endothelial function and outcomes related to cardiovascular events were observed. Titles and abstracts were assessed, and bias was evaluated with Cochrane Ro B 2.0. Heterogeneity of results was explored by metaregression, certainty of evidence was assessed by the GRADE system, and conclusive evidence was enhanced by trial sequence analysis. Results: Ten randomized controlled trials and 3 animal studies investigated resveratrol's impact on inflammatory mediators and endothelial function. In primary prevention studies, meta-analysis showed a significant reduction(95% CI: –0.73 to –0.20; P=0.0005) in tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) expression with resveratrol, demonstrating a dose-dependent relationship. No significant difference was observed in interleukin-6(IL-6) expression with P=0.58 for primary prevention and P=0.57 for secondary prevention. Vascular endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS) expression was significantly increased after resveratrol pre-treatment following CAD events. Secondary prevention studies yielded no significant results; however, meta-regression identified associations between age, hypertension, and lower doses with the extent of TNF-α alterations. Association between the cumulative triglyceride-glucose index and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency catheter ablation

BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index values are a new surrogate marker for insulin *** study aimed to explore the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and atrial fibrillation(AF)recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA).METHODS A total of 576 patients with AF who underwent RFCA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were included in this *** participants were grouped based on cumulative TyG index values tertiles within 3 months after *** regression and restricted cubic spline analyses were used to determine the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and AF *** predictive value of all risk factors was assessed by receiver operating curve *** There were 375 patients completed the study(age:63.23±10.73 years,64.27%male).The risk of AF recurrence increased with increasing cumulative TyG index values *** adjusting for potential confounders,patients in the medium cumulative TyG index group[hazard ratio(HR)=4.949,95%CI:1.778–13.778,P=0.002]and the high cumulative TyG index group(HR=8.716,95%CI:3.371–22.536,P<0.001)had a higher risk of AF recurrence than those in the low cumulative TyG index *** restricted cubic spline regression model also showed an increased risk of AF recurrence with increasing cumulative TyG index *** considering cumulative TyG index values,left atrial diameter,and lactate dehydrogenase levels as a comprehensive factor,the model could effectively predict AF recurrence after RFCA[area under the curve(AUC)=0.847,95%CI:0.797–0.897,P<0.001].CONCLUSIONS Cumulative TyG index values were a risk factor for AF recurrence after *** longitudinal TyG index values may assist with optimized for risk stratification and outcome prediction for AF recurrence.

Intermittent fasting can benefit breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or ***,it is still uncertain how to select immunotherapy drugs to combine with intermittent *** we observed that two cycles of fasting treatment significantly inhibited breast tumor growth and lung tissue metastasis,as well as prolonged overall survival in mice bearing 4T1 and 4T07 breast *** this process,both the immunosuppressive monocytic-(M-)and granulocytic-(G-)myeloid-derived suppressor cell(MDSC)decreased,accompanied by an increase in interleukin(IL)7R^(+)and granzyme B^(+)T cells in the tumor ***,we observed that Ly6G^(low)G-MDSC sharply decreased after fasting treatment,and the cell surface markers and protein mass spectrometry data showed potential therapeutic *** investigation revealed that glucose metabolism restriction suppressed the splenic granulocytemonocyte progenitor and the generation of colony-stimulating factors and IL-6,which both contributed to the accumulation of *** the other hand,glucose metabolism restriction can directly induce the apoptosis of Ly6G^(low)G-MDSC,but not Ly6G^(high)*** summary,these results suggest that glucose metabolism restriction induced by fasting treatment attenuates the immune-suppressive milieu and enhances the activation of CD3^(+)T cells,providing potential solutions for enhancing immune-based cancer interventions.

Endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EndMT)is a key driver of *** glycolysis is increased in the endothelium of atheroprone areas,accompanied by elevated lactate *** lactylation,mediated by lactate,can regulate gene expression and participate in disease ***,whether histone lactylation is involved in atherosclerosis remains ***,we report that lipid peroxidation could lead to EndMT-induced atherosclerosis by increasing lactatedependent histone H3 lysine 18 lactylation(H3K18la)in vitro and in vivo,as well as in atherosclerotic patients’***,the histone chaperone ASF1A was first identified as a cofactor of P300,which precisely regulated the enrichment of H3K18la at the promoter of SNAI1,thereby activating SNAI1 transcription and promoting *** found that deletion of ASF1A inhibited EndMT and improved endothelial *** analysis based on Apoe^(KO)Asf1a^(ECKO) mice in the atherosclerosis model confirmed the involvement of H3K18la in atherosclerosis and found that endotheliumspecific ASF1A deficiency inhibited EndMT and alleviated atherosclerosis *** of glycolysis by pharmacologic inhibition and advanced PROTAC attenuated H3K18la,SNAI1 transcription,and EndMT-induced *** study illustrates precise crosstalk between metabolism and epigenetics via H3K18la by the P300/ASF1A molecular complex during EndMT-induced atherogenesis,which provides emerging therapies for atherosclerosis.
