AIM:To investigate the diet of pouch patients compared to healthy controls,and to correlate pouch patients’diet with disease ***:pouch patients were recruited and prospectively followed-up at the comprehensive pouch clinic at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical *** behavior was determined based on clinical,endoscopic and histological *** age-and sex-matched volunteers were selected from the"MABAT"Israeli Nutrition and Public Health Governmental Study and served as the control *** the participants completed a 106-item food frequency questionnaire categorized into food groups and nutritional values based on those used in the United States Department of Agriculture food pyramid and the Israeli food *** on Dietary behavior,food avoidance,the use of nutritional supplements,physical activity,smoking habits,and body-mass index(BMI)were also *** patients who had familial adenomatous polyposis(n=3),irritable pouch syndrome(n=4),or patients whose pouch surgery took place less than one year previously(n=5)were excluded from ***:The pouch patients(n=80)consumed significantly more from the bakery products food group(1.2±1.4 servings/d vs 0.6±1.1 servings/d,Ppouch patients consumed significantly more total fat(97.6±40.5 g/d vs 84.4±39 g/d,Ppouch patients consumed significantly fewer carbohydrates(305.5±141.4 g/d vs 369±215.2 g/d,P=0.03),sugars(124±76.2 g/d vs 157.5±90.4 g/d,P=0.01),theobromine(77.8±100 mg/d vs 236.6±244.5 mg/d,P<0.00),retinol(474.4±337.1μg/d vs 832.4±609.6μg/d,P<0.001)and dietary fibers(26.2±15.4

Photon-counting computed tomography(PCCT)represents a significant advancement in pediatric cardiovascular *** CT systems employ energy-integrating detectors that convert X-ray photons into visible light,whereas PCCT utilizes photon-counting detectors that directly transform X-ray photons into electric *** direct conversion allows photon-counting detectors to sort photons into discrete energy levels,thereby enhancing image quality through superior noise reduction,improved spatial and contrast resolution,and reduced *** pediatric applications,PCCT offers substantial benefits,including lower radiation doses,which may help reduce the risk of malignancy in pediatric patients,with perhaps greater potential to benefit those with repeated exposure from a young *** spatial resolution facilitates better visualization of small structures,vital for diagnosing congenital heart ***,PCCT’s spectral capabilities improve tissue characterization and enable the creation of virtual monoenergetic images,which enhance soft-tissue contrast and potentially reduce contrast media *** clinical results indicate that PCCT provides superior image quality and diagnostic accuracy compared to conven-tional CT,particularly in challenging pediatric cardiovascular *** PCCT technology matures,further research and standardized protocols will be essential to fully integrate it into pediatric imaging practices,ensuring optimized diagnostic outcomes and patient safety.

BACKGROUND Long-term chemotherapy for patients with gastric cancer(GC),facilitated by peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)catheterization,reduces vascular damage and enhances drug delivery efficiency but carries risks of catheter-related complications.A combination of group psychological nursing and physical mo-vement care significantly mitigates the risk of venous thrombosis and improves psychological well-being,and enhances motor function,underscoring its clinical *** To assess group psychological and physical movement nursing in preventing venous thrombosis in patients with PICC *** Sixty-five GC patients with PICC,admitted from January 2022 to January 2023,were randomly divided into two groups using the lottery method:A control group(n=35,routine nursing)and an observation group(n=30,routine nursing plus psychological nursing and physical movement nursing).Both groups re-ceived continuous care for 2 ***-nursing and post-nursing data on psycho-logical state,physical function,chemotherapy-related thrombosis incidence,and cancer-related fatigue were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and GraphPad Prism *** After nursing,both groups showed reduced Hamilton Anxiety Scale scores and increased General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale scores,with the observation group performing better(Pcomprehensive Assessment score for the observation group after nursing was(65.42±2.35)points,lower than the control group’s(62.19±4.33)points(P<0.05).Although no significant difference was observed in the incidence of venous thrombosis between the two groups(χ2=0.815,P=0.367),the observation group had lower *** groups showed decreased Revised Piper Fatigue Scale scores,with the observation group scoring lower(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Group psychological and physical movement nursing for patients with PICC reduces venous thrombosis risk,improves psychological well-being,cancer-related fatigue,and physical function,making it highly prom

Transferring patients with critical illnesses from general wards to intensive care units (ICUs) is a crucial and time-sensitive process. This article presents strategies for improving the efficiency of patient transfers, particularly in hospitals where intensive care units are located in buildings separate from general wards. Patient transfers comprise several steps: physicians issue orders, relatives are notified, equipment is prepared, and medical staff coordinate. We identified three factors that influence transfer time: preparation time for bed transfer, time required for shift handovers, and time required for between-ward patient movement. Unfamiliarity with transfer routes and long elevator wait times were factors that also influenced transfer time. The following strategies were proposed: develop a standardized material checklist, design key notes for patient transfers, and optimize transfer routes. These strategies reduced transfer times by 40% to 43%. This study demonstrates that by addressing logistical challenges and streamlining relevant procedures, hospitals can enhance safety and quality of care during patient transfers.

Objective: This study assessed the effects of consuming acetic acid bacteria (Gluconacetobacter hansenii GK-1) for 12 weeks on fatigue induced by temporary mental stress. Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study included 100 healthy male and female adults aged 20 - 64 years. Participants consumed either the G. hansenii GK-1 supplement (9 × 10⁹ cells/day) or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. The impact of temporary mental stress on fatigue in G. hansenii GK-1 was assessed using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before the study began and after 12 weeks of supplementation. Results: Subjective fatigue measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS) showed a significant decrease in fatigue induced by temporary mental stress after 12 weeks of consumption in the G. hansenii GK-1 group compared with the placebo group. No adverse events were attributed to G. hansenii GK-1. These findings confirm that continuous oral ingestion of G. hansenii GK-1 by healthy Japanese adults reduces feelings of fatigue caused by temporary mental stress.
