With the technology development on detecting circulating tumor cells(CTCs) and cellfree DNAs(cf DNAs) in blood, serum, and plasma, non-invasive diagnosis of cancer becomes promising. A few studies reported good correlations between signals from tumor tissues and CTCs or cf DNAs, making it possible to detect cancers using CTCs and cf DNAs. However, the detection cannot tell which cancer types the person has. To meet these challenges, we developed an algorithm,e Tumor Type, to identify cancer types based on copy number variations(CNVs) of the cancer founding clone. e Tumor Type integrates cancer hallmark concepts and a few computational techniques such as stochastic gradient boosting, voting, centroid, and leading patterns. e Tumor Type has been trained and validated on a large dataset including 18 common cancer types and 5327 tumor samples. e Tumor Type produced high accuracies(0.86–0.96) and high recall rates(0.79–0.92) for predicting colon, brain, prostate, and kidney cancers. In addition, relatively high accuracies(0.78–0.92)and recall rates(0.58–0.95) have also been achieved for predicting ovarian, breast luminal, lung, endometrial, stomach, head and neck, leukemia, and skin cancers. These results suggest that e Tumor Type could be used for non-invasive diagnosis to determine cancer types based on CNVs of CTCs and cf DNAs.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is the most common type of oral malignancy,and metastasis accounts for the poor prognosis of *** is considered to facilitate OSCC development by mitigating various cellular stresses;nevertheless,the mechanisms of autophagy in OSCC cell proliferation and metastasis remain *** our study,high-sensitivity label-free quantitative proteomics analysis revealed nuclear protein 1(NUPR1)as the most significantly upregulated protein in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumour samples derived from OSCC patients with or without lymphatic metastasis.

＜正＞ In contrast with common opinion that gold is not active in chemical reactions it was reveled that gold nanoparticles with size around 2-5 nm exhibit the high catalytic activity for CO oxidation, NO reduction, water-gas shift reaction, etc. The most outstanding and unusual peculiarity of small gold particles is their high catalytic activity even at room and lower temperatures. Previous studies showed that zeolites are very promising type of support for stabilization of gold clusters and nanoparticles of certain size because of the peculiarities of their structure .

Focal cortical dysplasia(FCD)is one of the most common causes of drug-resistant *** neurons are the major histopathological feature of typeⅡFCD,but their role in seizure genesis in FCD is *** we performed whole-cell patch-clamp recording and morphological reconstruction of cortical principal neurons in postsurgical brain tissue from drug-resistant epilepsy *** analyses revealed distinct morphological and electrophysiological characteristics of the upper layer dysmorphic neurons in typeⅡFCD,including an enlarged soma,aberrant dendritic arbors,increased current injection for rheobase action potential firing,and reduced action potential firing ***,the upper layer dysmorphic neurons received decreased glutamatergic and increased GABAergic synaptic inputs that were coupled with upregulation of the Na^(+)-K^(+)-Cl^(−)*** addition,we found a depolarizing shift of the GABA reversal potential in the CamKⅡ-cre::PTENflox/flox mouse model of drug-resistant epilepsy,suggesting that enhanced GABAergic inputs might depolarize dysmorphic ***,imbalance of synaptic excitation and inhibition of dysmorphic neurons may contribute to seizure genesis in typeⅡFCD.

