TMPRSS2 Polymorphism and Its Correlation with SARS-CoV-2 Susceptibility - A Secondary Publication

Background:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus affected more people than SARS-CoV-1 and related *** genetic factors,besides respiratory droplets and direct exposure to the virus,are found highly responsible for transmitting SARS-CoV-2 ***:The objective of this study was to determine the plasma levels of the TMPRSS2 gene and its role in SARS-CoV-2 ***:A total of 100 patients,i.e.50 SARS-CoV-2 positive patients as the case group and 50 SARS-CoV-2 negative samples as the control group,were selected randomly and included in this case-control study to determine the association between TMPRSS2 gene and susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The TMPRSS2 levels of case and control samples were measured through an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Following the genomic DNA extraction,a set of reverse and forward primers of human TMPRSS2 gene primers were used for the amplification of the TMPRSS2 ***:In the control group,the ratio of men to women was more or less the same while in the case group 62%of the population were *** TMPRSS2 level was found to be 4.70±7.7 ng/ml in case samples while it was 4.73±5.7 ng/ml in control ***:The levels of TMPRSS2 in plasma samples of both controls and cases were found to be the same indicating that the entry of SARS-CoV-2 is not dependent on the plasma levels of this protein.

Acute myeloid leukaemia(AML)patients harbouring certain chromosome abnormalities have particularly adverse *** these patients,targeted therapies have not yet made a significant clinical *** understand the molecular landscape of poor prognosis AML we profiled 74 patients from two different centres(in UK and Finland)at the proteomic,phosphoproteomic and drug response phenotypic *** data were complemented with transcriptomics analysis for 39 *** integration highlighted a phosphoproteomics signature that define two biologically distinct groups of KMT2A rearranged leukaemia,which we term MLLGA and *** presented increased DOT1L phosphorylation,HOXA gene expression,CDK1 activity and phosphorylation of proteins involved in RNA metabolism,replication and DNA damage when compared to MLLGB and no KMT2A rearranged *** was particularly sensitive to 15 compounds including genotoxic drugs and inhibitors of mitotic kinases and inosine-5-monosphosphate dehydrogenase(IMPDH)relative to other ***-risk KMT2A-MLLT3 cases were mainly represented in a third group closer to MLLGA than to *** expression of IMPDH2 and multiple nucleolar proteins was higher in MLLGA and correlated with the response to IMPDH inhibition in KMT2A rearranged leukaemia,suggesting a role of the nucleolar activity in sensitivity to *** summary,our multilayer molecular profiling of AML with poor prognosis and KMT2A-MLLT3 karyotypes identified a phosphoproteomics signature that defines two biologically and phenotypically distinct groups of KMT2A rearranged *** data provide a rationale for the potential development of specific therapies for AML patients characterised by the MLLGA phosphoproteomics signature identified in this study.

A single-layer design of non-uniform metasurface(MS)based circularly polarized(CP)antenna with wideband operation characteristic is proposed and investigated in this *** antenna is excited by a truncated corner squared patch as a primary radiating CP ***,a non-uniform MS is placed in the same layer with the driven *** increasing the impedance bandwidth,the non-uniform MS also generates two additional CP bands in the high frequency band,leading to significantly increase the antenna’s overall *** use of non-uniform MS distinguishes our design from the other CP MS based antennas in literature,in which the MS is formed by multiple uniform unit cells and placed in different layer with the radiating *** validation,an antenna prototype,whose overall dimensions of 0.94λ_(o)×0.94λ_(o)×0.06λ_(o) at the center operating frequency,is fabricated and experimentally *** measured operating bandwidth with|S11|≤−10 dB and AR≤3 dB is 27.1%(5.1–6.7 GHz)and the broadside gain within this band is from 5.7 to 7.2 *** to the other related works,the proposed antenna has advantage of very wideband operation with single-layer design.

