Introduction: The risk of rupture of true renal artery aneurysms is low but when they are bigger than 2 - 2.5 cm it increases significantly, making treatment essential. The need to use alternatives to conventional techniques in order to avoid predictable complications as coil migration is mandatory. Discussion: Routinely-used techniques in interventional neuroradiology such as flow diverters or those assisted with an occlusion balloon or stent have are suitable alternatives for complex aneurysms. Conclusion: Interventional neuroradiology devices such as the Cascade Net stent (Perflow Medical and Grupo Logsa) and Solitaire AB stent retriever (Medtronic) are valid and safe options. We describe the technique of such devices.

Cerebrospinal fluid flow in empty sella syndrome and normal sellar regions measured by phase-contrast quantitative magnetic resonance

We used MRI to examine 38 healthy females and 38 female patients with empty sella syndrome. Cerebrospinal fluid flow was examined in six regions of interest, including the anterior clinoid processes, posterior clinoid processes, and 1.0 mm, 1.0 mm, 2.0 mm, --2.0 mm from the midpoint of the line between the anterior and posterior clinoid processes. The results revealed no significant differences in cerebrospinal fluid flow velocity and discharge in a single cardiac cycle, or indicators of cardiac cycles in the control group, indicating that the cerebrospinal fluid flow was relatively steady in the saddle area of the normal brain. In the empty sella syndrome group, cerebrospinal fluid hernia into the saddle area triggered a fluctuation of the anterior and posterior clinoid processes in the saddle area, while the flow in other regions in the saddle area was relatively steady this resulted in significant differences in cerebrospinal fluid flow velocity and discharge, as well as the cardiac cycle.

Objective To analyze the clinical manifestations and the imaging mainly CT of metanephric adenoma in chidren. Methods We reviewed the manifestations of clinics and the imaging mainly CT at our institution and reported observations on the diagnosis of metanephric adenoma in children based on these 2 patients and an additional 10 cases from the literature. Results More cases of metanephric adenoma could have polycythemia at presentation. Also in more patiens, US image depicted well-circumscribed hyperechoic mass. Un-enhanced CT scan showed the higher attenuation mass with calcification, some cases had cystic mass with a single solid mural nodule. At contrast-enhanced CT, the degrees of enhancement varied. In our new cases, one showed a large polycystic mass abounded with fat-attenuation material. Conclusion Manifestations of metanephric adenoma varied from each other, we should analyze the clinical manifestations as well as the characteristics of imagings and it would help for diagnosis. But the diagnosis of the tumors must be based on histological examinations.

Objective To evaluate the monitoring and diagnostic potential of MR in fetal lung development using lung signal intensity changes in the fetus. Methods The lung-to-liver intensity ratio was calculated by means of region-of-interest analysis in all 35 fetuses including 7 bilateral urinary anomalies, 9 unilateral urinary anomalies, 5 pulmonary anomalies, and 14 others. Results All fetuses with urinary anomalies and pulmonary anomalies showed low ratio of lung-to-liver signal intensity. Conclusion Low ratio of lung-to-liver signal intensity on MR imaging indicates pulmonary hypoplasia after 22 weeks’ gestation.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the sixth-most common type of cancer worldwide. The only definitive treatment modalities capable of achieving a cure are hepatic resection and hepatic transplantation. However, most patients are not candidates for these therapies. Overall, treatment options are driven by the stage of HCC. Early-stage disease is treated with ablative therapies, with radiofrequency ablation the ablative therapy of choice. Microwave ablation and irreversible electroporation are the other upcoming alternatives. Intermediate-stage disease is managed with transarterial chemoembolization(TACE), while advanced-stage disease is managed by sorafenib, with TACE and radioembolization as other alternatives.

Objective: To estimate the safety and efficacy of transcatheter arterial embolization(TAE) in the treatment of refractory hematuria of prostatic origin(RHPO).Methods: This retrospective study included 23 patients who underwent TAE for RHPO between May 2013 and August 2021. Technical and clinical success rates were calculated, and arteriogram findings and complications were ***: Embolization was performed 24 times in 23 patients. Technical success was achieved in 24/24(100%)embolization procedures. Contrast agent extravasation was detected during 2 of the 24 angiographic *** embolization was performed in 23(95.8%) of the 24 procedures. The clinical success rate was 21/23(91.3%), and hematuria stopped 1–4 days after TAE. No serious complications were ***: TAE is a safe and effective minimally invasive technique for treating patients with RHPO.

Neurofibromatosis type1 （NF1）, also known as Von Recklinghausen＇s disease with approximate occurrence of 1/3000 births, can be considered as a common autosomal dominant condition. Abdominal organs can be involved as neuro-fibroma and tumor growth in the liver, mesentery, retropedtoneum, stomach and bowel. Association of NF and gastrointes-tinal neoplasms occur in 2%-25% of patients. There is a 5%-10% lifetime risk of developing an NFl-associated malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor （MPNST）, usually adsing within a pre-existing plexiform neurofibroma which metastasizes widely heraldinga poor outcome. We report a 55 year old man with gastrointestinal NF which ultimately developed MPNST and deceased.

To investigate the effects of long-term low dose hormone replacement therapy （HRT） on postmenopaosal women in homone level, cognition score, hippocampus volume, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy （MRS） parameters. Methods A total of 182 postmenopausal women aged 50-87 years were chosen at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and assigned to HRT group and control group. The volunteers of HRT group had taken low dose hormone [ estradiol （E2 ） 0. 5-1.0 mg and progesterone 0.5-2.0 mg, once a day ] for 4-33 years. The concentrations of E2, progesterone, and testosterone were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. The gene types of apolipoprotein E （ApoE） were measured by polymerase chain reaction, and the subjects with susceptible genes （ ApoE ε3/ε4） of Alzheimer＇s disease （AD） were screened. Their hippocampus volumes and MRS parameters were obtained through magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）, and results in two groups were analyzed by statistical method. Results Compared with control group, the concentrations of E2 at each age stage in HRT group were significantly higher （P 〈0. 05） except the 80-89 years old subgroup; yet, there were no statistical differences in the concentrations of progesterone and testosterone between the two groups. There was no obvious difference in ApoE subtypes distribution between the two groups The results of hippocampus MRI for the subjects with susceptible genes ApoE ε3/ε4 （HRT group 14 cases, control group 11 cases） showed that the ratio of bilateral hippocampus volume to whole brain volume in HRT group （0. 406 ± 0.028） was signiticantlyhigher than control gronp （0.369±0.031, P〈0.05）. Theresults of ^1H MRS for the subjects with susceptible genes ApoE ε3/ε4 （ HRT group 12 cases, control group 11 cases） showed that the N-acetylaspartate/total creatine at the area of hippocampus in HRT group （ 1.54±0. 08 ） were significantly higher than control group （ 1.45±0. 13, P 〈 0. 05）.
