Zircon U-Pb-Hf and trace element signatures reveal the petrogenesis of the Jiuyishan granitic complex， South China: Implications for W-Sn and rare metal mineralization

The Jiuyishan granitic complex， located in the Nanling Range， South China， is composed of five granitic plutons （Xuehuading， Jinjiling， Pangxiemu， Shaziling and Xishan）. Zircon U-Pb dating of four plutons （Jinjiling， Pangxiemu， Shaziling and Xishan） yielded similar ages of approximately 153 Ma， indicating indistinguishable ages within error. Three plutons except the Shaziling pluton， have consistent εNd（t）（-7.8 to -5.8） and εHf（t）（-9.1 to -2.2） values， which are similar to those of the lower crustal granulitic metasedimentary and meta-igneous rocks in South China. Comparing to other three plutons， the Shaziling pluton has consistent εHf（t）（-7.4 to -6.8） and εHf（t）（-7.5 to -4.7） values and shows similar source， but the Shaziling mafic microgranular enclaves （MMEs） show variable εHf（t）（-14.2 to 4.8） values， indicating a remarkable mantle magma injection of the Shaziling pluton. Zircon Ce/Sm-Yb/Gd， whole-rock CaO-P2O5and CaO-TiO2linear trends revealed that from the Xishan to the Shaziling and from the Jinjiling to the Pangxiemu granites， they experienced apatite and titanite fractionation， respectively. Zircon Th， U， Nb， Ta， Hf， Ti， Y， P and rare earth element （REE） contents and whole-rock Sr， Ba and Rb contents also show that the Shazling， Xishan， Jinjiling and Pangxiemu granites followed a discontinuous evolutionary series， but the Pangxiemu granites exhibit highly evolved nature. Four main controlling factors of W-Sn and rare metal mineralization in granitic rocks were discussed， and we found that the mineralization in Jiuyishan granitic complex was mainly controlled by the fractionation degree and crystallization temperature， but were rarely affected by oxygen fugacity and mantle material input. The Pangxiemu granites show particularly higher Rb and Ta contents than the other three plutons， implying that the ore deposits developed in the Jiuyishan complex were directly related to the most evolved Pangxiemu pluton， with the occurrence of Rb and Ta as the most l

The Mishrif Formation(Cenomanian-E Turonian)is one of the most important geological formations in the Middle East and Iraq because it contains enormous petroleum *** is considered to be the first reservoir in the region,and is still being studied because of its economic *** carbonate of the Mishrif Formation derives from a variety of depositional settings,including mid-ramp,shoal,lagoon,and *** five main microfacies discussed in this paper are wackestone,packstone,grainstone,floatstone,and *** most frequent fossilised components found in the Mishrif Formation are rudists,benthic foraminifera,echinoderms,burrows molluscs,and *** to the microfacies and analysed wireline log data,the sequence stratigraphy of the studied formation is composed of two regression *** parasequences of transgressive-regressive cycles make up the depositional sequence of the Mishrif *** standard depositional environments seem to demonstrate a gradual regression,beginning with a short period of the outer ramp,then a steady period of the mid-ramp,and ending in the intertidal ***,the study recorded two regional maximum flooding surfaces:K-135 and *** former is present in the lowermost part of the formation,while the other lies in the *** study shows a close relationship between facies(environments)and hydrocarbon *** increased accumulation focuses on the lower part of the studied formation,and seems to be lower in the upper part of the formation as a result of changes in the environment of deposition.

