BACKGROUND Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)have large fluctuations in blood glucose(BG),abnormal metabolic function and low immunity to varying degrees,which increases the risk of malignant tumor diseases and affects the efficacy of tumor *** hyperglycemia may have important therapeutic implications for cancer *** To clarify the influence of BG fluctuations on chemotherapy efficacy and safety in T2DM patients complicated with lung carcinoma(LC).METHODS The clinical data of 60 T2DM+LC patients who presented to the First Affiliated Hospital of ningbo university between January 2019 and January 2021 were retrospectively *** patients underwent chemotherapy and were grouped as a control group(CG;normal BG fluctuation with a mean fluctuation<3.9 mmol/L)and an observation group(OG;high BG fluctuation with a mean fluctuation≥3.9 mmol/L)based on their BG fluctuations,with 30 cases *** indices,tumor markers,serum inflammatory cytokines and adverse reactions were comparatively *** correlation analysis was performed to analyze the correlation between BG fluctuations and tumor *** The fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels in the OG were notably elevated compared with those in the CG,together with markedly higher mean amplitude of glycemic excursions(MAGE),mean of daily differences,largest amplitude of glycemic excursions and standard deviation of blood glucose(P<0.05).In addition,the OG exhibited evidently higher levels of carbohydrate antigen 19-9,carbohydrate antigen 125,carcinoembryonic antigen,neuron-specific enolase,cytokeratin 19,tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,and highsensitivity C-reactive protein than the CG(P<0.05).Pearson analysis revealed a positive association of MAGE with serum tumor *** incidence of adverse reactions was significantly higher in the OG than in the CG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The greater the BG fluctuation in LC patients after

Mode splitters that directly separate modes without changing their orders are highly promising to improve the flexibility of the mode-division multiplexing *** this paper,we design a high-performance mode splitter on the silicon-oninsulator platform with a compact footprint of 14μm×2.5μm using an inverse design method based on shape *** fabrication of this mode splitter requires only a single lithography step and exhibits good fabrication *** experimental results show that the proposed device exhibits state-of-the-art insertion loss(<0.9 dB)and cross talk(<-16 dB)over a broad bandwidth(1500-1600 nm).Furthermore,the shape optimization method used is implemented to design a dual-mode(de)multiplexer,and the experimental results fulfill the design objective,demonstrating the excellent generality of the design method in this paper.

Gluing support τ-tilting modules via symmetric ladders of height 2

Gluing techniques with respect to a recollement have long been studied. Recently, ladders of recollements of abelian categories were introduced as important tools. In this paper, we present explicit constructions of gluing support τ-tilting modules via symmetric ladders of height two. Moreover, we apply the result to triangular matrix algebras to give a detailed version of the known Jasso's reduction and study maximal green sequences.

Topologically Correct Intersection Curves of Two Trimmed Quadrics with Tolerance Control

Surface/surface intersection is a fundamental problem in Compute Aided Design and Geometric Modeling since it is essential to solid modeling, numerically controlled machining, feature recognition, computer animation, etc. In practical applications, quadric surfaces, which are the most basic type of surfaces, are typically bounded surfaces trimmed by a sequence of planes. In this paper,a robust algorithm is proposed for computing the intersection curve segments of two trimmed quadrics based on the parametric representation of the intersection curves of two quadrics. The proposed algorithm guarantees correct topology and ensures that the approximation errors of the end points of the intersection curve segments are less than a given tolerance. The error control is based on an effective solution to a set of polynomial inequality system using the root isolation technique. Some examples are presented to validate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Objective Acute myeloid leukemia(AML)is an aggressive hematological malignancy characterized by abnormal myeloid blast *** studies have demonstrated that circular RNAs play a role in AML *** this study,we aimed to investigate the clinical significance of circ_0012152 in AML and elucidate its underlying molecular mechanism in the pathogenesis of this *** Circ_0012152 expression was detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in samples obtained from 247 patients with AML and 40 healthy controls.A systematic analysis of clinical characteristics and prognostic factors was also *** growth was assessed using the Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assay,and apoptosis and cell cycle progression were evaluated by flow ***,RNA pull-down was performed to identify target microRNAs,and transcriptome RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analyses were utilized to identify downstream mRNA *** Circ_0012152 was significantly upregulated in samples from patients with AML and served as an independent adverse prognostic factor for overall survival(OS)(hazard ratio:2.357;95%confidence interval 1.258–4.415).The circ_0012152 knockdown reduced cell growth,increased apoptosis,and inhibited cell cycle progression in AML cell *** pull-down and sequencing identified miR-652-3p as a target microRNA of circ_*** growth inhibition by circ_0012152 knockdown was significantly relieved by miR-652-3p *** suggested that miR-652-3p targeted SOX4,as the decrease in SOX4 expression resulting from circ_0012152 knockdown was upregulated by miR-652-3p inhibitors in AML *** Circ_0012152 is an independent poor prognostic factor for OS in AML,and it promotes AML cell growth by upregulating SOX4 through miR-652-3p.

Effects of multiple shapes for steady flow with transformer oil+Fe_(3)O_(4)+TiO_(2) between two stretchable rotating disks

In this study,we examine the effects of various shapes of nanoparticles in a steady flow of hybrid nanofluids between two stretchable rotating *** steady flow of hybrid nanofluids with transformer oil as the base fluid and Fe_(3)O_(4)+TiO_(2)as the hybrid nanofluid is *** shapes of Fe_(3)O_(4)+TiO_(2)hybrid nanofluids,including sphere,brick,blade,cylinder,and platelet,are *** shape exists in the same volume of a *** leading equations(partial differential equations(PDEs))are transformed to the nonlinear ordinary differential equations(ODEs)with the help of similarity *** system of equations takes the form of ODEs depending on the boundary conditions,whose solutions are computed numerically by the bvp4c MATLAB *** outputs are compared with the previous findings,and an intriguing pattern is discovered,such that the tangential velocity is increased for the rotation parameter,while it is decreased by the stretching values because of the lower *** the reaction rate parameter,the concentration boundary layer becomes shorter,and the activation energy component increases the rate at which mass transfers come to the higher disk but have the opposite effect on the bottom *** ranges of various parameters taken into account are Pr=6.2,Re=2,M=1.0,φ_(1)=φ_(2)=0.03,K=0.5,S=-0.1,Br=0.3,Sc=2.0,α_(1)=0.2,γ=0.1,E_(n)=2.0,and q=1.0,and the rotation factor K is within the range of 0 to 1.
