Does cypermethrin affect enzyme activity, respiration rate and walking behavior of the maize weevil （sitophilus zeamais）？

Insecticides cause a range of sub-lethal effects on targeted insects, which are frequently detrimental to them. However, targeted insects are able to cope with insecti- cides within sub-lethal ranges, which vary with their susceptibility. Here we assessed the response of three strains of the maize weevil sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky （Coleoptera.＂ Curculionidae） to sub-lethal exposure to the pyrethoid insecticide cypermethrin. We ex- pected enzyme induction associated with cypermethrin resistance since it would aid the resistant insects in surviving such exposure. Lower respiration rate and lower activity were also expected in insecticide-resistant insects since these traits are also likely to favor survivorship under insecticide exposure. Curiously though, cypermethrin did not affect ac- tivity of digestive and energy metabolism enzymes, and even reduced the activity of some enzymes （particularly for cellulase and cysteine-proteinase activity in this case）. There was strain variation in response, which may be （partially） related to insecticide resistance in some strains. sub-lethal exposure to cypermethrin depressed proteolytic and mainly cellulolytic activity in the exposed insects, which is likely to impair their fitness. However, such exposure did not affect respiration rate and walking behavior of the insects （except for the susceptible strain where walking activity was reduced）. Walking activity varies with strain and may minimize insecticide exposure, which should be a concern, particularly if associated with （physiological） insecticide resistance.

Because of the presence of modified warp factors in metric tensors,we use deformed Ads5 spaces to apply the Ads/CfT correspondence to calculate the spectra for even and odd glueballs,scalar and vector mesons,and baryons with different *** the glueball cases,we derive their Regge trajectories and compare them with those related to the pomeron and the *** the scalar and vector mesons,as well as baryons,the determined masses are compatible with the *** particular,for these hadrons we found Regge trajectories compatible with another holographic approach as well as with the hadronic spectroscopy,which present an universal Regge slope of approximately 1.1 GeV^2.

AIM:To evaluate the suitability of reference genes in gastric tissue samples and cell ***:The suitability of genes ACTB,B2M,GAPDH,RPL29,and 18s rRNA was assessed in21 matched pairs of neoplastic and adjacent nonneoplastic gastric tissues from patients with gastric adenocarcinoma,27 normal gastric tissues from patients without cancer,and 4 cell lines using reverse transcription quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).The ranking of the best single and combination of reference genes was determined by Normfinder,geNorm,BestKeeper,and *** addition,GenEx software was used to determine the optimal number of reference *** validate the results,the mRNA expression of a target gene,DNMT1,was quantified using the different reference gene combinations suggested by the various software packages for ***:ACTB was the best reference gene for all gastric tissues,cell lines and all gastric tissues plus cell ***+B2M or ACTB+B2M was the best combination of reference genes for all the gastric *** the other hand,ACTB+B2M was the best combination for all the cell lines tested and was also the best combination for analyses involving all the gastric tissues plus cell *** to the GenEx software,2 or 3 genes were the optimal number of references genes for all the gastric *** relative quantification of DNMT1 showed similar patterns when normalized by each combination of reference *** level of expression of DNMT1 in neoplastic,adjacent non-neoplastic and normal gastric tissues did not differ when these samples were normalized using GAPDH+B2M(P=0.32),ACTB+B2M(P=0.61),or GAPDH+B2M+ACTB(P=0.44).CoNCLUsIoN:GAPDH+B2M or ACTB+B2M is the best combination of reference gene for all the gastric tissues,and ACTB+B2M is the best combination for the cell lines tested.

Molecular modeling of the octacoordinated tetracarbonato-Nd(III), [Nd(Co_3)_4]^(5-), complex and its nonacoordinated fluoro- and aquo-adducts

Theoretical investigation on the structures of the octacoordinated [Nd(Co3)4]5-and the nonacoordinated [Nd(Co3)***2]5-complexes, using the sPARKLE parameters of the lanthanides within MoPAC, revealed that they possessed dodecahedral and square antiprismatic structures respectively with an average Nd-o distance of 0.249 nm. These structures and the Nd-o distances agreed well with those experimentally found in the crystal structures. Replacing the water molecule with a fluoride ion or a mondentatecarbonato ligand resulted in a nonacoordinated distorted square antiprismatic structures where the trans-carbonato groups were twisted. The corresponding decacoordinated structures with two fluoride ions or a bidentatecarbonato group, [Nd(Co3)4·f2]7-and [Nd(Co3)5]7-, were also investigated. In both cases considerable twisting of the transcarbonato groups was observed.

