Background:Leptospirosis morbidity and mortality rates in China have decreased since the *** analyses of the spatiotemporal and demographic changes occurring in the last decade and its implication on estimates of disease burden are required to inform intervention *** this study,we quantified the epidemiological shift and geographical heterogeneity in the burden of leptospirosis during 2005-2015 in ***:We used reported leptospirosis case data from 1st January 2005 to 31st of December 2015 that routinely collected by the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention(CISDCP)to analyze the epidemiological trend and estimate the burden in terms of disability-adjusted life-years(DALYs)over space,time,and demographical ***:A total of 7763 cases were reported during *** which,2403(31%)cases were the laboratoryconfirmed *** 2005,the notified incidence rate was gradually decreased(P0.05).During 2005-2015,we estimated a total of 10313 DALYs were lost due to leptospirosis comprising a total of 1804 years-lived with disability(YLDs)and 8509 years-life lost(YLLs).Males had the highest burden of disease(7149 DALYs)compared to females(3164 DALYs).The highest burden estimate was attributed to younger individuals aged 10-19 years who lived in southern provinces of *** 2005-2015,this age group contributed to approximately 3078 DALYs corresponding to 30%of the total DALYs lost in ***,our analysis indicated a declining trend in burden estimates(P<0.001)since 2005 and remained relatively low during *** burden estimates have been identified in the endemic regions where infections principally *** of the changes in DALY estimates were driven by changes in ***:In the last 11-years,the burden estimates of leptospirosis have shown a declining trend across the country;however,leptospirosis should not be neglected as it re

Spatiotemporal Evolution of Waterlogging Events in Eastern China from 1961 to 2016

In this study, based on the data on the frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days of 1,638 stations from 1961 to 2016, a variety of mathematical statistics methods were used to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution of waterlogging events in eastern China. The results showed that:① In terms of time, the annual frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days in eastern China in 1961–2016 showed an increasing trend despite of fluctuations. In the interdecadal changes, the highest frequency of waterlogging events and the greatest number of waterlogging days occurred in the 1990s, and from the 1960s to the 1980s, the frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days in eastern China showed a decreasing trend. There were 6-year and 30-year periodic variations in the frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days in eastern China, and mutations occurred in 1991.② In terms of space, from 1961 to 2016, the areas with high frequency of waterlogging events in various years in eastern China were mainly South China, western and southern Yunnan, northern Jiangsu, southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian, junction areas between Hunan and Chongqing, northern Sichuan, and eastern Liaoning.③ In the spatial distribution of change trends and fluctuation characteristics, the frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days in eastern China increased significantly in the southeastern coastal areas from 1961 to 2016, and the fluctuations of the frequency of waterlogging events and the number of waterlogging days in eastern China from 1961 to 2016 presented a spatial variation pattern of low in the southwest and high in the northwest.

Tropical cyclone(TC)annual frequency forecasting is significant for disaster prevention and mitigation in Guangdong *** on the NCEP-NCAR reanalysis and NOAA Extended Reconstructed global sea surface temperature(SST)V5 data in winter,the TC frequency climatic features and prediction models have been *** 1951-2019,353 TCs directly affected Guangdong with an annual average of about *** have experienced an abrupt change from abundance to deficiency in the mid to late 1980 with a slightly decreasing trend and a normal distribution.338 primary precursors are obtained from statistically significant correlation regions of SST,sea level pressure,1000hPa air temperature,850hPa specific humidity,500hPa geopotential height and zonal wind shear in *** those 338 primary factors are reduced into 19 independent predictors by principal component analysis(PCA).Furthermore,the Multiple Linear Regression(MLR),the Gaussian Process Regression(GPR)and the Long Short-term Memory Networks and Fully Connected Layers(LSTM-FC)models are constructed relying on the above 19 *** three different kinds of test sets from 2010 to 2019,2011 to 2019 and 2010 to 2019,the root mean square errors(RMSEs)of MLR,GPR and LSTM-FC between prediction and observations fluctuate within the range of 1.05-2.45,1.00-1.93 and 0.71-0.95 as well as the average absolute errors(AAEs)0.88-1.0,0.75-1.36 and 0.50-0.70,*** for the 2010-2019 experiment,the mean deviations of the three model outputs from the observation are 0.89,0.78 and 0.56,together with the average evaluation scores 82.22,84.44 and 88.89,*** prediction skill comparisons unveil that LSTM-FC model has a better performance than MLR and *** conclusion,the deep learning model of LSTM-FC may shed light on improving the accuracy of short-term climate prediction about TC *** current research can provide experience on the development of deep learning in this field and help to achieve furthe

