This article is investigating the comparative analysis of anatomical, physiological, and psycho-emotional adaptation indicators of 100 male and 100 female first-year students of the international medical faculty in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Control groups have consisted of 100 male and 100 female local students of the same age, residing in the Osh city and region. Anthropometry is determined by 50 indicators, such as bio-impedance analysis of body composition, functional tests with exercise, and breathe holding. In addition, the girls underwent an assessment of sexual development according to Tyner. The psychological state was assessed using the Lüschers color test and Spielberger’s questionnaire. The features of anthropometric indicators for students from India are shown as a shorter length of the body, shoulder, and legs, greater waist coverage, an increase in the thickness of the skin folds of the abdomen, increased fat mass and delayed sexual development, anxiety, frequent and longer colds. Functional tests for breath holding and physical activity revealed less reserve capacity in foreign students. This requires the development of rehabilitation programs for foreign students, starting from the first year.

Clinical and histopathological study of preoperative radiochemotherapy with concomitant docetaxel in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity

Purpose: A comparative study on therapeutic effects was performed on 29 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity in whom clinical and histopathological effects could be evaluated among patients with primary squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity treated in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Nippon Dental University Niigata Hospital. Methods: The 11 patients in the concomitant docetaxel group consisted of six men and five women with a mean age of 53.8 years. The primary sites were the tongue in four patients, the upper gum in four and lower gum in one patient. The T classification was T2 in two cases, T3 in eight and T4a in one. The 18 patients in the non-concomitant group were mainly given cisplatin and 5-Fu and consisted of ten men and eight women with a mean age of 63.1 years. The primary site was the tongue in six patients, floor of the mouth in one, buccal mucosa in eight, upper gum in two and lower gum in three patients. The T classification was T2 in 11 cases, T3 in five and T4a in two. The basic treatment method was docetaxel at 50 mg/m2 and cisplatin at 50 mg/m2 on day 1 and 5-Fu at 250 mg/m2 on days 2 to 6. The therapeutic effects were evaluated clinically by macroscopic inspections, palpations, CT and MRI. The histopathological effects according to the Oboshi-Shimosato classification was judged from surgical excisioned speciemens. Results: In the clinical evaluation of therapeutic effects, one patient was NC, nine were PR and one CR. In the histological evaluation of therapeutic effects, four patients were IIa, two were lib, four were III and one was IVb. Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. We demonstrated that a plant R gene can be quickly isolated using transcriptomic profiling coupled with genome-wide sequence analysis.

Background:The traditional Chinese medicine NiuBeiXiaoHe(NBXH)extract and Chinese medicine preparation JieHeWan(JHW)exhibit anti-tuberculosis(TB)*** anti-TB effect of NBXH was compared with that of JHW to elucidate the mechanism of action of ***:BALB/c mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into a normal control group,TB model group,JHW treatment group,and NBXH treatment *** 3 and 13 weeks of treatment,the therapeutic effect in each group was evaluated by comparing lung histopathology,lung and liver colony counts,the number of spots representing effector T cells secreting IFN-γin an enzyme-linked immunospot assay(ELISPOT),and the levels of Th1,Th2,and Th17 cytokines,which were measured by a cytometric bead array(CBA).Mouse RNA samples were subjected to transcriptome ***:After 13 weeks of treatment,the mean histopathological lesion area of the NBXH group was significantly smaller than that of the TB model group(Ppathology,reducing lung colony counts,and regulating the levels of *** restored significant changes in gene expression and repaired cell damage caused by *** infection by regulating immune-related pathways,which clarified the mechanism of action of NBXH.