Hadron resonances as rovibrational states

A rovibrational model,including anharmonic,centrifugal,and Coriolis corrections,is used to calculate π,K,N,and ∑ orbital and radial *** four orbital excitations of the n meson correspond to the/?(1235),ti2(1670),63(2030),and π4(2250)*** first four radial excitations correspond to the π(1300),π(1800),π(2070),and 7t(2360)*** orbital excitations of the K meson are interpreted as the K_(1)(1270),K_(2)(1770),K_(3)(2320),and K_(4)(2500)resonances;its radial excitations correspond to the K(1460)and K(1830)*** N orbital excitations are identified with the N(1520),N(1680),N(2190),N(2220),and N(2600)*** first four radial excitations of the N family correspond to the N(1440),N(1880),N(2100),and N(2300)*** orbital excitations of the ∑ baryon are associated with the ∑(1670),∑(1915),∑(2100),and ∑(2250)resonances,whereas its radial excitations are identified with the ∑(1660),∑(1770),and ∑(1880)*** proposed rovibrational model calculations show a good agreement with the corresponding experimental values and allow for the prediction of hadron resonances,thereby proving to be useful for the interpretation of excited hadron spectra.

The order Gobiiformes is made up of more than 2200 species,representing one of the most diverse groups among teleost *** biological causes for the tachytelic karyotype evolution of the gobies have not yet been fully *** we expanded cytogenetic data for the Eleotridae family,analyzing the neotropical species Dormitator maculatus,Eleotris pisonis,Erotelis smaragdus,and Guavina *** addition,a meta-analytical approach was followed for elucidating the karyotype diversification versus biological aspects(habitat and egg type)of the *** species *** and *** present 2n=46 acrocentric chromosomes(Nf=46),*** 2n=46(36sm+4st+6a;Nf=86),and ***,the most divergent karyotype,with 2n=52 acrocentric chromosomes(Nf=52).Besides numeric and structural diversification in the karyotypes,the mapping of rDNAs and microsatellites also showed noticeable numerical and positional variation,supporting the high chromosomal evolutionary dynamism of these *** Gobiiformes,karyotype patterns which are more divergent from the basal karyotype(2n=46a)are associated with characteristics less effective to dispersion,such as the benthic *** adaptive characteristics,connected with the organization of the repetitive DNA content in the chromosomes,likely play a synergistic role in the remarkable karyotype diversification of this group.

Natural Mg silicates with different structures and morphologies: Reaction with K to produce K2Mgsio4 catalyst for biodiesel production

In this work, different magnesium silicate mineral samples based on antigorite, lizardite, chrysotile(which have the same general formula Mg3si2o5(oH)4), and talc(Mg3si4o10(oH)2) were reacted with KoH to prepare catalysts for biodiesel production. simple impregnation with 20 wt% K and treatment at 700–900°C led to a solid-state reaction to mainly form the K2Mgsio4 phase in all samples. These results indicate that the K ion can diffuse into the different Mg silicate structures and textures, likely through intercalation in the interlayer space of the different mineral samples followed by dehydroxylation and K2Mgsio4 formation. All the materials showed catalytic activity for the transesterification of soybean oil(1:6 of oil : methanol molar ratio, 5 wt% of catalyst, 60°C). However, the best results were obtained for the antigorite and chrysotile precursors, which are discussed in terms of mineral structure and the more efficient formation of the active phase K2Mgsio4.

Crystallographic and microstructural properties of Ho(Ni,Co,Mn)o3±dperovskite-type multiferroic material are *** were synthesized with a modified polymeric precursor *** synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction(sXRPD)technique associated to Rietveld refinement method was used to perform structural *** crystallographic structures,as well as microstructural properties,were studied to determine unit cell parameters and volume,angles and atomic positions,crystallite size and strain.X-ray energies below the absorption edges of the transition metals helped to determine the mean preferred atomic occupancy for the substituent ***,analyzing the degree of distortion of the polyhedra centered at the transitions metal atoms led to understanding the structural model of the synthesized phase.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPs)was performed to evaluate the valence states of the elements,and the tolerance factor and oxygen *** obtained results indicated a small decrease distortion in structure,close to the HoMno3 basis *** addition,the substituent atoms showed the same distribution and,on average,preferentially occupied the center of the unit cell.

Dynamically generated N* resonances from the interaction of two mesons and a baryon

We have studied the ππN system and coupled channels by using of the faddeev equations and two N* and one △ states, all of them with JP =1/2+, have been found in the formalism as dynamically generated states. In addition, signatures for a new N* resonance with JP =1/2+ are found around an energy of 1920 MeV in the three-body center of mass system.

Electrooxidation of sulfanilamide and its voltammetric determination in pharmaceutical formulation,human urine and serum on glassy carbon electrode

for the first time, sulfanilamide(sfD) was determined in otologic solution, human urine and serum by electroanalytical techniques on glassy carbon electrode(GCE). The cyclic voltammetry(CV) experiments showed an irreversible oxidation peak at t 1.06 V in 0.1 mol/L BRBs(p H ? 2.0) at 50 m V/s. Different voltammetric scan rates(from 10 to 250 m V/s) suggested that the oxidation of sfD on the GCE was a diffusioncontrolled process. square-wave voltammetry(sWV) method under optimized conditions showed a linear response to sfD from 5.0 to 74.7 μmol/L(R ? 0.999) with detection and quantification limits of 0.92 and3.10 μmol/L, respectively. The developed sWV method showed better results for detection limit and linear range than the chronoamperometry method. It has been successfully applied to determine sfD concentration in pharmaceutical formulation, human urine and serum samples with recovery close to 100%.
