Basalt fiber reinforcement in polymer matrix composites is becoming more and more popular because of its environmental friendliness and mechanical qualities that are comparable to those of synthetic *** fiber strengthened vinyl ester matrix polymeric composite with filler addition of nano-and micro-sized silicon carbide(SiC)element spanning from 2 weight percent to 10 weight percent was studied for its mechanical and wear *** application of Artificial Neural Network(ANN)to correlate the filler addition composition for optimum mechanical properties is required due to the non-linear mechanical and tribological features of *** stuffing blend and composition of the composite are optimized using the hybrid model and Genetic Algorithm(GA)to maximize the mechanical and wear-resistant *** predicted and tested ANN–GA optimal values obtained for the composite combination had a tensile,flexural,impact resilience,hardness and wear properties of 202.93 MPa,501.67 MPa,3.460 J/s,43 HV and 0.196 g,respectively,for its optimum combination of filler and *** can be noted that the nano-sized SiC filler particle enhances most of the properties of the composite which diversifies its *** predicted mechanical and wear values of the developed ANN–GA model were in closer agreement with the experimental values which validate the model.

Blockchain-Based MCS Detection Framework of Abnormal Spectrum Usage for Satellite Spectrum Sharing Scenario

In this paper, the problem of abnormal spectrum usage between satellite spectrum sharing systems is investigated to support multi-satellite spectrum coexistence. Given the cost of monitoring, the mobility of low-orbit satellites, and the directional nature of their signals, traditional monitoring methods are no longer suitable, especially in the case of multiple power level. Mobile crowdsensing(MCS), as a new technology, can make full use of idle resources to complete a variety of perceptual tasks. However, traditional MCS heavily relies on a centralized server and is vulnerable to single point of failure attacks. Therefore, we replace the original centralized server with a blockchain-based distributed service provider to enable its security. Therefore, in this work, we propose a blockchain-based MCS framework, in which we explain in detail how this framework can achieve abnormal frequency behavior monitoring in an inter-satellite spectrum sharing system. Then, under certain false alarm probability, we propose an abnormal spectrum detection algorithm based on mixed hypothesis test to maximize detection probability in single power level and multiple power level scenarios, respectively. Finally, a Bad out of Good(BooG) detector is proposed to ease the computational pressure on the blockchain nodes. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

Low rank optimization for efficient deep learning:making a balance between compact architecture and fast training

Deep neural networks(DNNs)have achieved great success in many data processing ***,high computational complexity and storage cost make deep learning difficult to be used on resource-constrained devices,and it is not environmental-friendly with much power *** this paper,we focus on low-rank optimization for efficient deep learning *** the space domain,DNNs are compressed by low rank approximation of the network parameters,which directly reduces the storage requirement with a smaller number of network *** the time domain,the network parameters can be trained in a few subspaces,which enables efficient training for fast *** model compression in the spatial domain is summarized into three categories as pre-train,pre-set,and compression-aware methods,*** a series of integrable techniques discussed,such as sparse pruning,quantization,and entropy coding,we can ensemble them in an integration framework with lower computational complexity and *** addition to summary of recent technical advances,we have two findings for motivating future *** is that the effective rank,derived from the Shannon entropy of the normalized singular values,outperforms other conventional sparse measures such as the?_1 norm for network *** other is a spatial and temporal balance for tensorized neural *** accelerating the training of tensorized neural networks,it is crucial to leverage redundancy for both model compression and subspace training.

Tribological properties of Al-GNP composites at elevated temperature

Lighter and more powerful next generation vehicles and other rotary machinery demand bearings to operate in harsher conditions for higher efficiency,and the continuous development of advanced low-wear and friction materials is thus becoming even more important to meet these *** aluminium composites reinforced with high performance lubricate phases such as graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)are very promising and have been vigorously *** maintaining a low coefficient of friction(COF)and offering great strength against wear due to their self-lubricating capability,the solid lubricant like GNPs protect the bearing surface from wear damage and prevent change in metallurgical properties during temperature *** paper first studies the high-temperature tribological performance of aluminium matrix composites reinforced with GNP,consolidated via powder metallurgy,then elucidates their tribological *** report that the best tribological performance is achieved by the composite containing 2.0 wt%GNP,with an extraordinarily low COF of 0.09 and a specific wear rate of 3.5×10^(−2)mm^(3)·N^(−1)·m^(−1),which represent 75%and 40%reduction respectively,against the plain aluminium consolidated under identical *** in-track and out-of-track Raman analysis have confirmed the role of GNPs in creating a tribofilm on the counterpart surface which contributed to the excellent performance.

