A six-variable quasi-3D isogeometric approach for free vibration of functionally graded graphene origami-enabled auxetic metamaterial plates submerged in a fluid medium

This paper presents, for the first time, an effective numerical approach based on the isogeometric analysis(IGA) and the six-variable quasi-three dimensional(3D)higher-order shear deformation theory(HSDT) to study the free vibration characteristics of functionally-graded(FG) graphene origami(GOri)-enabled auxetic metamaterial(GOEAM) plates submerged in a fluid medium. The plate theory incorporates the thickness stretching and the effects of transverse shear deformation without using any shear correction factors. The velocity potential function and Bernoulli's equation are used to derive the hydrodynamic pressure acting on the plate surface. Both horizontally and vertically immersed plate configurations are considered here in the form of inertia *** plates are composed of multilayer GOEAMs, with the GOri content varying through the plate's thickness in a layer-wise manner. This design results in graded auxetic *** material properties are evaluated by mixing rules and a genetic programming(GP)-assisted micromechanical model. The governing equations of motion for the FG-GOEAM plates immersed in a fluid medium are derived by Hamilton's principle. After validating the convergence and accuracy of the present model, a comprehensive parametric study is carried out to examine the effects of the GOri content, GOri distribution pattern, GOri folding degree, fluid level, immersed depth, and geometric parameter on the natural frequencies of the FG-GOEAM plates. The results show that the natural frequencies for the four GOri distribution patterns increase with the increase in the layer number when the lay number is fewer than 10, and then stabilize after the layer number reaches ***, in general, the natural frequency of the FG-GOEAM plate in a vacuum or fluid increases when the GOri content increases, while decreases when the GOri folding degree increases. Deep ResNet Strategy for the Classification of Wind Shear Intensity Near Airport Runway

Intense wind shear(I-WS)near airport runways presents a critical challenge to aviation safety,necessi-tating accurate and timely classification to mitigate risks during takeoff and *** study proposes the application of advanced Residual Network(ResNet)architectures including ResNet34 and ResNet50 for classifying I-WS and Non-Intense Wind Shear(NI-WS)events using Doppler Light Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)data from Hong Kong International Airport(HKIA).Unlike conventional models such as feedforward neural networks(FNNs),convolutional neural networks(CNNs),and recurrent neural networks(RNNs),ResNet provides a distinct advantage in addressing key challenges such as capturing intricate WS dynamics,mitigating vanishing gradient issues in deep architectures,and effectively handling class imbalance when combined with Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE).The analysis results revealed that ResNet34 outperforms other models with a Balanced Accuracy of 0.7106,Probability of Detection of 0.8271,False Alarm Rate of 0.328,F1-score of 0.7413,Matthews Correlation Coefficient of 0.433,and Geometric Mean of 0.701,demonstrating its effectiveness in classifying I-WS *** findings of this study not only establish ResNet as a valuable tool in the domain of WS classification but also provide a reliable framework for enhancing operational safety at airports.

Analysis of Nuclear Structure Properties and Stellar β-decay Rates of Even–Even 106–120Zr Isotopes

The nuclear ground state properties of even–even106–120Zr nuclei have been investigated within the framework of the relativistic mean field （RMF） *** RMF model with density-dependent DDME2 and DDPC1interactions is utilized for the calculation of potential energy curves,the nuclear ground-state deformation parameters （β2）,neutron separation energies (S_nand S2n) and neutron skin thickness (rnp) of selected Zr ***,the β-decay properties of Zr isotopes were studied using the proton-neutron quasi-particle random phase approximation （pn-QRPA） *** include Gamow–Teller strength distributions,β-decay half-lives and stellar electron emission/positron capture *** β2values computed from the RMF model were employed in the pn-QRPA model as an input parameter for the calculations of β-decay properties for even–even106–120Zr *** stellar rates were computed using the pn-QRPA framework with three different types of deformation *** at high temperature （T9≥2） and low density (ρYe≤10～7g cm-3) values,the sum of electron emission and positron capture rates has a sizeable contribution （with positive exponents） to the stellar rates.

