In this paper,indium doped SnO2 nanorods and nanowires have been prepared by the molten salt method,and the effects of indium doping concentration on the morphology and electrical properties of one-dimensional(1D) SnO2 nanostructures have been *** is found that indium doping concentration can affect the epitaxial growth,morphology and the electrical conductance of 1D SnO2 *** is also found that the element made by using 6 mol% indium doped SnO2 nanorods responds to nitrogen gas.

The purpose of this study was to identify the adolescents’ food preferences during school break. This was a qualitative cross-sectional study with 83 adolescents from a public school in the city of S?o Paulo. The participants answered the following question: During the school break do you usually eat or drink something? Please justify your answer. The adolescents’ answers were analyzed through a Brazilian qualitative technique called Discourse of the Collective Subject. The ideas were: School Meal Program (36.2%), don’t eat anything (26.7%), bring from other establishments (20.1%) and drink water or juice (17.1%). The adolescents who chose the School Meal Program claimed they had no other options. On the other hand, the participants who refused the meal did so because they disliked it and as a result brought snacks from home or food markets. The Discourse of the Collective Subject helps the investigator to understand the ideas related to food and nutrition of a collectivity.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a common medical condition worldwide and its prevalence has increased notably in the past few years due to the increases in prevalence of obesity and metabolic syndrome. However, diagnosis of this disease is still a matter of debate because of disease variations and pathophysiologic alterations. Specific single markers have gained con-siderable attention recently, among them markers related to hepatic pathophysiology, inflammation, adipocytokines and so forth. But, it seems that no single marker is sufficient for diagnosis and staging of the disease, and applying a panel including different types of tests may be more useful.

Copper （Cu） contamination in the environment has been increased during the years with agricultural and industrial activities. Biotechnological approaches are needed for bioremediation in these areas. The aims of this study were i） to evaluate the phytoreme- diation capacity of the high-yielding bioenergy plant castor bean （Ricinus communis L.） in vineyard soils （Inceptisol and Mollisol） contaminated with Cu and a Cu mining waste; ii） to characterize the castor bean as a Cu phytoremediation plant; and iii） to evaluate the nutrient uptake by castor bean. Castor bean plants cultivated in soil with toxic levels of Cu for 57 d exhibited high phytomass production, a high tolerance index of roots＇ fresh mass and shoots＇ dry mass, a high level of Cu phytoaccumulation in the roots and also, a robust capacity for Cu phytostabilization. Furthermore, castor bean plants did not significantly deplete soil nutrients （such as N, P, and Mg） during cultivation. Plants cultivated in Inceptisol, Mollisol and Cu mining waste exhibited a strong potential for Cu phytoaccumulation, with values of 5900, 3 052 and 2805 g ha-1, respectively. In addition, the castor bean＇s elevated phytomass production and strong growth in Cu-contaminated soils indicated a high level of Cu phytoaccumulation and a potential application in biofuels. These findings indicate that the castor bean is a efficient hyperaccumulator of Cu and a potential candidate plant for the phytoremediation of Cu-contaminated soil.

Comparison of the Colonization Ability of Autochthonous and Allochthonous Strains of Lactobacilli in the Human Gastrointestinal Tract

Bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus are widely used as oral probiotics due to their putative health benefits. In this study, we compared the colonization ability of two Lactobacillus strains that were identified as autochthonous to the human gastrointestinal tract (Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC PTA 6475 (MM4-1a) and (Lactobacillus mucosae FSL-04) with that of an allochthonous strain (Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1). Colonization ability was tested in a single-blinded, cross-over study, with twelve human subjects. The test strains were quantified in fecal samples by two independent methods, selective plating and molecular typing and quantitative real time PCR. The study revealed that the two autochthonous strains (L. reuteri ATCC PTA 6475 and L. mucosae FSL-04) reached higher population levels in fecal samples and were recovered more frequently from subjects compared to the allochthonous strain (L. acidophilus DDS-1). All three strains became undetectable 8 days after the end of consumption with one exception, showing that persistence of all three strains remains short term in most individuals. In conclusion, this study showed that autochthonous Lactobacillus strains can be established more efficiently, albeit temporarily, in the human gastrointestinal tract, suggesting that evolutionary and ecological characteristics could be valuable criteria for the selection of probiotic strains.