Anaerobic digestion(AD)of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW)is prone to system breakdown under high organic loading rates(OLRs)condition,which subsequently reduces the efficiency of digestion process and results in substantial economic *** this perspective paper,the substances metabolisms,electrons flow,as well as microbial interaction mechanisms within AD process are comprehensively discussed,and the underlying bottleneck that causes inefficient methane production is identified,which is“electrons surplus”.Systems encountering severe electron surplus are at risk of process failure,making it crucial to proactively prevent this phenomenon through appropriate *** this basis,the present perspective proposes three potential electronic regulation strategies to prevent electrons surplus,namely,electron shunt,accelerating electron transfer and regulating methanogenic metabolism pathway,and presents specific methodologies for each ***,the potential solutions to challenges that may occur during the electronic regulation process are also presented in this *** perspective aims to provide innovative approaches to achieve the efficient and stable operation of OFMSW anaerobic digestion,especially under high OLRs condition.

Power Allocation for SE Maximization in Uplink Massive MIMO System Under Minimum Rate Constraint

In this paper,we optimize the spectrum efficiency(SE)of uplink massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)system with imperfect channel state information(CSI)over Rayleigh fading *** SE optimization problem is formulated under the constraints of maximum power and minimum rate of each ***,we develop a near-optimal power allocation(PA)scheme by using the successive convex approximation(SCA)method,Lagrange multiplier method,and block coordinate descent(BCD)method,and it can obtain almost the same SE as the benchmark scheme with lower *** this scheme needs three-layer iteration,a suboptimal PA scheme is developed to further reduce the complexity,where the characteristic of massive MIMO(i.e.,numerous receive antennas)is utilized for convex reformulation,and the rate constraint is converted to linear *** suboptimal scheme only needs single-layer iteration,thus has lower complexity than the near-optimal ***,we joint design the pilot power and data power to further improve the performance,and propose an two-stage algorithm to obtain joint *** results verify the effectiveness of the proposed schemes,and superior SE performance is achieved.

Formation mechanism of bright and dark concentric-ring pattern in dielectric barrier discharge

In this work,a bright and dark concentric-ring pattern is reported in a dielectric barrier discharge for the first *** spatiotemporal dynamics of the bright and dark concentric-ring pattern are investigated with an intensified charge-coupled device and photomultiplier *** results indicate that the bright and dark concentric-ring pattern is composed of three concentric-ring *** are bright concentric-ring structures,dark concentric-ring structures and wider concentric-ring structures,*** bright concentric-ring structures and dark concentricring structures are alternately *** bright concentric-ring structures are located at the centre of the wider concentric-ring *** wider concentric-ring structures first form from the outer edge and gradually develop to the *** essence of all three concentric-ring structures is the individual discharge *** optical emission spectra of different sublattices are acquired and *** is found that the plasma parameters of the three concentricring sublattices are ***,the formation mechanism of the bright and dark concentricring pattern is discussed.

Programmable photonic RF filters based on an integrated Fabry-Pérot laser with a saturable absorber

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the programmable photonic radio frequency(RF)filters based on an integrated Fabry-Pérot laser with a saturable absorber(FP-SA).Owing to the high output power and the relative flatness spectrum of the FP-SA laser,only a waveshaper and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)were needed,which can greatly reduce the complexity of the *** sinc filter employed 87 taps,representing a record-high tap number and resulting in a 3-d B bandwidth of 0.27 GHz and a quality factor of ***,Gaussian apodization enabled the out-of-band rejection of the filter to reach 34 d B and the center frequency to be finely tuned over a wide range,spanning from 4 to 14 *** results indicate that the proposed scheme could provide a promising guideline for the photonic RF filters that demand both high reconfigurability and greatly reduced size and complexity.

Metaverse is a virtual environment where users are represented by their avatars to navigate a virtual world having strong links with its physical *** state-of-the-art Metaverse architectures rely on a cloud-based approach for avatar physics emulation and graphics rendering *** current centralized architecture of such systems is unfavorable as it suffers from several drawbacks caused by the long latency of cloud access,such as low-quality *** this end,we propose a Fog-Edge hybrid computing architecture for Metaverse applications that leverage an edge-enabled distributed computing *** applications leverage edge devices’computing power to perform the required computations for heavy tasks,such as collision detection in the virtual universe and high-computational 3D physics in virtual *** computational costs of a Metaverse entity,such as collision detection or physics emulation,are performed at the device of the associated physical *** validate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture,we simulate a distributed social Metaverse *** simulation results show that the proposed architecture can reduce the latency by 50%when compared with cloud-based Metaverse applications.