Two-step exhumation of Caucasian intraplate rifts:A proxy of sequential plate-margin collisional orogenies

Intraplate structural deformation is diagnostic of tectonic stress regime changes linked to plate interactions and can result from superposed tectonic events whose single contributions are hardly *** this paper,we present a set of integrated thermochronologic inverse models along a 140 km-long transect across the central Greater Caucasus and the adjacent Adjara-Trialeti fold-and-thrust belt of Georgia,two intraplate orogens produced by structural inversion of parallel continental rift zones located on the Eurasian *** dataset allows to distinguish discrete and superposed deformation episodes and quantify their respective contributions to orogenic *** integration of(U-Th)/He analysis on apatite and zircon,fission-track analysis on apatite,and peak-temperature determinations(clay mineralogy,organic matter petrography,Raman spectroscopy)shows that structural inversion was punctuated by two incremental steps starting respectively in the latest Cretaceous and the *** Cretaceous partial inversion of the Greater Caucasus is documented here for the first time and placed in a geographically wider context of coeval *** two episodes of intraplate structural inversion,exhumation,and sediment generation are chronologically and physically correlated with docking of(i)the Anatolide-Tauride-Armenian terrane(Late Cretaceous-Paleocene)and(ii)Arabia(Miocene hard collision)against the southern Eurasian plate *** deformation in the Caucasian domain was triggered by far-field propagation of plate-margin collisional stress which focused preferentially along rheologically weak rift zones.

Effect of alumina and silica nanocomposite based on polyacrylamide on light and heavy oil recovery in presence of formation water using micromodel

Graph theoretical analysis of limestone fracture network damage patterns based on uniaxial compression test

The topological attributes of fracture networks in limestone,subject to intense hydrodynamics and intricate geological discontinuities,substantially influence the mechanical and hydraulic characteristics of the rock *** dynamical evolution of fracture networks under stress is crucial for unveiling the interaction patterns among ***,existing models are undirected graphs focused on stationary topology,which need optimization to depict fractures'dynamic development and rupture *** compensate for the time and destruction terms,we propose the damage network model,which defines the physical interpretation of fractures through the ternary *** focus primarily on the evolution of node types,topological attributes,and motifs of the fracture network in limestone under uniaxial *** expose the varying behavior of the nodes'self-dynamics and neighbors'adjacent dynamics in the fracture *** approach elucidates the impact of micro-crack behaviors on large brittle shear fractures from a topological perspective and further subdivides the progressive failure stage into four distinct phases(isolated crack growth phase,crack splay phase,damage coalescence phase,and mechanical failure phase)based on the significance profile of the *** analysis reveals a positive linear and negative power correlation between fracture network density and branch number to the rock damage resistance,*** damage network model introduces a novel methodology for depicting the interaction of two-dimensional(2D)projected fractures,considering the dynamic spatiotemporal development characteristics and fracture geometric *** helps dynamically characterize properties such as connectivity,permeability,and damage factors while comprehensively assessing damage in rock mass fracture networks.

Microstructures, Fabrics, and Seismic Properties of Mylonitic Amphibolites: Implications for Strain Localization in a Thickening Anisotropic Middle Crust of the North China Craton

Strain localization processes in the continental crust generate faults and ductile shear zones over a broad range of scales affecting the long-term lithosphere deformation and the mechanical response of faults during the seismic *** anisotropy originated within the continental crust can be applied to deduce the kinematics and structures within orogens and is widely attributed to regionally aligned minerals,e.g.,***,naturally deformed rocks commonly show various structural layers(e.g.,strain localization layers).It is necessary to reveal how both varying amphibole contents and fabrics in the structural layers of strain localization impact seismic property and its interpretations in terms of *** present microstructures,petrofabrics,and calculate seismic properties of deformed amphibolite with the microstructures ranging from mylonite to *** transition from mylonite to ultramylonite is accompanied by a slight decrease of amphibole grain size,a disintegration of amphibole and plagioclase aggregates,and amphibole aspect ratio increase(from 1.68 to 2.23),concomitant with the precipitation of feldspar and/or quartz between amphibole *** intensities of amphibole crystallographic preferred orientations(CPOs)show a progressively increasing trend from mylonitic layers to homogeneous ultramylonitic layers,as indicated by the JAm index increasing from 1.9–4.0 for the mylonitic layers and 4.0–4.8 for the transition layer,to 5.1–6.9 for the ultramylonitic *** CPO patterns are nearly random for plagioclase and *** amphibole aggregates in the amphibolitic mylonite deform by diffusion,mechanical rotation,and weak dislocation creep,and develop CPOs *** polymineralic matrix(such as quartz and plagioclase)of the mylonite and the ultramylonite deform dominantly by dissolution-precipitation,combined with weak dislocation *** mean P and S wave velocities are estimated to be 6.3 and 3.5 km/

