China＇ s economy has witnessed serious excessive investment over the past 5 years, mainly in the infrastructure and real estate. Excessive investment has adverse impacts on both economic growth and macroeconomic stability. The main causes of this excessive investment are inappropriate growth strategies, low interest rates and weak constraints on government investment expenditure. To effectively control excessive investment, China needs to adjust its growth strategy, to speed up the process of interest rate marketization, and reform the existing public expenditure system.

Industry collapse has become an importantphenomenon in China＇s recent economic growth fluctuation. This paper develops a simple model to analyze this phenomenon. Our analysis focuses on an external demand decline-caused industry collapse. The model reveals that the combination of large-scale decline in external demand with a horizontal domestic supply curve causes the domestic export industry to undergo a sharp decrease in output in a short period of time, which further leads to a sharp decline in employment. The conventional stabilization policy is less effective in coping with this sudden industry collapse. The Chinese Government needs to formulate an appropriate structural industry stabilization policy to cope with the sudden industry collapse, and, in particular, to implement a direct employment aid program to deal with unemployment resulting from the industry collapse.

China became the world's second largest liquefied natural gas(LNG)importer in 2018 but has faced extremely high import costs due to a lack of bargaining *** of the Shanghai LNG Price Index,first released in 2015,are vital for improving the understanding of these cost *** paper,using the LNG price index data from the Shanghai Petroleum and Gas Exchange(SHPGX)coupled with domestic and international LNG prices from July 1,2015 to December 31,2018,estimates several econometric models to evaluate the long-term and short-term equilibriums of the Shanghai LNG Price Index,the responses to market information shocks and the leading or lagging relationships with LNG and alternative energy prices from other *** results show that the LNG price index of the SHPGX has already exhibited a long-term equilibrium and short-term adjustment mechanisms to reflect the average price level and market movements,but the market information transparency and price discovery efficiency of the index are still ***'s LNG market is still relatively independent of other natural gas markets,and marketization reforms are under way in *** influence of the SHPGX LNG price index on the trading decisions of market participants is expected to improve with further development of China's LNG reforms,the formation of a natural gas entry-exit system,and the increasing liquidity of the hub.

Maybe it is the most important medical reform for current China to adopt the bid-and-procurement scheme to correct the distortion of pharmaceutical resources allocation. Nevertheless, overpriced drugs often happen. This article aims to identify potential factors leading to the overpriced. Based on the mechanism rules of the scheme, it is found that unethical doctors are crucial to high price markup in the pricing pattern of drugs. Under China＇s actual conditions, asymmetric ownership is identified to be another cause of the overpriced by developing an asymmetric bidding model. How are the impacts of these two factors to be alleviated？ Upon examination, several reform measures cannot effectively avoid the occurrence of the overpriced. Yet, the issue is very urgent for China because it is facing with the problem of population aging. Therefore, alternative options - a regulation-penalty tool and an investment subsidy policy - are proposed to improve China＇s health care.

This study analyzes the impact of biomass energy,financial development,and economic growth on environmental quality using the novel Fourier autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)approach on annual data for the period 1965–2018 in the United States(USA).The study analyzes the impact of related variables on the load capacity factor(LCF)as well as on indicators of environmental degradation such as carbon dioxide emissions and ecological *** LCF is one of the most comprehensive environmental indicators to date,encompassing both biocapacity and ecological *** this regard,this study contributes to the environmental economics literature by examining,for the first time,the impact of biomass energy on the *** results of the cointegration test show that there is only a long-run relationship between the LCF and the independent *** to the Fourier ARDL results,biomass energy improves the environmental quality,while financial development has no effect on the ***,the increase in per capita income reduces the ***,since the income elasticity is larger in the long run than in the short-run,the environmental Kuznets curve is ***,the United States government should encourage the use of biomass and investment in this form of energy.

From the perspective of international trade efficiency and trade uncertainty,this paper analyzes the impact of digital economy development(DED)in importing countries on China’s ***,importing countries’DED can reduce the trade cost of China’s exports,and then improve the export efficiency of *** the other hand,the intensified market competition in importing countries resulting from DED and the changes in data transmission policies may also increase the uncertainty of China’s export *** paper uses the networked readiness index(NRI)to measure the DED level of different countries,and the heterogeneous stochastic frontier gravity(HSFG)model to empirically analyze the data of China’s exports to 115 countries and regions in the period of 2007−*** results show that the DED in importing countries can significantly reduce the loss of China’s export efficiency and improve the efficiency of China’s export trade,and this effect is more obvious for China’s exports to low-and middle-income ***,importing countries’DED may also increase the uncertainty of China’s export *** development of global digital economy brings new opportunities to international trade and new challenges to China’s *** paper provides a basis for China to strengthen its own DED,deepen international exchanges and cooperation,guide enterprises’transformation and upgrading,and improve their competitiveness and anti-risk capability.

Corporate Investment and Tax Disincentive： Evidence from China

This study investigates how taxes influence corporate investment behavior. Based on a census of Chinese industrial enterprises, we utilize a tax-adjusted q model to examine the effects of taxes on corporate investment in fixed assets in China. Results show that the effective tax rate has a relatively small but significantly negative impact on Chinese firms＇ investment in fixed assets. We extend the tax-adjusted q model to control for the lagged investment effect and peer effect of investment. Models with these effects do better at explaining the impact of taxes on firms＇ investment. The lagged investment models present smaller but significant tax disincentive. Firms compete for investment with other firms both in the same region and in the same industry through peer effect. In addition, the tax disincentive differs among state owned enterprises, private enterprises, and other enterprises in China.
