Objective To investigate the molecular mechanisms of the adverse effects of exposure to sulfamonomethoxin(SMM) in pregnancy on the neurobehavioral development of male offspring. Methods Pregnant mice were randomly divided into four groups: control‐(normal saline), low‐[10 mg/(***)], middle‐[50 mg/(***)], and high‐dose [200 mg/(***)] groups, which received SMM by gavage daily during gestational days 1‐18. We measured the levels of short‐chain fatty acids(SCFAs) in feces from dams and male pups. Furthermore, we analyzed the mR NA and protein levels of genes involved in the mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR) pathway in the hippocampus of male pups by RT‐PCR or Western blotting. Results Fecal SCFA concentrations were significantly decreased in dams. Moreover, the production of individual fecal SCFAs was unbalanced, with a tendency for an increased level of total fecal SCFAs in male pups on postnatal day(PND) 22 and 56. Furthermore, the phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase(PI3 k)/protein kinase B(AKT)/mTOR or mT OR/ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1(S6 K1)/4 EBP1 signaling pathway was continuously upregulated until PND 56 in male offspring. In addition, the expression of Sepiapterin Reductase(SPR), a potential target of m TOR, was inhibited. Conclusion In utero exposure to SMM, persistent upregulation of the hippocampal mTOR pathway related to dysfunction of the gut(SCFA)‐brain axis may contribute to cognitive deficits in male offspring.

The complete mitochondrial genome （16,837 bp） from the Keeled box turtle （Pyxidea mouhotii） was determined. The genome content, gene order, and base composition conformed to the consensus vertebrate type mtDNA. However, a remarkable feature was found in this molecule： a large number of （ATTATATC） n direct tandem repeats followed by （TA） n microsatellite at the 3＇ end of the control region （D-loop）, which might be useful as molecular markers for studying population genetics and helpful for species identification and conservation. Besides, to review phylogenetic relationships among major turtle lineages, maximum-likelihood （ML） and Bayesian （BI） analyses were conducted based on concatenated sequences of 13 protein-coding genes from 16 taxa. The resultant ML and BI analyses showed homological topologies, which only differed on the exact placement of Platysternon. Nevertheless, the results strongly supported that 1） Pyxidea mouhotii and Cuora aurocapitata formed a monophyletic clade, whereas Cyclemys atripons was not closer to the Pyxidea-Cuora than to Chinemys reevesii, suggesting that Cyclemys and the Cuora group （containing Pyxidea） may have originated from two ancestors; 2） the Geoemydidae with Testudinidae was a sister group rather than with the Emydidae.

We aimed to investigate the relationship of dietary zinc intake with new-onset hypertension among Chinese adults.A total of 12,177 participants who were free of hypertension at baseline from the China health and Nutrition Survey were *** intake was assessed by three consecutive 24-h dietary recalls combined with a household food *** with systolic blood pressure≥140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure≥90 mmHg or diagnosed by a physician or under antihypertensive treatment during the follow-up were defined as having new-onset *** a median follow-up duration of 6.1 years,4269 participants developed new-onset ***,the association between dietary zinc intake and new-onset hypertension followed a J-shape(P for non-linearity<0.001).The risk of new-onset hypertension significantly decreased with the increment of dietary zinc intake(per mg/day:hazard ratio(HR)0.93;95%confidence interval(CI)0.88–0.98)in participants with zinc intake<10.9 mg/day,and increased with the increment of zinc intake(per mg/day:HR 1.14;95%CI 1.11–1.16)in participants with zinc intake≥10.9 mg/*** conclusion,there was a J-shaped association between dietary zinc intake and new-onset hypertension in general Chinese adults,with an inflection point at about 10.9 mg/day.

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of the cases of COVID-19 epidemic clusters, and explore the influence of family factors and social factors such as group activities on the spread of the *** The data of cases of COVID-19 epidemic clusters from 19 January, 2020 to 25 February, 2020 were collected from the official platforms of 36 cities in 6 provinces in China. Descriptive statistical methods,χ2 test and curve fitting were used to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of the clustered *** By 25 February, 2020, the data of 1 052 cases in 366 epidemic clusters were collected. In these clustered cases, 86.9%(914/1 050) occurred in families. Among the 1 046 cases with gender information, 513 were males (49.0%) and 533 were females (51.0%). The cases were mainly young adults between 18 and 59 years old, accounting for 68.5% (711/1 038). In the 366 epidemic clusters , the clusters in which the first confirmed cases with the history of sojourn in Wuhan or Hubei accounted for 47.0%(172/366). From 19 January to 3 February, 2020, the first confirmed cases with Wuhan or Hubei sojourn history accounted for 66.5%. From 4 to 25 February, the first confirmed cases who had Wuhan or Hubei sojourn history accounted for only 18.2%. The median of interval between the first generation case onset and the second generation case onset was 5 (2-8) days. The median of onset- diagnosis interval of the initial cases was 6 (3-9) days, and the median of onset-diagnosis interval of the secondary cases was 5 (3-8) *** Epidemic clusters of COVID-19 were common in many cities outside Wuhan and Hubei. Close contact in family was one of the main causes for the spread of household transmission of the virus. After 4 February, the epidemic clusters were mainly caused by the first generation or second generation cases in local areas, and the time for diagnosis became shorter.
