Efficient electrocatalysts are vital to large-current hydrogen production in commercial water splitting for green energy ***,a novel heterophase engineering strategy is described to produce polymorphic CoSe_(2)*** composition of the electrocatalysts consisting of both cubic CoSe_(2)(c-CoSe_(2))and orthorhombic CoSe_(2)(o-CoSe_(2))phases can be controlled *** results demonstrate that junction-induced spin-state modulation of Co atoms enhances the adsorption of intermediates and accelerates charge transfer resulting in superior large-current hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)***,the CoSe_(2)based heterophase catalyst with the optimal c-CoSe_(2)content requires an overpotential of merely 240 mV to achieve 1,000 mA·cm^(-2)as well as a Tafel slope of 50.4 mV·dec^(-1).Furthermore,the electrocatalyst can maintain a large current density of 1,500 mA·cm^(-2)for over 320 h without *** results reveal the advantages and potential of heterophase junction engineering pertaining to design and fabrication of low-cost transition metal catalysts for large-current water splitting.

Dynamic Forecasting of Traffic Event Duration in Istanbul:A Classification Approach with Real-Time Data Integration

Today,urban traffic,growing populations,and dense transportation networks are contributing to an increase in traffic *** incidents include traffic accidents,vehicle breakdowns,fires,and traffic disputes,resulting in long waiting times,high carbon emissions,and other undesirable *** is vital to estimate incident response times quickly and accurately after traffic incidents occur for the success of incident-related planning and response *** study presents a model for forecasting the traffic incident duration of traffic events with high *** proposed model goes through a 4-stage process using various features to predict the duration of four different traffic events and presents a feature reduction approach to enable real-time data collection and *** the first stage,the dataset consisting of 24,431 data points and 75 variables is prepared by data collection,merging,missing data processing and data *** the second stage,models such as Decision Trees(DT),K-Nearest Neighbour(KNN),Random Forest(RF)and Support Vector Machines(SVM)are used and hyperparameter optimisation is performed with *** the third stage,feature selection and reduction are performed and real-time data are *** the last stage,model performance with 14 variables is evaluated with metrics such as accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,MCC,confusion matrix and *** RF model outperforms other models with an accuracy of 98.5%.The study’s prediction results demonstrate that the proposed dynamic prediction model can achieve a high level of success.

Determination of riding comfort on cycleways using a smartphone application

Well maintained cycleways will encourage more people to cycle, as the condition of cycleways is important for the safety, accessibility and riding comfort of cyclists. Despite that, only a few models used to describe the quality of service for cyclists take the surface condition into account. Objective measuring methods are needed to enable reliable and effective assessment of surface conditions, and measurable performance criteria related to the needs of cyclists should be developed. The purpose of this study has been to test the reliability and validity of using accelerometers in smartphones to assess the riding comfort on cycleways. A smartphone application converting three-dimensional accelerometer measurements into a single indicator for cycleways has been used to assess road surfaces in two field studies, in Sweden and Norway, respectively. Both studies assessed test sections of varying quality. To relate the measurements to subjective riding comfort assessments by cyclists, recruited cyclists collected quantitative data using the app, whilst also rating their perceived riding comfort by completing a survey. Measurements were also related to standard road surface condition indicators, generated from a road surface tester equipped with 19 laser sensors: international roughness index(IRI), mega-and macrotexture. The results show that it is possible to describe the unevenness of a cycleway using the technology present in smartphones. A software application can be used to collect and analyse data from the acceleration sensors in the phone, which can then be used to describe the riding comfort of cyclists. It is mainly the unevenness in the 50-1000 mm sizerange that create the greatest discomfort for cyclists, and intermittent vibrations are perceived as more uncomfortable than more evenly distributed vibrations. Therefore, IRI is not a relevant measurement for describing the riding comfort of cyclists.

High-temperature-resistant adhesives are critical materials in the aerospace *** zirconium-modified aluminum phosphate-based adhesives developed in this work had the advantage of adjustable thermal expansibility,achieving a high matching of coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)with *** introduction of zirconium can significantly improve the thermal stability of the adhesive matrix,and the Zr/Al ratio substantially affects the various reaction processes inside the adhesive,especially the types of zirconium-containing *** of the zirconium-containing compounds in the A7Z3 adhesive were ZrO2 only when the mass ratio of zirconium hydroxide to aluminum hydroxide was 3:7,which was the key reason why it had the highest *** room-temperature bonding strength of A7Z3 after heat treatment at 1500℃reached 67.2 *** pretreatment at 1500℃,the high-temperature bonding strength of A7Z3 was greater than 50 MPa in the range of(room temperature)RT-1000℃.After 40 thermal cycles between RT and 1500℃,the bonding strength still reached 10 *** bonding occurred at temperatures below 1000℃,while chemical bonding dominated above 1000℃based on the generation of Al5BO9 and mullite at the interfaces.

