The East African Orogen involves a collage of Proterozoic microcontinents and arc terranes that became wedged between older cratonic blocks during the assembly of *** Ediacaran-Cambrian Ambalavao and Maevarano Suites in Madagascar were emplaced during the waning orogenic stages and consist of weakly deformed to undeformed plutonic rocks and dykes of mainly porphyritic granite but also gabbro,diorite and charnockite.U-Pb geochronological data date emplacement of the Ambalavao Suite to between ca.580 Ma and 540 Ma and the Maevarano Suite to between ca.537 Ma and522 *** and trace element concentrations are consistent with emplacement in a syn-to postcollisional tectonic setting as A-type(anorogenic) ***(δ^(18)O of 5.27‰-7.45‰) and hafnium(ε(Hf)(t) of-27.8 to-12.3) isotopic data from plutons in the Itremo and Antananarivo Domains are consistent with incorporation of an ancient crustal *** primitive δ^(18)O(5.27‰-5.32‰) andε(Hf)(t)(+0.0 to+0.2) isotopic values recorded in samples collected from the Ikalamavony Domain demonstrate the isotopic variation of basement sources present in the Malagasy *** Hf isotopic composition of Malagasy zircon are unlike more juvenile Ediacaran-Cambrian zircon sou rces elsewhere in the East African Orogen and,as such,Madagascar represents a distinct and identifiable detrital zircon source region in Phanerozoic sedimentary provenance *** together,these data indicate that high-T crustal anatexis,crustal assimilation and interaction of crustal material with mantle-derived melts were the processes operating during magma *** magmatism was coeval with polyphase deformation throughout Madagascar during the amalgamation of Gondwana and magmatism is interpreted to reflect lithospheric delamination of an extensive orogenic plateau.

Clay Fraction Distribution in the Sediments of the Senegal River Estuary after the Diama （Senegal） Dam Construction

Clay fraction contents distribution in the Senegal River estuary after the building of the anti-salt Diama dam has shown that upstream sediments are very muddy. Clay fraction content is as high as 60 % of sediments in the middle of the channel with a pronounced downstream decreasing trend on the banks comparing to the contents in the middle of the channel. Towards the river mouth, the fine fraction tends to disappear leading to a shelly sand sediment type essentially. During low water period, clay fraction contents increase particularly at the vicinity of the dam reservoir. In the estuarine reach, downstream the dam, this increasing trend during the low water stage is particularly marked in the middle of the channel. The clay mineral assemblage shows that kaolinite and smectite are the main components, whereas interlayered illite-smectite and illite are minor constituents. The upstream-downstream profile shows a decrease in kaolinite content although it remains the dominant constituent. Floating clay minerals (smectite and illite-smectite) concentrate rather in the middle of the channel and on the right bank where the water depth is higher. According to seasonal variations, the distribution of these clay minerals often follows the concentration of the entire clay fraction; their contents increase during low water stage period. This hydrodynamics sorting of floating minerals, evident in the up-dam zone, tends to disappear in the eastern reach between Diama dam and the mouth. Clay minerals assemblage shows, through the time, a rather homogeneous composition which does not seem to be altered by the seasonal fluctuations.

Objective. To analyze the predictive effect on obstetrical outcome in women with prenatal exposure to diethylstilbestrol (des) of previous obstetrical history or the specific risk of des exposure. Patients and methods. We included all in utero des- exposed women (454 women) followed and delivered at one maternity unit in Paris and compared them with two control women matched for age, parity, number of late fetal losses, number of previous preterm births, number of singleton or twin fetuses, and follow- up, who were managed by the same team or referred for pregnancy complication. Results. des women had a higher rate of preterm birth (19.2% ) than matched controls (10.5% ), even when considering women with a previous preterm birth or twin pregnancy. The rate of fetal or neonatal deaths were lower in des- exposed women than in controls. des women showed a higher rate of severe post partum bleeding (2.8% ) than matched controls (1.5% ) or the global population of women delivered in this maternity unit. Conclusion. A history of prenatal exposure to desis a major predictor of preterm birth for primiparous women and for those with an adverse obstetrical history.