Maternal Fetal Conflict from Legal Point of View Comparing Health Law in the United States and Islamic Law

Objectives and Methodology: The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how maternal and fetal interests can sometimes be conflicting, and a situation can place care providers in a difficult position when it comes to decisionmaking. The study also intends to cover the health laws that deal with such situations in the legal systems of the United States and Islamic Law. This study takes the form of a critical literature review. The literature search was conducted using electronic citation databases that included Pub Med, Medline, Google Scholar, and others. The keywords used in this research related to medical and legal terms concerned with fetal rights, such as embryo, fetus, abortion, fetal rights, health law in the United States, Islamic health law, and comparative studies. The search was conducted in English as well as Arabic. Data were collected from books, journals, government documents, and Internet websites. Results: Doctors sometimes have to make difficult decisions when caring for pregnant women, since one person’s care directly affects another’s. The fetus depends fully on its mother for survival in the uterus. Nevertheless, at times it so happens that the interests of the mother and fetus differ. In such cases, a conflict between the two arises. Due to advances in technology in the medical field, doctors can now specifically target the fetus during medical procedures. When treating two different patients, health practitioners must choose that which is best for each patient independently. Approach to the maternal-fetal conflict must consider medical concerns, as well as legal ones. While there is some consistency in the medical approach between different countries, the legal part varies considerably, even among different states in America, as fetal legal status, personhood, and rights differ greatly. Although 0.3% of melanomas occur in children, the incidence has risen in past decades. In adult melanoma, some chromosomal regions in 1p, 6q, 9p, 10q, and 11q are frequently deleted. Microsatellite instability (MSI), which reflects impaired DNA repair, has been found at low levels in adult melanoma and melanocytic nevi. To investigate the molecular changes in pediatric melanoma, a screening for loss of heterozygosity and microsatellite instability was performed and compared with changes found in adult melanoma. Formalin- fixed, paraffinembedded tissues from 10 adult melanomas, 9 melanocytic nevi, and 8 pediatric melanomas were microdissected and the DNA was extracted. Loss of heterozygosity and microsatellite instability were evaluated using 13 microsatellite repeat polymorphisms located in 1p36, 1q32, 2p12, 2p22- 25, 2q33- 37, 9p21, 10q23.3, 11q23, 13q14, 17p13, and 17q21. The overall frequency of loss of heterozygosity was 0.09 for nevi, 0.30 for adult melanoma, and 0.43 for pediatric melanoma (nevi vs. adult melanoma, P=0.0082; nevi vs. pediatric melanoma, P=0.0092). Pediatric melanoma has more loss of heterozygosity (44% ) in 11q23 than adult melanoma (7% , P=0.046). The microsatellite instability overall frequency was greater in pediatric melanoma (0.24) than nevi (0.05, P=0.0031) and adult melanoma (0.09, P=0.0195). Our findings suggest that pediatric melanoma has a different abnormal pattern than adult melanoma. Pediatric melanoma has more microsatellite instability than adult melanoma. 11q23 could contain genes related to the early age onset of melanoma. The high frequency of microsatellite instability is coincidental with the finding of higher levels of microsatellite instability in pediatric brain tumors and could play a role in the pathogenesis of pediatric melanoma.

Targeted proteomics for biomarker discovery and validation of hepatocellular carcinoma in hepatitis C infected patients

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)-related mortality is high because early detection modalities are hampered by inaccuracy,expense and inherent procedural *** there is an urgent need for minimally invasive,highly specific and sensitive biomarkers that enable earlydisease detection when therapeutic intervention remains practical. Successful therapeutic intervention is predicated on the ability to detect the cancer early. Similar unmet medical needs abound in most fields of medicine and require novel methodological approaches. Proteomic profiling of body fluids presents a sensitive diagnostic tool for early cancer detection. Here we describe such a strategy of comparative proteomics to identify potential serum-based biomarkers to distinguish high-risk chronic hepatitis C virus infected patients from HCC patients. In order to compensate for the extraordinary dynamic range in serum proteins,enrichment methods that compress the dynamic range without surrendering proteome complexity can help minimize the problems associated with many depletion methods. The enriched serum can be resolved using 2D-difference in-gel electrophoresis and the spots showing statistically significant changes selected for identification by liquid chromatographytandem mass spectrometry. Subsequent quantitative verification and validation of these candidate biomarkers represent an obligatory and rate-limiting process that is greatly enabled by selected reaction monitoring(SRM). SRM is a tandem mass spectrometry method suitable for identification and quantitation of target peptides within complex mixtures independent on peptidespecific antibodies. Ultimately,multiplexed SRM and dynamic multiple reaction monitoring can be utilized for the simultaneous analysis of a biomarker panel derived from support vector machine learning approaches,which allows monitoring a specific disease state such as early HCC.