The supercritical CO_(2)(sCO_(2))power cycle could improve efficiencies for a wide range of thermal power *** sCO_(2)turbine generator plays an important role in the sCO_(2)power cycle by directly converting thermal energy into mechanical work and electric *** operation of the generator encounters challenges,including high temperature,high pressure,high rotational speed,and other engineering problems,such as *** studies of sCO_(2)turbines are insufficient because of the significant difficulties in turbine manufacturing and system *** most experimental investigations that primarily focus on 100 kW‐or MW‐scale power generation systems,we consider,for the first time,a small‐scale power generator using sCO_(2).A partial admission axial turbine was designed and manufactured with a rated rotational speed of 40,000 rpm,and a CO_(2)transcritical power cycle test loop was constructed to validate the performance of our manufactured generator.A resistant gas was proposed in the constructed turbine expander to solve the leakage *** dynamic and steady performances were *** results indicated that a peak electric power of 11.55 kW was achieved at 29,369 *** maximum total efficiency of the turbo‐generator was 58.98%,which was affected by both the turbine rotational speed and pressure ratio,according to the proposed performance map.

Accelerating spectral digital image correlation computation with Taylor series image reconstruction

In this paper,we introduce an accelerating algorithm based on the Taylor series for reconstructing target images in the spectral digital image correlation method(SDIC).The Taylor series image reconstruction method is employed instead of the previous direct Fourier transform(DFT)image reconstruction method,which consumes the majority of the computational time for target image *** partial derivatives in the Taylor series are computed using the fast Fourier transform(FFT)of the entire image,following the principles of Fourier transform *** examine the impact of different orders of Taylor series expansion on accuracy and efficiency,we employ third-and fourth-order Taylor series image reconstruction methods and compare them with the DFT image reconstruction method through simulated *** a result of these enhancements,the computational efficiency using the third-and fourth-order Taylor series improves by factors of 57 and 46,respectively,compared to the previous *** terms of analysis accuracy,within a strain range of 0–0.1 and without the addition of image noise,the accuracy of the proposed method increases with higher expansion orders,surpassing that of the DFT image reconstruction method when the fourth order is ***,when different levels of Gaussian noise are applied to simulated images individually,the accuracy of the third-or fourth-order Taylor series expansion method is superior to that of the DFT reconstruction ***,we present the analyzed experimental results of a silicone rubber plate specimen with bilateral cracks under uniaxial tension.

A dynamic exploratory hybrid modelling framework for simulating complex and uncertain system

Complex disaster systems involve various components and mechanisms that could interact in complex ways and change over time,leading to significant deep *** to deep uncertainty,decision-makers have severe inadequacy of knowledge and often encounter unpredictable surprises that may emerge in the future,thus making it difficult to specify appropriate models and parameters to describe the system of *** this paper,we propose a dynamic exploratory hybrid modeling framework that fits data,models,and computational ex-periments together to simulate complex systems with deep *** the framework,one needs to develop multiple plausible models from a hybrid modeling perspective and perform enormous computational experi-ments to explore the diversity of future ***-time data is then incorporated into diverse forecasts to dynamically adjust the simulation *** ultimately enables an ongoing modeling and analysis process in which deep uncertainty would be gradually *** approach has been applied to a human-involved car-following system simulation under complex traffic *** results show that the proposed approach can improve the prediction accuracy while enhancing the sensitivity of the simulation system to uncertain changes in the system of interest.

Study on vibration reduction of two-scale system coupled with dynamic vibration absorber

The dynamic vibration absorber with inerter and grounded stiffness(IGDVA)is used to control a two-scale system subject to a weak periodic *** vibration suppression effect is *** amplitude of the main system coupled with absorber is significantly reduced,and the high frequency vibration completely ***,through the slow-fast analysis and stability theory,it is found that the stability of the autonomous system exerts a notable regulating effect on the vibration response of the non-autonomous *** adding the dynamic vibrator absorber,the center in the autonomous system changes to an asymptotically stable focus,consequently suppressing the vibration in the non-autonomous *** research reveals that the parameters of the absorber affect the real parts of the eigenvalues of the autonomous system,thereby regulating the stability of the *** from a qualitative standpoint to a quantitative approach,a comparison of the solutions before and after the introduction of the dynamic absorber reveals that,when the grounded stiffness ratio and the mass ratio of the dynamic absorber are not equal,the high-frequency part in the analytical solution *** a result,this leads to a reduction in the amplitude of the trajectory,achieving a vibration reduction effect.