Background. One of the most active chemotherapy combinations in advanced or recurrent cervical cancer is cis-platin-paclitaxel. However, this palliative regimen is associated with significant toxicity. Carboplatin-paclitaxel is thus an attractive option. Methods. Patients with advanced or recurrent carcinoma of the cervix treated with carboplatin-paclitaxel from April 2000 were included in the study. Starting doses of carboplatin-paclitaxel were: AUC 5-6 and 155-175 mg/m2, respectively, repeated every 28 days. Results. Twenty-five women treated with this combination were identified. Twenty-three women (92% ) had prior treatment with pelvic radiotherapy and 14 (56% ) had had concurrent radio-sensitizing cisplatin. There was a 20% PR and a 20% CR rate (10/25). The median progression-free survival for the entire group was 3 months. Responders had a median PFS of 16 months. Fourteen patients (56% ) had died of disease progression. The median overall survival (OS) was 21 months. common toxicities included: grade 1 or 2 anemia, 68% ; grade 3 or 4 anemia, 32% ; grade 3 or 4 neutropenia, 32% ; and grade 1 or 2 peripheral neuropathy, 24% . ECOG PS did not change significantly while on treatment. Eighty-four percent of treatments were delivered on time, and 96% at full dose. Conclusions. Carboplatinpaclitaxel is an active combination in advanced and recurrent cervical cancer. In this predominantly pre-irradiated group, the combination was deliverable, well tolerated, and the most commonly observed toxicity was anemia.1078. Background: Urosepsis is one of the most common infections that require empirical broad spectrum antibiotics immediately after diagnosis. This has led to development of bacterial resistance by acquiring the capability to destroy the β-lactam ring. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional hospital-based study. The study was conducted from 2019 to 2020 at Gezira Hospital for Renal diseases and surgery (GHRDS). A hundred patients were diagnosed clinically with urosepsis and the isolated organisms were Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumonia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The susceptibility test was conducted by Kirby Bauer disc diffusion technique according to clinical laboratory standard institute (CLSI) guidelines. Seventy eight samples of bacterial genomic DNA were confirmed by 16srRNA and multiplex PCR, were performed for genotypic blaOXA-51 and blaOXA-23 gene characterization of isolated bacteria. Then gel electrophoresis was used to identify the presence or absence of (blaOXA-51 and blaOXA-23) genes. Results: 88.5% (69/78) in 16srRNA detected. Using multiplex PCR, the frequencies of blaOXA-51 and blaOXA-23 genes were 13% and 10.1%, respectively. The percentages of isolates which yielded both blaOXA-51 and blaOXA-23 among P. aeruginosa was 25% (1/4), among K. pneumonia was 17% (1/6), and among E. coli was 8% (3/37). Only blaOXA-51 was detected in P. mirabilis 10% (1/10) and only blaOXA-23 was detected in S. aureus 5% (1/18). Conclusion: In this study, the presence of blaOXA-51 and blaOXA-23 genes was increased in the isolated bacteria.

The primary approaches to treat cancerous diseases include drug treatment,surgical procedures,biotherapy,and radiation *** has been the primary treatment for cancer for a long time,but its main drawback is that it kills cancerous cells along with healthy ones,leading to deadly adverse health ***,genitourinary cancer has become a concern in recent years as it is more common in middle-aged ***,researchers are trying to find possible therapeutic options from natural small molecules due to the many drawbacks associated with chemotherapy and other radiation-based *** of research was conducted regarding genitourinary cancer to determine the promising role of natural small ***,this review focused on natural small molecules along with their potential therapeutic targets in the case of genitourinary cancers such as prostate cancer,renal cancer,bladder cancer,testicular cancer,and so ***,this review states some ongoing or completed clinical evidence in this regard.

N6-methyladenosine(m6A) is a critical regulator in the fate of RNA, but whether and how m6A executes its functions in different tissues remains largely obscure. Here we report downregulation of a crucial m6A reader, YTHDF2, leading to tissue-specific programmed cell deaths(PCDs) upon fluorene-9-bisphenol(BHPF) exposure. Currently, Bisphenol A(BPA) substitutes are widely used in plastic *** eight common BPA substitutes, we detected BHPF in 14% serum samples of pregnant participants. In a zebrafish model, BHPF caused tissue-specific PCDs triggering cardiac and vascular ***, BHPF-mediated downregulation of YTHDF2 reduced YTHDF2-facilitated translation of m6A-gch1 for cardiomyocyte ferroptosis, and decreased YTHDF2-mediated m6A-sting1 decay for caudal vein plexus(CVP) apoptosis. The two distinct YTHDF2-mediated m6A regulations and context-dependent co-expression patterns of gch1/ythdf2 and tnfrsf1a/ythdf2 contributed to YTHDF2-mediated tissue-specific PCDs, uncovering a new layer of PCD regulation. Since BHPF/YTHDF2-medaited PCD defects were also observed in mammals, BHPF exposure represents a potential health threat.
