The broad sense overlap concept and types of tree crown overlap were defined in the paper through analping function between the factors of tree crown overlap. The formulas of overlap area and overlap rate were derived from definite integral form. At the same time, many formulas were acquired while the projective figures of tree crown were circle. Application ways of these formulae were illustrated with a concrete caculation process.

From field investigations and inoculations, Dothistroma pini, the pathogen of Dothistroma needle blight was found to overwinter as mycelium and unmaturcd accrvuli in infected needles. The conidia were sprcadcd mainly by rain splash. The disease became widespread by transporting diseased seedlings and scions, conidia spread throughout the growing season, but mainly from May to July. The disease was found in both stand locations in each summer of investigation. The outbreak severity was serious in pure stands of susceptible pine and mixed stunds with large components of susceptible pine, but slight in mixed stands of unsusceptible species with small components of susceptible hosts. The disease was less severe in pruned stands than in unpruned stands. The disease was most serious near the infection centre. indoor and outdoor tests, it was shown that Chlorothalonil smoke, Chlorothalonil spray and Thiram and Asomate sprays were effective control fungicides.

Stem implants of acephate were tentatively used to contfol cone and seed insects in Northeastern China in 1993. Experiments considered in a Siberian larch seed orchard and mother-tree stands of Korean pine and Korean spruce that promising control of major cone pests, including cone tlies, cone-worms and seed-worms, was obtained in all of the conifer species but treatment did not reduce significantly damage due to seed chalcids. Acephate implants did not seem to affect seed germination.

The photosynthetic response of 12-year old Pinus sylvestriformis to elevated CO2 and its influential factors were tested and analyzed in the forest region of Changbai Mountain in 1999. Thees grown at the natural condition were controlled at three levels of CO2 concentration (350μL·L-1, 500 μL·L -1 and 700μL·L-1) by CO2 rich settlement designed by us. Net photosynthetic rates (NPR), temperature, relative humidity, stomatal conduc- tance, intercellular CO2 concentration and photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) were measured at 6:00, 8:00, 10:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00 hours a day. Experimental results showed that the NPR of Pinus sylvestriformis increased by 32.6% and 123.0% at 500 μL·L-1 and 700 μL·L-1 CO2 concentration respectively, compared to am- bient atmospheric CO2 concentration (350 μL·L-1). The relations betWeen NPR and influential factors, including temperature, relative humidity, intercellular CO2 concentration and photosynthetic active radiation, were analyzed respectively by regression analysis at different CO2 concentrations.

On the scientific basis, the carbon sink estimation of wetland was summarized up, that is stockdifference method and gain–loss method as a fundamental approach. The major issues when those methods were applied in that estimation had been raised up for attention to be paid. Based upon the science achievements, the research approaches and policy foundation for market trading about the wetland carbon sink had been analyzed for that sink sustainability. It was concluded that the decomposition reduction of wetland plant material and rewetting and suitable restoration of wetland are essential for its sink conservation. Nowadays, China has already set the wetland conservation for its carbon sink sustainability as a part of the national goal in the carbon peaking road-map, further elaboration on the policymaking should be taken for the wetland sink conclusive into the voluntary market and as an offset of the partly compulsory reduction of emission.