Application of resistant starch in bread: processing, proximate composition and sensory quality of functional bread products from wheat flour and African locust bean <i>(Parkia biglobosa)</i>flour

Application of resistant starch prepared from parkia flour was produced by replacement of wheat flour with 0, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 30% and 40% Parkia flour. Processing, proximate composition, digestibility of resistant starch in bread and sensory quality were evaluated. Resistant starch was significantly (p de protein content significantly (p de fiber (1.41% - 4.97%). Color of the bread treatments was remarkably affected by addition of different levels of Parkia flour. Therefore, Parkia flour could be added to wheat flour up to 15% without any observed detrimental effect on bread sensory properties. Sensory evaluation results indicated that bread with 5% to15% Parkia flour were rated the most acceptable and there was no significant difference in terms of acceptability compared to the control. This could be used to improve the nutritional quality of bread especially in developing countries were malnutrition is prevalent.

Background: Plasmodium falciparum malaria remains a major life-threatening disease. Recently, the Plasmodium apoptosis-linked pathogenicity factors (PALPF) have been identified. These antigens PALPF are expressed only by P. falciparum-infected erythrocytes triggering endothelial cell apoptosis (apoptogenic). Methods: We designed ten synthetic peptides (P1 to P10) from PALPF: PF07_0032, PF10_0226, PFI0130c, PFD0875c and MAL13P1.206, and analyzed their antigenicity with an ELISA method using plasma samples from subjects living in Dienga, Gabon. Results: Four peptides showed good reactivity with human antibodies. The prevalence rate of specific IgG was 61%, 51%, 44% and 34% for P5, P6, P4 and P2, respectively. The median optical density of total IgG anti-P2 was higher than that directed against P4 and P6 (P = 0.009; P = 0.012 respectively). The prevalence rate of IgG subclasses determined with plasma samples recognizing peptide 5 for IgG1, 2, 3 and 4 isotypes was 69%, 45%, 76% and 62%, respectively. All the subjects had at least one immunoglobulin subclass, while 13 (44%) had both IgG1 and IgG3 antibodies. There was no significant difference in the prevalence rate of anti-P5 IgG1, IgG3 and IgG4. Conclusion: These results warrant further immunogenicity studies of peptides 2, 4, 5 and 6 with a view of a tentative to antimalarial vaccine development.

目的比较子宫颈癌筛查中传统子宫颈涂片、单层细胞学,以及人乳头状瘤病毒检测的敏感性、特异性和观察者间的可信性。设计对同时进行了此3项检查并有参考标准(阴道镜和组织学)者进行横断面研究。研究单位法国的公立大学和私人诊所,本研究完全独立于病例提供者。研究对象因先前检出的细胞学异常而进行阴道镜检查的828名妇女和参加常规涂片检查的1757名妇女。主要结果判定指标临床读片和最优化解释(为取得一致所进行的双盲读片)。根据诊断异常的不同阈值计算出敏感性、特异性和加权κ值。结果根据Bethesda系统,传统子宫颈涂片检查得到的结果更为满意(91％比87％),比单层细胞学更可靠(加权κ值0.70比0.57),其敏感性和特异性更高。这些结果适用于临床读片和最优化解释,区分高级别和低级别病变,以及有低和高异常发生率的人群。人乳头状瘤病毒检测与单层细胞学检查同时进行,不论是系统性的还是只对于意义不明的非典型细胞,并不比传统涂片检查优越。结论在子宫颈癌筛选中,单层细胞学检查不如传统子宫颈涂片检查可靠,且更容易出现假阳性和假阴性结果。

The HyFrance Group was originally formed in France to support the European project HyWays, by providing (former projects HyFrance1 and HyFrance2) the French data and possible hydrogen pathways according to national specificities. HyFrance3 is a new project that focuses on the economic competitiveness of different steps of the hydrogen chain, from the production to end usage, at the time horizon of 2030 in France. The project is coordinated by CEA with the other partners being: AdeME (co-funding), AFH2, CNRS, IFP, Air Liquide, EdF, GdF Suez, TOTAL, ALPHEA. The project is divided into 4 sub-projects, that address present and future French hydrogen industrial markets for chemical & refinery uses, the analysis of the interplay between wind energy production and storage of hydrogen for different automotive requirements (refuelling stations, BtL plants, H2/NG mix), massive hydrogen storage to balance various offer and demand characteristics, and the supply network (pipeline option competitiveness vs. trucked in supply) to distribute hydrogen in a French region for automotive applications. Technical and economical issues, as well as GHG emissions, are addressed.
