Geometrical Product Specification and verification (GPS) is an ISO standard system coveting standards of size, dimension,geometrical tolerance and surface texture of geometrical product. ISO/TC213 on the GPS has been working towards coordination of the previous standards in tolerance and related metrology in order to publish the next generation of the GPS language. This paper introduces the geometrical product specification model for design, manufacturing and verification based on the improved GPS and its new concepts,i.e., surface models, geometrical features and operations. An application example for the geometrical product specification model is then given.

Study on shift schedule saving energy of automatic transmission of ground vehicles

To improve ground vehicle efficiency, shift schedule energy saving was proposed for the ground vehicle automatic transmission by studying the function of the torque converter and transmission in the vehicular drivetrain. The shift schedule can keep the torque converter working in the high efficiency range under all the working conditions except in the low efficiency range on the left when the transmission worked at the lowest shift, and in the low efficiency range on the right when the transmission worked at the highest shift. The shift quality key factors were analysed. The automatic trans-mission's bench-test adopting this shift schedule was made on the automatic transmission's test-bed. The experimental results showed that the shift schedule was correct and that the shift quality was controllable.

FMS is a sort of highly automatic machining system, how to ensure partquality is master key to system highly active running. At first, series of machining dimension andprocess capability of flexible manufacturing system(FMS), is analyzed. Result of its, strongself-correlation of data series shows that time series analysis is applicable to data seriesanalyzed. Based on-line modeling and forecasting for data series, principle and method of feedbackcompensation control is proposed. On a foundation of the virtual instrument platform, Labview ofnational instrument (NI), FMS dimension and process capability monitoring system(monitoring system)is developed. In practice, it is proved that part quality and process capability of FMS are greatlyimproved.

New shift schedule for automatic transmission is proposed from the point ofview of saving energy. The bench-test of automatic shift adopting this shift schedule is done onautomatic transmission's test-bed. The experimental results show the shift schedule is correct. Thisshift schedule has enriched the theory of vehicle automatic maneuvering and will improve theefficiency of hydrodynamic drive system of the vehicle.

The method using series expansion is presented, and the wavenumber is separated from fundamental solution of Helmholtz boundary element equation, then the system matrices dependent of wavenumber are the matrices series associated with wavenumber, and the astringency of the method is proved. The numerical results show that combined with the CHIEFmethod, the SECHIEF (Series Expansion Combined Helmholtz Integral Equation Formulation) method can not only provide uniqueness of solution and reduce the computational time but also give accurate results under the coarse elements.