Bi-directional interaction of joint shear strength in non-seismically designed corner RC beam-column connections under seismic loading

Non-seismically designed(NSD)beam-column joints are susceptible to joint shear failure under seismic *** significant research is available on the seismic behavior of such joints of planar frames,the information on the seismic behavior of joints of space frames(3D joints)is *** 3D joints are subjected to bi-directional excitation,which results in an interaction between the shear strength obtained for the joint in the two orthogonal directions *** bi-directional seismic behavior of corner reinforced concrete(RC)joints is the focus of this ***,a detailed finite element(FE)model using the FE software Abaqus,is developed and validated using the test results from the *** validated modeling procedure is used to conduct a parametric study to investigate the influence of different parameters such as concrete strength,dimensions of main and transverse beams framing into the joint,presence or absence of a slab,axial load ratio and loading direction on the seismic behavior of *** subjecting the models to different combinations of loads on the beams along perpendicular directions,the interaction of the joint shear strength in two orthogonal directions is *** comparison of the interaction curves of the joints obtained from the numerical study with a quadratic(circular)interaction curve indicates that in a majority of cases,the quadratic interaction model can represent the strength interaction diagrams of RC beam to column connections with governing joint shear failure reasonably well.

Effects of Repair Grouting and Jacketing on Corrosion Concrete Using Ultrasonic Method

Concrete is one of the most important elements in building ***,concrete used in construction is susceptible to damage due to *** influence of corrosive substances causes changes in the reinforcing steel and affects the strength of the *** repair method is one approach to overcome this *** research aims to determine the effect of grouting and jacketing repairs on corroded *** concrete used has dimensions of 15 cm×15 cm×60 cm with planned corrosion variations of 50%,60%,and 70%.The test objects were tested using the Non-Destructive Testing(NDT)method using Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity(UPV).The test results show that the average speed of normal concrete is 5070 m/s,while the lowest average speed is 3070 m/s on the 70%planned corrosion test *** test object was then given a load of 1600 *** this stage,there is a decrease in speed and wave shape with the lowest average speed obtained at 2753 m/*** repair method is an effort to restore concrete performance by using grouting and *** is done by injecting mortar material into *** involves adding thickness to the existing concrete layer with additional layers of *** improvements were made,there was an improvement in the UPV test,with a peak speed value of 4910 m/*** concrete by filling cracks can improve concrete continuity and reduce waveform distortion,thereby increasing wave propagation speed.

Effect of surface crack on the bearing capacity of strip footing placed on rock mass

In hilly regions,the existence of surface cracks in rock mass induces a potential threat to structural ***,the present research aims to explore the impact of surface cracks on the loadbearing capacity of strip footing placed on the rock *** taking into account the various boundary constraints across the surface of crack edges,the study investigates the presence of two categories of surface cracks,namely(1)separated crack,and(2)fine *** lower bound limit analysis is employed in conjunction with the finite element method(LBFELA)to conduct the numerical *** order to evaluate rock mass yielding,the power conic programming(PCP)method is utilized to implement the generalized Hoek-Brown(GHB)failure *** stability of the strip footing is analyzed by determining the bearing capacity factor(Nσγ),which is presented in the form of design charts by varying the strength parameters of rock,including the Geological Strength Index(GSI),Hoek-Brown material parameter(mi),Disturbance factor(D),and Normalised Uniaxial Compressive Strength(σci/γB),whereγis the unit weight of rock mass,and B is the width of strip *** study also investigates the impact of cracks on strip footings,considering different positions of the crack(LC)and depths of the crack(DC).The results demonstrate that the influence of the fine crack is only noticeable until the LC/B ratio reaches ***,for the separated crack,its impact remains significant even when the LC/B ratio exceeds *** appearance of fine crack at the edge of the footing results in a decrease in the magnitude Nσγof up to 45%,indicating a substantial reduction in the stability of the *** failure patterns are presented and discussed in detail for various cases in this study to examine the effect of surface cracks on the strip footing and to address the extent of the plastic collapse.