The Nanwenghe Wetlands Reserve in the Yile'huli Mountains is a representative region of the Xing'an *** response of permafrost to climate change remains unclear due to limited field ***,longer-term responses of the ground thermal state to climate change since 2011 have been monitored at four sites with varied surface characteristics:Carex tato wetland(P1)and *** wetland(P2)with a multi-year average temperatures at the depth of zero annual amplitude(T_(ZAA))of−0.52 and−1.19℃,respectively;Betula platyphylla-Larix gmelinii(Rupr.)Kuzen mixed forest(P3)with T_(ZAA) of 0.17℃,and;the forest of ***(Rupr.)Kuzen(P4)with T_(ZAA) of 1.65℃.Continuous observations demonstrate that the ecosystem-protected Xing'an permafrost experienced a cooling under a warming *** temperature at the top of permafrost(TTOP)rose(1.8℃ per decade)but the TZAA declined(−0.14℃ per decade),while the active layer thickness(ALT)thinned from 0.9 m in 2012 to 0.8 m in 2014 at *** the TTOP and TZAA increased(0.89 and 0.06℃ per decade,respectively),but the ALT thinned from 1.4 m in 2012 to 0.7 m in 2016 at *** detached permafrost at P3 disappeared in summer 2012,with warming rates of+0.42 and+0.17℃ per decade for TTOP and T_(ZAA),***,up to date,the ground thermal state has remained stable at *** conclude that the thermal offset is crucial for the preservation and persistence of the Xing'an permafrost at the southern fringe.

Background Culex pipiens pallens andCulex pipiens quinquefasciatus are the dominant species ofCulex mosquitoes in China and important disease vectors. Long-term use of insecticides can cause mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (vgsc) gene of mosquitoes, but little is known about the current status and evolutionary origins ofvgsc gene in different geographic populations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the current status ofvgsc genes inCx. p. pallens andCx. p. quinquefasciatus in China and to investigate the evolutionary inheritance of neighboring downstream introns of thevgsc gene to determine the impact of insecticides on long-term *** Sampling was conducted from July to September 2021 in representative habitats of 22 provincial-level administrative divisions in China. Genomic DNA was extracted from 1308 mosquitoes, the IIS6 fragment of thevgsc gene on the nerve cell membrane was amplified using polymerase chain reaction, and the sequence was used to evaluate allele frequency and knockdown resistance (kdr) frequency. MEGA 11 was used to construct neighborjoining (NJ) tree. PopART was used to build a TCS *** There were 6 alleles and 6 genotypes at the L1014 locus, which included the wild-type alleles TTA/L and CTA/L and the mutant alleles TTT/F, TTC/F, TCT/S and TCA/S. The geographic populations with akdr frequency less than 20.00% were mainly concentrated in the regions north of 38° N, and the geographic populations with akdr frequency greater than 80.00% were concentrated in the regions south of 30° *** frequency increased with decreasing latitude. The control of Coleophora dahurica Flkv. by ULV spraying rare oil of malathior was popularized in lnner Mongolia daxing’an Mountains in 1992-1993. The control area was 32744.3hm2, which was 98.2% of the suitable control area in Inner Mongolia daxing’an Mountains and 75%of the suitable area in Inner Mongolia respectively. Dosage was 1125 g/hm2. Control effectiveness was above 95%, the larvae density decreased from 52.5 to 0.94 per 50cm sample twig and direct economical benefit was 3,935,420 Chinese yuan.

Genetic variation and selection of introduced provenances of Siberian Pine(Pinus sibirica) in frigid regions of the Greater Xing'an Range,Northeast China

Siberian Pine （Pinus sibirica） is an ecologically and eco-nomically important species in pristine forests throughout northern Rus-sia. Four provenances of P. sibirica were introduced from Mongolia and Russia to the Greater Xing’an Range （the daxing’anling）, northeast China in 1993. The aim of this research was to study genetic variation and selection of the introduced four Pinus sibirica provenances. Heights （H）, basal diameters （BD）, survival rates （SR） and crown lengths （CL） of different families were measured as primary outcomes in different growth years. Results of data analyses demonstrated high coefficients of phenotypic variation （PCV） and heritability （H2） for H, BD and CL at 18 years after introduction. PCV and H2 increased with age. Correlations of＆amp;nbsp;growth traits between any two growth years were all significantly positive, but the correlation coefficient was smaller when the growth year interval was larger. Correlations between H and the original environment factors decreased gradually, indicating that with long-term subsistence in the new environment, the influence of the source environment declined. Colligation of multiple traits to estimate provenances showed that Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Altai Mountains had higher survival rates and biomass, and proved more suitable for introduction and plantation in the Greater Xing’an Range in China.