Magnetic and electrical transport properties in GdAlSi and SmAlGe

We conduct a detailed examination of the magnetic and electrical transport properties in GdAlSi and SmAlGe crystals,which possess a LaPtSi-type structure(space group I4_(1)md).The magnetic susceptibility data unambiguously reveal magnetic ordering below a characteristic transition temperature(T_(N)).For GdAlSi,a hysteresis loop is observed in the magnetization and magnetoresistance curves within the ab plane when the magnetic field is applied below T_(N),which is around32 *** specific heat anomalies are detected at 32 K for GdAlSi and 6 K for SmAlGe,confirming the occurrence of magnetic *** addition,the extracted magnetic entropy at high temperatures is consistent with the theoretical value of Rln(2J+1) for J=7/2 in Gd^(3+) and J=5/2 in Sm^(3+),*** also exhibits Schottky-like specific heat ***,both GdAlSi and SmAlGe exhibit positive magnetoresistance and a normal Hall effect.

Selective hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanone is intriguing in chemical *** a few catalysts with promising performances have been developed in recent years,the basic principle for catalyst design is still missing owing to the unclear catalytic *** work tries to unravel the mechanism of phenol hydro-genation and the reasons causing the selectivity discrepancy on noble metal catalysts under mild *** show that different reaction pathways always firstly converge to the formation of cyclohexanone under mild *** selectivity discrepancy mainly depends on the activity for cyclohexanone sequential hy-drogenation,in which two factors are found to be responsible,*** hydrogenation energy barrier and the competitive chemisorption between phenol and cyclohexanone,if the specific co-catalyzing effect of H 2 O on Ru is not *** on the above results,a quantitative descriptor,E b(one/pl)/E a,in which E a can be further correlated to the d band center of the noble metal catalyst,is proposed by the first time to roughly evaluate and predict the selectivity to cyclohexanone for catalyst screening.

Insight into relationship between composition,thickness and electrochemistry behavior of oxide film formed on TA15under different potentials in 0.5 mol·L^(-1)H_(2)SO_(4)

The oxide film formed on TA15 alloy in0.5 mol·L^(-1)H_(2)SO_(4)at different applied potentials is investigated by evaluating the film formation current density,film thickness,surface film composition,valence state,and the electrochemical *** relative quantitative spectral analysis revealed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and X-ray absorption spectra(XAS)shows that the increasing applied potential promotes the formation of thick and high-valence state *** contrasting with XAS of the reference titanium oxides,it is found that TiO_(2)within the oxide film changes from anatase type to rutile type with the potential increases to 2.00 *** oxide film formed at passive region has better protection performance,and with the increase of applied potential,the corrosion resistance of passive film increases,whereas the ND(donor density)values obtained from the Mott-Schottky(MS)results decrease with the increasing applied potential,indicating a better uniformity and protective effect of the oxide *** on above facts,the model of the oxide films formed on TA15 at different applied potentials in passive region and dissolve region is ***,the existence forms of all the TA15alloying elements under the most corrosion resistant condition are confirmed.

Anti-angiogenesis and anti-inflammatory effects of Moringa oleifera leaf extract in the early stages of streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats

Telemarketing is a well-established marketing approach to offering products and services to prospective *** effectiveness of such an approach,however,is highly dependent on the selection of the appropriate consumer base,as reaching uninterested customers will induce annoyance and consume costly enterprise resources in vain while missing interested *** introduction of business intelligence and machine learning models can positively influence the decision-making process by predicting the potential customer base,and the existing literature in this direction shows promising ***,the selection of influential features and the construction of effective learning models for improved performance remain a ***,from the modelling perspective,the class imbalance nature of the training data,where samples with unsuccessful outcomes highly outnumber successful ones,further compounds the problem by creating biased and inaccurate ***,customer preferences are likely to change over time due to various reasons,and/or a fresh group of customers may be targeted for a new product or service,necessitating model retraining which is not addressed at all in existing works.A major challenge in model retraining is maintaining a balance between stability(retaining older knowledge)and plasticity(being receptive to new information).To address the above issues,this paper proposes an ensemble machine learning model with feature selection and oversampling techniques to identify potential customers more accurately.A novel online learning method is proposed for model retraining when new samples are available over *** newly introduced method equips the proposed approach to deal with dynamic data,leading to improved readiness of the proposed model for practical adoption,and is a highly useful addition to the *** experiments with real-world data show that the proposed approach achieves excellent results in all cases(e.g.,98.6
