Relationship Between Soil Microbial Biomass C and N and Mineralizable Nitrogen in Some Arable Soils on Loess Plateau

The chloroform fumigation-incubation method was used to measure the soil microbial biomass C (SMBC)and N (SMBN) in 16 loessial soils sampled from Ausai, Yongshou and Yangling in Shaanxi Province. The SMBC contents in the soils ranged from 75.9 to 301.0 μg Cg-1 with an average of 206.1 μg C g-1, accounting for 1.36%～6.24% of the total soil organic C with an average of 3.07%, and the SMBN contents from 0.51 to 68.40 μg N g-1 with an average of 29.4 μg N g-1, accounting for 0.20%～5.65% of the total N in the soils with an average of 3.36%. A close relationship was found between SMBC and SMBN, and they both were positively correlated with total organic C, total N, NaOH hydrolizable N and mineralizable N. These results confirmed that soil microbial biomass had a comparative role in nutrient cycles of soils.

Objective:Histology grade,subtypes and TNM stage of lung adenocarcinomas are useful predictors of prognosis and *** aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between chromosomal instability,morphological subtypes and the grading system used in lung non-mucinous adenocarcinoma(LNMA).Methods:We developed a whole genome copy number variation(WGCNV)scoring system and applied next generation sequencing to evaluate CNVs present in 91 LNMA tumor ***:Higher histological grades,aggressive subtypes and more advanced TNM staging were associated with an increased WGCNV score,particularly in CNV regions enriched for tumor suppressor genes and *** addition,we demonstrate that 24-chromosome CNV profiling can be performed reliably from specific cell types(<100 cells)isolated by sample laser capture ***:Our findings suggest that the WGCNV scoring system we developed may have potential value as an adjunct test for predicting the prognosis of patients diagnosed with LNMA.

With an understanding of the processes of methane production, oxidation and emission, a semi-empirical model, focused on the contributions of rice plants to the processes and also the influence of environmental factors, was developed to predict methane emission from rice paddy soils. In the present model, the amount of methane transported from the soil to the atmosphere was determined by the rates of CH4 production and an emitted fraction. The rates of CH4 production in irrigated rice soils were computed from the availability of methanogenic substrates that are primarily derived from rice plaaes and added organic matter and the influence of soil texture, soil redox potential and temperature. The fraction of methane emitted was assumed to be modulated by the rice plants and declines with rice growth and development. TO make it applicable to a wider area with limited data sets, a simplified version of the model was also derived to predict methane emission in a more practical manner.

Current treatment of vitiligo is still a great challenge,since most cases of vitiligo have variable re-pigmentation outcomes due to their unpredictable responses to existing therapeutic *** is an urgent need to identify this re-pigmentation process and to develop novel *** review illustrates the most current research and latest understanding of vitiligo skin re-pigmentation and related regulatory *** was collected from PubMed until January 2020,using the search terms including"vitiligo,""re-pigmentation,""phototherapy,""narrow-band ultraviolet B,""excimer,""fractional carbon dioxide laser,"and"melanocyte stem cells."Literature was mainly derived from English *** type was not *** evidence suggests that patients with vitiligo present various re-pigmentation patterns following ultraviolet B phototherapy,which relies on different cell reservoirs from the perilesional margins and/or from uninvolved hair follicles to replenish functional melanocytes that are lost in vitiliginous *** following events are likely to be involved in this re-pigmentation process,including:1)changes in the paracrine secretion and distribution of transforming growth factor-β1 in the bulge area and in the epidermis;2)the enhanced transfer of dermal pro-melanogenic growth factors to the epidermis;and 3)the induction of a C-X-C motif chemokine ligand(CXCL)12-enriched micro-environment that efficiently recruits CXCR4-or CXCR7-positive *** studies on the cellular and molecular events underlying vitiligo re-pigmentation will help design new therapeutic strategies to improve treatment outcomes.

Dear Editor,In *** present an efficient full-path optical calculation by using the Bluestein method.A real optical apparatus for laser processing,imaging,or optical tweezing normally involves diverse optical lenses with different physical and numerical apertures(NA).In such applications,the optical path is usually tortuous and *** assist in the design,evaluation,and alignment of optical instruments,it is advantageous to retrieve the optical field in an arbitrary position along the entire optical path,which is termed the full-path calculation in our paper,with sufficient accuracy and *** particular,high flexibility is required to accommodate the mismatch between optical apertures of different components in the optical *** present a fullpath optical calculation method by adopting the Bluestein method to address this realistic demand.
