Stability-enhanced RF signal transmission over long fiber-optic links

We propose a method for optimizing the phase stability of microwave signal transmission over long ***,the design of the photon link was modified to reduce the radio frequency(RF)signal’s baseline noise and increase ***,a low-noise driver circuit was developed for a two-section distributed feedback(DFB)laser designed using reconstruction equivalent chirp(REC)technology to create an ultra-stable laser,and its performance was characterized through linewidth *** results indicate that the DFB laser achieved narrower linewidth,improving system phase *** an injection current(30 mA)is applied to the reflection section of the two-section DFB laser,the laser linewidth will be narrower(1.38 MHz),further enhancing the system’s phase transmission *** a 1 Hz offset frequency,a residual phase noise of-88.65 dBc/Hz is *** short-term stability with an averaging time of 1 s is 1.60×10^(-14),and the long-term stability over a testing time of 60,000 s is 3.41×10^(-18).Even after incorporating temperature variations,the long-term stability reaches 8.37×10^(-18) at 22 h.

Role of microfluctuations in accommodation: a novel approach to reduce non-accommodative noise

Accommodative response and its possible role in myopia development has been explored through the study of the microfluctuations(MFs) of accommodation, which are commonly divided in high(1.0 to 2.3 Hz) and low(0.1 to 0.6 Hz) frequency components. Previous research efforts have evidenced that a certain percentage of the amplitude of MFs seems not to originate in the accommodative response. We aimed to develop and test a new approach to reduce this non-accommodative noise. For this purpose, ten healthy participants were enrolled to determine the difference between the amplitude of MFs at near and distance for each range of frequencies, which was defined as the relative amplitude of MFs. The findings support the exploration of the relative rather than absolute values of the amplitude of MFs to better understand the contribution of both accommodative and non-accommodative factors to MFs.

Numerical study of flow and thermal characteristics of pulsed impinging jet on a dimpled surface

This research comprehensively investigates the flow and thermal characteristics of a pulsating impinging jet over a dimpled *** analyzes the impact of key parameters(e.g.,inlet velocity pulsation functions,pulsation frequency,amplitude,dimple pitch,dimple depth,Reynolds number)on flow patterns and heat *** computational fluid dynamics and the Re-normalization group turbulence model are employed to accurately simulate complex turbulent flow *** and average heat transfer coefficients are calculated and compared to steady impingement cases,revealing the potential benefits of pulsation for heat transfer *** study also examines how pulsation-induced flow modulation and thermal mixing affect heat transfer *** indicate that combining fluctuating flow with a dimpled surface can improve heat transfer *** summary,increasing pulsation amplitude consistently enhances heat transfer,while the effect of frequency varies between impinging and wall jet zones.

Two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper(2DRP)perovskite exhibits excellent stability in perovskite solar cells(PSCs)due to introducing hydrophobic long-chain organic ***,the poor charge transporting property of bulky organic cation spacers limits the performance of 2DRP *** by the Asite cation alloying strategy in 3D perovskites,2DRP perovskites with a binary spacer can promote charge transporting compared to the unary spacer ***,the superior MA-based 2DRP perovskite films with a binary spacer,including 3-guanidinopropanoic acid(GPA)and 4-fluorophenethylamine(FPEA)are *** films(GPA_(0.85)FPEA_(0.15))_(2)MA_(4)Pb_5I_(16)show good morphology,large grain size,decreased trap state density,and preferential orientation of the as-prepared ***,the present 2DRP-based PSC with the binary spacer achieves a remarkable efficiency of 18.37%with a V_(OC)of1.15 V,a J_(SC)of 20.13 mA cm^(-2),and an FF of 79.23%.To our knowledge,the PCE value should be the highest for binary spacer MA-based 2DRP(n≤5)PSCs to ***,owing to the hydrophobic fluorine group of FPEA and the enhanced interlayer interaction by FPEA,the unencapsulated 2DRP PSCs based on binary spacers exhibit much excellent humidity stability and thermal stability than the unary spacer counterparts.

Finite element simulation of stress intensity factors in elastic-plastic crack growth

A finite element program developed elastic-plastic crack propagation simulation using Fortran language. At each propagation step, the adaptive mesh is automatically refined based on a posteriori h-type refinement using norm stress error estimator. A rosette of quarter-point elements is then constructed around the crack tip to facilitate the prediction of crack growth based on the maximum normal stress criterion and to calculate stress intensity factors under plane stress and plane strain conditions. Crack was modelled to propagate through the inter-element in the mesh. Some examples are presented to show the results of the implementation.

Diffraction grating single-shot correlation system for measurement of picosecond laser pulses

We study and experimentally demonstrate a sensitive single-shot correlation system in which only a diffraction grating is used to produce a transverse time delay （TTD） in the reference *** mechanism of the TTD introduced by the grating and the formation of the relative time delay （RTD） in the noncollinear correlation system are analyzed in *** using our system,we successfully measured the temporal duration of picosecond laser pulses,and a time resolution of ～0.047 ps is obtained at 1047 *** impact of the grating dispersion and the second harmonic beam walk-off effect on the measurement are considered.

Low-cost fiber-tip Fabry-Perot interferometer and its application for high temperature sensing

We propose, fabricate, and demonstrate a compact fiber-tip Fabry-Perot interferometer of microcavity for high-temperature sensing. The microcavity which can be used for temperature or pressure sensing is fabricated by using arc discharge at the end of a multimode fiber, which is processed with chemical etching. Advantages of the sensor based on the fiber-tip Fabry-Perot interferometer are small size, easy fabrication, low cost and may have potential applications in space-limited and high-temperature environment.

A micro stereo sensor system is proposed for human sensors,where eyes,ears,tongue,nose,body,and brain are applied by six panda rings embedded in a Mach–Zehnder interferometer(MZI).The input power is applied to the upper branch of MZI and propagates within the *** six antennas(sensors)are formed by the whispering gallery modes of the panda *** space–time modulation signal is applied to the MZI lower *** modulated stereo signals can be configured as the plasmon(electron)spin orientations,which can be identified and applied for quantum codes and quantum consciousness.

High-capacity quantum secure direct communication with two-photon six-qubit hyperentangled states

This study proposes the first high-capacity quantum secure direct communication(QSDC) with two-photon six-qubit hyperentangled Bell states in two longitudinal momentum and polarization degrees of freedom(DOFs) of photon pairs, which can be generated using two 0.5 mm-thick type-I β barium borate crystal slabs aligned one behind the other and an eight-hole screen. The secret message can be independently encoded on the photon pairs with 64 unitary operations in all three DOFs. This protocol has a higher capacity than previous QSDC protocols because each photon pair can carry 6 bits of information, not just 2 or 4 *** QSDC protocol decreases the influence of decoherence from environment noise by exploiting the decoy photons to check the security of the transmission of the first photon sequence. Compared with two-way QSDC protocols, our QSDC protocol is immune to an attack by an eavesdropper using Trojan horse attack strategies because it is a one-way quantum *** QSDC protocol has good applications in the future quantum communication because of all these features.