Body condition score(BCS)is an important management tool in the modern dairy industry,and one of the basic techniques for animal welfare and precision dairy *** objective of this study was to use a vision system to evaluate the fat cover on the back of cows and to automatically determine BCS.A 3D camera was used to capture the depth images of the back of cows twice a day as each cow passed beneath the *** background subtraction,the back area of the cow was extracted from the depth *** thurl,sacral ligament,hook bone,and pin bone were located via depth image analysis and evaluated by calculating their visibility and curvature,and those four anatomical features were used to measure fatness.A dataset containing 4820 depth images of cows with 7 BCS levels was built,among which 952 images were used as training *** four anatomical features as input and BCS as output,decision tree learning,linear regression,and BP network were calibrated on the training dataset and tested on the entire *** average,the BP network model scored each cow within 0.25 BCS points compared to their manual scores during the study *** measured values of visibility and curvature used in this study have strong correlations with BCS and can be used to automatically assess BCS with high *** study demonstrates that the automatic body condition scoring system has the possibility of being more accurate than human scoring.

Effect of Extraction Methods on the Active Compounds and Antioxidant Properties of Ethanolic Extracts of Echinacea purpurea Flower

The extraction yields, active compounds and antioxidant properties of 50%-aqueous-ethanolic extracts of freeze-dried Echinacea purpurea flower with multi-steps and multi-batches extraction methods were assessed. In multi-steps extraction, the extraction yields of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd extracts were 21.52%, 9.33%, and 2.90%, and their total phenols contents were 182.08, 176.33, and 177.08 mg CAE/g, respectively, with cichoric acid (62.07 - 66.57 mg/g) being the main phenolic compound. No differences in the contents of individual and total caffeic acids derivates existed among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd extracts. The dodeca-2E, 4E, 8Z, 10(E/Z)-tetraenoic acid isobutylamide (alkamide 8/9) contents of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd extracts were 505.38, 598.61, and 585.99 µg/g, respectively. In multi-batches extraction, the extracted dry weight increased with increasing the sample batches, with the extraction yields and alkamide 8/9 contents of samples decreased from 19.93% to 12.98% and 534.36 to 269.76 µg/g, respectively. The total phenol (177.25 - 186.92 mg CAE/g), individual and total caffeic acid derivatives (85.99 - 95.06 mg/g) contents of extracts among different sample batches were not significantly different, with cichoric acid (63.66 - 70.31 mg/g) being the main phenolic compound. All the prepared extracts also exhibited potent antioxidant properties. Overall, the two-step sequential extraction is desirable for extracting bioactive compounds from freeze-dried E. purpurea flower.

Severe acute malnutrition with medical complications is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality among children under the age of 5 years. Which can be management by given Therapeutic milk, it is available only at inpatient center at hospitals. When staff and mother managed adequately, the therapeutic milk has highly effective in treating severe malnutrition and prevent any complications that can be developing. So, this study aims to Assess of the Efficacy of Therapeutic milk in Prevention Complications of Severe acute malnutrition 6 - 59 months at therapeutic feeding center. Descriptive, Cross-Sectional, Hospital-based study design was used to conduct the study. The study was carried out at Organization of AL Thora public Hospital at Hodeida city in Yemen. Total coverage 200 children 6 - 59 months of age have Sever Acute Malnutrition with complication which was 14 medical complications and admitted at Therapeutics Feeding Center. Three research tools which used for data collection. The structured face to face Interview questionnaire, anthropometric measurements, and the Structure Observation Check list. The results showed that, the obvious reduction of complication when the Comparison at admission, 1st week and 2nd week are (40.9% to 18% to 7.6%). There is highly statistically significant relationship between the therapeutic feeding which was given, resolution the complication at 1st week and 2nd week at p d to Outpatient therapeutic to complete nutritional program.
