Three "double-cable" conjugated polymers with thienopyrroledione-based backbone and perylene bisimide as side units were designed as electron acceptor for polymer-polymer solar cells. The polymers show broad absorption spectra and low-lying frontier energy levels due to both aromatic backbone and side units. The new double-cable polymers can be used as electron acceptor to combine with several electron donors, in which power conversion efficiencies above 3% could be achieved.

An isoindigo-based ＂double-cable＂ conjugated polymer bearing perylene bisimide side units was developed via Stille polymerization for application in single-component polymer solar cells, in which a power conversion efficiency of 1% with broad photo-response from 300 nm to 800 nm was achieved. There is no evidence of large phase separation confirmed by AFM images and photoluminescence （PL） spectra. The space charge limit current measurements and light intensity dependence measurements indicate that the low electron mobility and the significant recombination of pho- togenerated charge carriers in active layer mainly account for the low performance of our solar cells. Our results suggest that these ＂double-cable＂ are oromising candidates for use in single-component polymer solar cells with NIr photoresponse.

In this work,ternary organic solar cells(OSCs)combining a fullerene derivative PC71BM with a nonfullerene acceptor N2200-F blended with a polymer donor PM6 were *** with the binary systems,the highest power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 8.11%was achieved in ternary solar cells with 30 wt%N2200-F content,mainly due to the improved short-circuit current density(Jsc)and fill factor(FF).Further studies showed that the improved Jsc could attribute to the complementary abso rption of the two acceptors and the enhanced FF was originated from the higher hole mobility and the fine-tuned morphology in the ternary *** results demonstrate that the combination of fullere ne and nonfullerene acceptors in ternary organic solar cells is a promising approach to achieve high-performance OSCs.

Validation of the NATO Armaments Ballistic Kernel for use in small-arms fire control systems

In support for the development of a new small-arm ballistic computer based on the NATO Armaments Ballistic Kernel(NABK) for the Canadian snipers, drdC Valcartier research Centre was asked to carry out high-fidelity 6 degree-of-freedom(6-dOF) trajectory simulations for a set of relevant vignettes for the snipers, and to compare the direct fire 6-dOF simulation results with those obtained with the 4-dOF NATO Armaments Ballistic Kernel(NABK) adapted to simulate small-arm ammunition trajectories. To conduct this study, drdC Valcartier research Centre used BALCO v1.0b. This paper presents(1) the process and the methodology employed to carry out the sniper direct fire solution study,(2) the modeling and the simulation of the sniper projectile, the approach used in calculating the firing solutions, and the results of direct fire simulations for the sniper vignettes, and(3) an analysis of firing solutions obtained with the BALCO engine versus those of NABK. The work presented in this paper serves to validate the use of NABK for the new sniper ballistic computer.

Freeze-thaw cycles impact the amount of aggregation observed in antibodies and Fc-fusion proteins. Various formulation strategies are used to mitigate the amount of aggregation that occurs upon putting a protein solution through a freeze-thaw cycle. Additionally, low pH solutions cause native antibodies to unfold, which are prone to aggregate upon pH neutralization, There is great interest in the mechanism that causes therapeutic proteins to aggregate since aggregate species can cause unwanted immunogenicity in patients, Herein, an increase in aggregation is reported when the pH is adjusted from pH 3 up to a pH ranging from pH 4 to pH 7 during the thaw process of a frozen antibody solution, raising the pH during the thaw process caused a significant increase in the percent aggregation observed. Two antibodies and one Fc-fusion protein were evaluated during the pH jump thaw process and similar effects were observed. The results provide a new tool to study the kinetics of therapeutic protein ag- gregation upon pH increase,

A Newton iteration-based interval uncertainty analysis method(NI-IUAM) is proposed to analyze the propagating effect of interval uncertainty in multidisciplinary systems. NI-IUAM decomposes one multidisciplinary system into single disciplines and utilizes a Newton iteration equation to obtain the upper and lower bounds of coupled state variables at each iterative ***-IUAM only needs to determine the bounds of uncertain parameters and does not require specific distribution formats. In this way, NI-IUAM may greatly reduce the necessity for raw data. In addition, NI-IUAM can accelerate the convergence process as a result of the super-linear convergence of Newton iteration. The applicability of the proposed method is discussed, in particular that solutions obtained in each discipline must be compatible in multidisciplinary systems. The validity and efficiency of NI-IUAM is demonstrated by both numerical and engineering examples.

