The biosynthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxanes has been a focus of interest in the management of many liver *** are the enzymes involved in the first step of the biosynthesis of these lipid mediators and selective inhibitors for these isoenzymes as well as pharmacological analogues of prostaglandins have been developed and are currently applied *** we discuss the implications of these enzymes in the onset of metabolic and lipid disorders in the liver and their potential role in the progression of the diseases towards fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinogenesis.

In this study, we investigate the leader-following consensus problem of a class of heterogeneous secondorder nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to disturbances. In particular, the nonlinear systems contain uncertainties that can be linearly parameterized. We propose a class of novel distributed control laws, which depends on the relative state of the system and thus can be implemented even when no communication among agents exists. By Barbalat's lemma, we demonstrate that consensus of the second-order nonlinear multi-agent system can be achieved by the proposed distributed control law. The effectiveness of the main result is verified by its application to consensus control of a group of Van der Pol oscillators.

This paper studies leader-follower formation control of networked nonholonomic vehicles of unicycle type. Each vehicle is subject to the velocity constraints consisting of saturated angular velocity and bounded linear velocity with positive-minimum value. Each vehicle is allowed to use its local coordinate frame, and the network topology is described by a directed graph containing a spanning tree. Two dynamic control laws satisfying the velocity constraints are developed respectively, such that the leader-follower formation defined in local coordinate frames can be achieved in two cases. The proposed control laws only require each vehicle to use the information of its neighbors in the network via local measurements and communication. Finally,effectiveness is illustrated by simulation results of an example.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)is a cofactor that serves to shuttle electrons during metabolic processes such as glycolysis,the tricarboxylic acid cycle,and oxidative phosphorylation(OXPHOS).NADH is autofluorescent,and itsfluorescence lifetime can be used to infer metabolic dynamics in living ***-coupled time-correlated single photon counting(TCSPC)equipped with an implantable needle probe can be used to measure NADH lifetime in vivo,enabling investigation of changing metabolic demand during muscle contraction or tissue *** study illustrates a proof of concept for point-based,minimally-invasive NADHfluorescence lifetime measurement in *** muscle loss(VML)injuries were created in the left tibialis anterior(TA)muscle of male Sprague Dawley *** lifetime measurements were collected before,during,and after a 30 s tetanic contraction in the injured and uninjured TA muscles,which was subsequently-t to a biexponential decay model to yield a metric of NADH utilization(cytoplasmic vs protein-bound NADH,the A11/A22 ratio).On average,this ratio was higher during and after contraction in uninjured muscle compared to muscle at rest,suggesting higher levels of free NADH in contracting and recovering muscle,indicating increased rates of *** injured muscle,this ratio was higher than uninjured muscle overall but decreased over time,which is consistent with current knowledge of inflammatory response to injury,suggesting tissue regeneration has *** data suggest that-ber-coupled TCSPC has the potential to measure changes in NADH binding in vivo in a minimally invasive manner that requires further investigation.

The development of simple and high-throughput approaches to yield solid-state nanopores on large surface membranes may facilitate the prevalence of nanopore analysis technology and in-vitro diagnosis using portable ***,solidstate nanopores are typically realized by complex and highend nanofabrication ***,we present a method to achieve nanopores on polymer membranes using,silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)as templates and intense pulsed light(IPL)as a heating *** density and size of nanopores are controllable by adjusting the spin coating rate,the concentration of nanoparticle suspension,and the size of nanoparticles(NPs).The temperature of the AgNPs can rapidly reach 1132 K under instant heating of photothermal effect through light irradiation in 2 ms,resulting in localized melting and decomposition of an underneath polycarbonate(PC)membrane to yield nanopores with sizes ranging from 10 to 270 *** removing the nanoparticle residues,the flexible membrane with nanopores can be integrated into a flow cell to achieve a nanopore sensor that has been used to measure the translocation behaviors of bovine serum albumin(BSA).The results have demonstrated the capability of the sensor in protein denaturation *** low-cost and highthroughput technique to fabricate solid-state nanopores on flexible polymeric membranes may facilitate the development of more nanopore-based flexible sensors that can be integrated with other flexible components for wearable diagnosis.

Tissue-resident immune cells are known to be derived from their circulating precursors and migrate to tissues for host *** studies have revealed heterogeneity in the origin and proliferation properties of macrophages,which are a prototype tissue-resident immune *** tissue-resident macrophages can originate from embryonic and fetal sources and are selfmaintained by continuous local self-renewal.1,2 As accessory cells,tissue-resident macrophages support parenchymal cells(their‘client cells’),and their functions range from tissue development to tissue homeostasis(for example,osteoclasts,lung macrophages,microglia,splenic red-pulp macrophages,and Kupffer cells).Although macrophages are known as the major immune cell with tissue-specific functions,new frameworks integrating the functions of other immune cells with the maintenance of tissue homeostasis will be likely established in the near future.

In Vitro Study on Mg-Sn-Mn Alloy as Biodegradable Metals

The mechanical properties, chemical properties and biocompatibility of Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy were tested. A series of in vitro evaluations such as tensile test, static and dynamic immersion test, hemocompatibility test as well as cytotoxicity test were presented, with commercial magnesium alloy WE43 as the control. Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy possesses suitable strength and superior ductility compared with WE43 and AZ31. Static immersion and dynamic degradation tests showed more uniform degradation with a more moderate rate for Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy （0.34 mm/y in static condition and 0.25 mm/y in dynamic condition） compared with WE43 alloy （0.42 mm/y in static condition and 0.33 mm/y in dynamic condition） in Hank＇s solution. Blood compatibility evaluation suggested that Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy had no destructive effect on erythrocyte and showed excellent anti-thrombogenicity to blood system. Besides, Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy showed no inhibition effect to L929 metabolic activity and mild toxicity to vascular smooth muscle cell （VSMC） in preliminary cell viability assessment. By considering its excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, low ion release rate and good biocompatibility, Mg-3Sn-0.5Mn alloy may be a promising economical candidate as biomedical implant material for load-bearing clinical applications in the future.

Background:Since it was first described in 2001,endoscopic ultrasonography-guided biliary drainage(EUS-BD)has emerged as an alternative procedure for achieving an endoscopic internal drainage in case of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)*** drainage can be achieved by either a transduodenal extrahepatic approach through EUS-guided choledochoduodenostomy(EUS-CDS),or a transgastric intrahepatic approach,namely EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomy(EUS-HGS)which already holds a remarkable place in the treatment of patients with malignant biliary *** sources:For this review we did a comprehensive search of PubMed/MEDLINE from inception to May 31,2021 for papers with a significant sample size(at least 20 patients enrolled)dealing with *** on technical success,clinical success and rate of adverse events were ***:A total of 22 studies with different design,com prising 874 patients,were *** success was achieved in about 96% of cases(ranging from 65% to 100%).Clinical success was obtained in almost 91% of cases(ranging from 76% to 100%).Overall rate of adverse events was 19%(ranging from 0% to 35%).Abdominal pain,self-limiting pneumoperitoneum,bile leak,cholangitis,bleeding,perforation and intraperitoneal migration of the stent were the most ***:Despite both safety and efficacy profile,at the moment HGS still remains a challenging procedure at every single step and must therefore be conducted by a very experienced endoscopist in interventional EUS and ERCP procedures,who is able to deal with the possible severe adverse events of this procedure.A rapid introduction in clinical practice of dedicated devices is desiderable.