Spatiotemporal Measurement of Regional Expansion in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Metropolitan Area Based on Nighttime Light data

The research purpose is to accurately reveal the temporal and spatial law of the urban expansion of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan, one of the seven major urban agglomeration areas in China, and provide decision-making basis for the future urban construction land layout and regional development policy-making. Based on the night lighting data (DMSP/OLS), this paper extracts the boundary of the urban construction land of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration from 1993 to 2017, and quantitatively studies the spatial and temporal characteristics of the expansion of the metropolitan area in the past 25 years according to the methods of spatial expansion analysis, center of gravity migration measurement, landscape pattern index, spatial autocorrelation, etc. The results show that: 1) it is scientific and feasible to extract urban agglomeration construction land by the method of auxiliary data comparison for the study of urban expansion;2) the expansion of regional space in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area shows a trend of “weakening first and strengthening later”. The construction land keeps increasing, and the expansion form gradually changes from extensive type to intensive type;3) the center of gravity of the metropolitan area fluctuated and repeated in part during the past 25 years, but it was always located in the municipal district of Changsha city. The eastern region, mainly Changsha city, was still the core area of urban agglomeration expansion;4) strengthening the territorial space protection and control of ecological green core in the metropolitan area is a key measure for the high-quality development of urban agglomeration.

This paper examines the temporal change and spatial variation of population pressure on the ecological environment in *** have collected sufficient data from the statistical yearbooks of 31 provincial administrative areas in 1990,1995,2000,2005,and *** a geographic information system(GIS) and relevant models,we analyzed the trend of the population pressure on ecological environment and the change of the gravity center of ecological environment *** conclude that:(1) generally,population pressure on the ecological environment in China was becoming higher during1990-2010,especially in some areas where the population and environment were in serious imbalance and the ecological environment experienced severe pollution;(2) during a certain period,population pressure on the ecological environment was becoming lower in some areas,but the ecological environment was getting worse;(3) the areas with super-high population pressure on the ecological environment were Beijing,Tianjin,and Shanghai;(4) the gravity center of population pressure on the ecological environment and the center of ecological environment quality move differently during the study time period,but the general trend was similar- both of them were moving from west to *** on the analysis,this paper also provides some policy suggestions on the control of ecological environment quality.

Does ＂lnternet Plus＂ Promote New Export space for Firms？ Evidence from China

Based on data from the Chinese Industrial Enterprises database, this paper investigates the effect of ＂Internet Plus＂ on the trade destination mix at the enterprise level The analysis extends the classic dual margins to three dimensions： destination extensive, destination intensive and destination structural margins. The paper suggests that connecting to the internet not only raises Chinese firms＇propensity to export, but also extends the destination extensive margin. In addition, Internet Plus could create a synergistic effect for internet-enabled enterprises, that is, the development of the destination country＇s internet access benefits domestic firms＇export participation. Finally, the paper finds that lnternet Plus, rather than increasing the intensive or structural margins, leads to the transfer of exports to lower-middle-income countries and helps firms achieve competitiveness and thus increases their profit. The paper provides an explanatory mechanism and empirical evidence for firms ＇use of the internet to optimize export space.