Intrusion detection System for PS-Poll doS Attack in 802.11 Networks Using real Time discrete Event System

Wi-Fi devices have limited battery life because of which conserving battery life is imperative. The 802.11 Wi-Fi standard provides power management feature that allows stations(STAs) to enter into sleep state to preserve energy without any frame losses. After the STA wakes up, it sends a null data or PS-Poll frame to retrieve frame(s) buffered by the access point(AP), if any during its sleep period. An attacker can launch a power save denial of service(PS-doS) attack on the sleeping STA(s) by transmitting a spoofed null data or PS-Poll frame(s) to retrieve the buffered frame(s) of the sleeping STA(s) from the AP causing frame losses for the targeted STA(s). Current approaches to prevent or detect the PS-doS attack require encryption,change in protocol or installation of proprietary hardware. These solutions suffer from expensive setup, maintenance, scalability and deployment issues. The PS-doS attack does not differ in semantics or statistics under normal and attack *** signature and anomaly based intrusion detection system(IdS) are unfit to detect the PS-doS attack. In this paper we propose a timed IdS based on real time discrete event system(rTdES) for detecting PS-doS attack. The proposed dES based IdS overcomes the drawbacks of existing systems and detects the PS-doS attack with high accuracy and detection rate. The correctness of the rTdES based IdS is proved by experimenting all possible attack scenarios.

Effects of Two Composted Plant Pesticide residues,Incorporated with Trichoderma viride,on root-Knot Nematode in Balloonflower

Plant pesticide residues, such as chinaberry （Melia toosendan） residue and sand cypress （Sabina vulgaris） residue, are pesticidal plant materials discarded after the bioactive ingredient has been extracted with organic solvents. The only option for botanical pesticide residue utilization has been as landfill. Chinaberry residue （CBr） and sand cypress residue （SCr） were collected and composted in Yangling, Shaanxi Province, China. We studied the effects of chinaberry residue compost （CBrC）, CBrC incorporated with Trichoderma viride （CBrCT）, sand cypress residue compost （SCrC）, and SCrC incorporated with T. viride （SCrCv） on the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, infesting the balloonflower （Platycodon grandiflorum）. Bioassay results indicated that stock solutions of the CBrCT and SCrCT extracts significantly inhibited egg hatching and caused high larval mortality, followed in degree by the CBrC and SCrC extracts. The CBr and SCr extracts caused very low inhibition of eggs and larvae. Supplementing potting mixtures with these four composts reduced the severity of root galling and increased the proportion of marketable roots. The severity of root galling decreased and the average weight of the marketable roots increased with an increase in all the composts when supplemented at rates from 5 to 30%. CBr- and SCr-supplemented pot soils also inhibited the nematodes, but CBr and SCr applied to the soil had a phytotoxic effect and inhibited balloonflower growth. Supplementing field soil with the composts reduced the severity of root galling and the populations of southern root-knot nematodes in the soil. CBrCT and SCrCT clearly enhanced the average weight of the marketable roots by 30.45 and 26.64%, respectively. Continuous supplementation with CBrCT or SCrCT in the same field significantly enhanced the control of the root-knot nematode, and the populations of nematodes continued to decrease with second inoculations. In the paper, we extend the implicit iterative method for linear ill-posed operator equations to solve nonlinear ill-posed problems. We show that under some conditions the error sequence of solutions of the nonlinear implicit iterative method is monotonically decreasing and, with this monotonicity, prove convergence of the new method for both the exact and perturbed equations.

Synthesis of Highly ordered Large Size Mesoporous Silica and Effect of Stabilization as Enzyme Supports in Organic Solvent

FSM 16, MCM 41 and SBA 15 types of hexagonal mesoporous silica with a highly ordered 2 dimensional structure were synthesized by using different silicon sources and surfactants. In the 2 dimensional silicate framework, pore size can be uniformly controlled by the combined use of the surfactants having different alkyl chain lengths and the swelling agents(triisopropyl benzene). The pore diameter of FSM 16 and MCM 41 can be expanded to be 10 nm, SBA 15 to be 15 nm. The crystal regularity was decreased with the increase of the pore diameter. In FSM 16 derived from kanemite(silicon source) and MCM 41 from water glass, their anionic characteristics on the pore wall may be stronger than those of SBA 15 derived from oligomeric tetramethoxysilane(TMOS). We have successfully used FSM 16 and MCM 41 to immobilize the enzyme having cationic residues below isoelectric point. The level of adsorption of enzymes in FSM 16 and MCM 41 was relatively high, but was low in SBA 15 support. The mechanism of enzyme to be adsorbed in mesoporous silica was suggested to be the ionic interactions. In aqueous solutions, horseradish peroxidase(HTP) was immobilized in FSM 16 with 8.9 nm mesopores and the highest loading amount(183 mg/mg FSM) was obtained, but for the FSM 16 of pore diameter 30 nm only an amount of 28 mg/mg FSM was obtained. The catalytic activity in the organic solvent was high when HrP was immobilized in FSM 16 and MCM 41, but it was low in case of SBA 15.
