Vacuum poloidal magnetic field of tokamak in alternating-current （AC） operation is investigated. It is found that the vacuum magnetic field in AC operation is qualitatively different from that in direct-current （DC） operation. In the DC case, the vacuum magnetic field varies along the poloidal direction with one period, while in the AC case, the vacuum magnetic field varies along the poloidal direction with two periods. This implies that two sets of vertical field coil may be needed for the AC operation.

We report the dc and rf performance of graphene rf field-effect transistors,where the graphene films are grown on copper by using the chemical vapour deposition (CVD) method and transferred to SiO2/Si *** materials,benzocyclobutene and atomic layer deposition Al2O3 are used as the gate *** observation of n- and p-type transitions verifies the ambipolar characteristics in the graphene *** the intrinsic carrier mobility of CVD graphene is extracted to be 1200cm2/V·s,the parasitic series resistances are demonstrated to have a serious impact on device *** a gate length of 1 μm and an extrinsic transconductance of 72 mS/mm,a cutoff frequency of 6.6 GHz and a maximum oscillation frequency of 8.8 GHz are measured for the transistors,illustrating the potential of the CVD graphene for rf applications.

In the context of global warming,escalating water cycles have led to a surge in drought frequency and ***,multidecadal fluctuations in drought and their multifaceted influencing factors remain inadequately *** study examined the multidecadal changes in drought characteristics(frequency,duration,and severity)and their geographical focal points within China's north-south transitional zone,the Qinling-Daba Mountains(QDM),from 1960 to 2017 using the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI).In addition,a suite of eight scenarios,correlation analysis,and wavelet coherence were used to identify the meteorological and circulation factors that influenced drought *** results indicate the following:(1)From 1960 to 2017,the QDM experienced significant interdecadal variations in drought frequency,duration,and severity,the climate was relatively humid before the 1990s,but drought intensified ***,the 1990s marked the period of the longest drought duration and greatest severity,while the years spanning 2010 to 2017 experienced the highest frequency of drought events.(2)Spatially,the Qinling Mountains,particularly the western Qinling Mountain,exhibited higher drought frequency,duration,and severity than the Daba *** disparity can be attributed to higher rates of temperature increase and precipitation decrease in the western Qinling Mountain.(3)Interdecadal variations in droughts in the QDM were directly influenced by the synergistic effects of interdecadal fluctuations in air temperature and *** factors modulate temperature and precipitation through phase transitions,thereby affecting drought dynamics in the *** Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation emerges as the primary circulation factors influencing temperature changes,with a mid-1990s shift to a positive phase favoring *** East Asian Summer Monsoon and El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation are the main circulation factors a

This paper describes a micro thermal shear stress sensor with a cavity underneath, based on vacuum anodic bonding and bulk micromachined technology. A Ti/Pt alloy strip, 2μm×100μm, is deposited on the top of a thin silicon nitride diaphragm and functioned as the thermal sensor element. By using vacuum anodic bonding and bulk-si anisotropic wet etching process instead of the sacrificial-layer technique, a cavity, functioned as the adiabatic vacuum chamber, 200μm×200μm×400μm, is placed between the silicon nitride diaphragm and glass （Corning 7740）. This method totally avoid adhesion problem which is a major issue of the sacrificial-layer technique.

We theoretically study the transport properties in the T-shaped double-quantum-dot structure,by considering the dot in the main channel to be coupled to the Majorana bound state(MBS)at one end of the topological superconducting *** is found that the side-coupled dot governs the effect of the MBS on the transport *** its level is consistent with the energy zero point,the MBS contributes little to the conductance ***,the linear conductance exhibits notable changes according to the inter-MBS coupling *** the absence of inter-MBS coupling,the linear conductance value keeps equal to e^(2)/2 h when the level of the side-coupled dot departs from the energy zero ***,the linear conductance is always analogous to the MBS-absent case once the inter-MBS coupling comes into *** findings provide new information about the leakage effect of MBSs in quantum-dot structures.

Geochemical Characteristics of a Carbonatite Dyke Rich in Rare Earths from Bayan Obo, China

The whole-rock geochemistry of a rare earths rich carbonatite dykes that locates at Dulahala and lies 3 km north-east to the East Ore body of the giant Bayan Obo RE-Nb-Fe deposit was analysed. The dyke cuts cross H1 coarse quartz sandstone and H2 fine quartzite of the Proterozoic Bayan Obo group. RE content in the dyke varies greatly up to 20% (mass fraction), which comprises rich RE ores. Light RE in carbonatites are extremely enriched and strongly fractionated relative to heavy RE, but no Eu anomaly. The carbonatite may be produced by mechanisms as follows: the carbonatite mana is directly formed by very low degree (F <1%) partial melting of enriched lithospheric mantle, leaving residual minerals characterized by abundant garnet; then the magma arises into a chamber within the crust where they will undergo fractional crystallization, which makes RE further concentrated in carbonatite. The RE patterns and spider diagrams of the carbonatite are identical to those fine-grained dolomite marble that is the ore-host rock for the Bayan Obo deposit. However, the carbonatite is calcic, which is different from the fine-grained dolomite marble in major element geochemistry. The difference is suggested to be resulted from that the carbonatite dyke is not affected by a large scale dolomitization, while the fine-grained dolomite marble might be the product of dolomitized carbonatite intrusive body that might set up a hydrothermal system in the region, which transported Mg from the Bayan Obo sediments, especially form the shales to the carbonatite intrusion.

The slash-and-burn system is a subsistence agronomical practice widespread in tropical areas *** system has been extensively studied,especially for its impacts on agronomical aspects and soil physicochemical properties;however,knowledge of soil microbial diversity under slash and bum is *** this study,for the first time,soil bacterial diversity of three locations from Central Mozambique,where slash and burn has been practiced for different durations of the forest fallow period(ca.25,35,and 50 years),was elucidated through a metataxonomic *** communities were evaluated in the genetic horizons of soils under charcoal kilns,crop fields,and *** aim of this study was to examine the influence of spatial(location and land use),temporal(forest fallow period),and vertical(horizon)variations on bacterial community structure in relation to soil physicochemical *** analysis detected 25 different phyla whose distribution varied horizontally and vertically in relation to soil properties(i.e.,p H,easily oxidizable organic carbon,total nitrogen,and available phosphorus),as well as particle size distribution and mineralogical *** properties were strongly affected and altered by land-use management;in particular,charcoal kilns exhibited better soil properties and greater differences in bacterial community than crop fields and forests,which were quite *** might suggest the inability of a forest fallow period shorter than 50 years to improve soil fertility and induce changes in bacterial *** uncommon application of the pedological approach for microbial evaluation facilitated the detection of a clear separation in bacterial composition along the soil profile,with eutrophic bacteria mainly located in the A horizon whereas oligotrophic bacteria were found in the Bo *** horizontal and vertical heterogeneities in the same study represent a novelty for bacterial metataxonomic analysis.