Characteristics of bioaerosols under high-ozone periods,haze episodes,dust storms,and normal days in Xi'an,China

The characteristics of bioaerosols and their effects on human beings'health have become a major public concern in the recent *** study compared the characteristics of bioaerosols under different types of pollution(high-ozone[HO]episodes,haze episodes,and dust storms[DSs]),with those of bioaerosols on normal days(NDs)in Xi'an,*** concentrations,diurnal variations,and size distribution of bacteria,fungi,and total airborne microbes(TAMs)were *** results showed that the bacterial and fungal concentrations were the highest during DSs and on NDs,reaching 425.2 and 956.9 colony-forming units/m^(3),*** concentration of TAMs was the highest during HO episodes,reaching 10.7×10^(6)cells/m^(3),which was significantly higher than that during the other *** maximum concentrations of bacteria and fungi during HO episodes were observed in the morning,while they appeared separately in the morning and evening during haze *** and TAMs during DSs reached peak concentrations in the morning and evening,which is opposite to the particulate matter(PM)distribution *** NDs,temperature and relative humidity had significant effects on *** size distributions of airborne bacteria exhibited bimodal patterns,whereas unimodal distributions were observed for *** mainly attached in fine particles(<2.1μm)with proportions of 67.4%and 60.5%during haze episodes and DSs,respectively,which means that fungi were easily penetrated into the human respiratory *** evaluation of influence factors revealed that PM_(2.5) and PM10 had negative effects on fungal concentration during DSs,and ozone concentration and temperature were inversely correlated with fungal concentration during HO *** results provide valuable reference data for elucidating the formation and evolution of bioaerosols under different types of pollution.

Remote estimates of suspended particulate matter in global lakes using machine learning models

Suspended particulate matter(SPM)in lakes exerts strong impact on light propagation,aquatic ecosystem productivity,which co-varies with nutrients,heavy metal and micro-pollutant in *** lakes,SPM exerts strong absorption and backscattering,ultimately affects water leaving signals that can be detected by satellite *** regression models based on specific band or hand ratios have been widely used for SPM estimate in the past with moderate *** are still rooms for model accuracy improvements,and machine learning models may solve the non-linear relationships between spectral variable and SPM in *** assembled more than 16,400 in situ measured SPM in lakes from six continents(excluding the Antarctica continent),of which 9640 samples were matched with Landsat overpasses within±7 *** machine learning algorithms and two simple regression methods(linear and partial least squares models)were used to estimate SPM in lakes and the performance were *** overcome the problem of imbalance datasets in regression,a Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling technique for regression with Gaussian Noise(SMOGN)was adopted in this *** comparison,we found that gradient boosting decision tree(GBDT),random forest(RF),and extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)models demonstrated good spatiotemporal transferability with SMOGN processed dataset,and has potential to map SPM at different year with good quality of Landsat land surface reflectance *** all the tested modeling approaches,the GBDT model has accurate calibration(n=6428,R^(2)=0.95,MAPE=29.8%)from SPM collected in 2235 lakes across the world,and the validation(n=3214,R^(2)=0.84,MAPE=38.8%)also exhibited stable ***,the good performances were also exhibited by RF model with calibration(R^(2)=0.93)and validation(R^(2)=0.86,MAPE=24.2%)*** applied GBDT and RF models to map SPM of typical lakes,and satisfactory result was *** addition,the GBDT model was evaluated b
