An Efficient and Flexible Bifunctional Dual-Band Electrochromic Device Integrating with Energy Storage

Dual-band electrochromic devices capable of the spectral-selective modulation of visible(VIS)light and near-infrared(NIR)can notably reduce the energy consumption of buildings and improve the occupants’visual and thermal ***,the low optical modulation and poor durability of these devices severely limit its practical ***,we demonstrate an efficient and flexible bifunctional dual-band electrochromic device which not only shows excellent spectral-selective electrochromic performance with a high optical modulation and a long cycle life,but also displays a high capacitance and a high energy recycling efficiency of 51.4%,integrating energy-saving with *** nanowires structure and abundant oxygen-vacancies of oxygen-deficient tungsten oxide nanowires endows it high flexibility and a high optical modulation of 73.1%and 85.3%at 633 and 1200 nm *** prototype device assembled can modulate the VIS light and NIR independently and effectively through three distinct modes with a long cycle life(3.3%capacity loss after 10,000 cycles)and a high energy-saving performance(8.8℃lower than the common glass).Furthermore,simulations also demonstrate that our device outperforms the commercial low-emissivity glass in terms of energy-saving in most climatic zones around the *** windows represent an intriguing potential technology to improve the building energy efficiency.

Developing the rural homestay industry is beneficial for poverty reduction in rural areas and its sustainable development is closely related to the continuous operation intention of rural homestay *** on a first-hand questionnaire survey data for 368 rural homestay entrepreneurs,methods such as factor analysis,multiple regression analysis and the mediation effect test were used to explore the impact of entrepreneurial motivation on the continuous operation intention of rural homestay entrepreneurs and its internal *** results indicate that entrepreneurial motivation has a significant positive impact on rural homestay entrepreneurs’continuous operation *** relations and entrepreneurial performance perception not only have simple mediating effects,but they also play a serial role in mediating the above *** study provides a systematic theoretical framework for understanding and improving the continuous operation intention of rural homestay entrepreneurs,which can assist in ending the poverty dimension of the UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)to some extent.

Deforestation is one of the most serious environmental problems facing *** continues to escalate rapidly across many regions of the world,thereby deteriorating the forest soil *** has prompted a large number of field-based studies aimed at understanding the impacts of deforestation on soil ***,the lack of comprehensive meta-analyses that utilized these studies has limited our deeper understanding of how different soil properties,including the soil organic carbon(SOC)pool,respond to *** address this critical knowledge gap,we conducted a meta-analysis of 144 studies to explore the impacts of deforestation on soil chemical,physical,and biological properties,with special emphasis on the long-term changes in SOC,such as concentrations,stocks,and *** results revealed that deforestation significantly decreased soil organic matter,electrical conductivity,and base saturation by 52%,50%,and 98%,*** deforestation increased soil total nitrogen content and decreased available phosphorus content by 51%and 99%,respectively,it resulted in slight decreases in some chemical properties,including soil pH(1%)and base cations(1%–13%).Deforestation significantly increased bulk density by 27%and soil erosion by 47%,but significantly decreased soil aggregate stability by 39%and saturated hydraulic conductivity by 63%.Soil microbial biomass C and N concentrations and enzyme activities were significantly decreased as a consequence of *** biological properties were much more affected by deforestation than soil physical and chemical *** the SOC,the land use conversion from forest to pasture significantly increased SOC concentrations,stocks,and sequestration rates(11%–13%),whereas the land use conversions from forest to both plantation and cropland significantly decreased SOC concentrations,stocks,and sequestration rates(10%–43%).This observed decline in SOC accumulations decreased with inc

Safety assessment of approximate segregated parallel operation on closely spaced parallel runways

With the continuous growth of air traffic flow, some airports in China or other countries begin to construct Closely Spaced Parallel Runways(CSPR) to meet the capacity requirement of civil aviation. In this paper, the simulation and calculation method of flight trajectory is developed,as well as the collision risk calculation method and wake vortex encounter risk calculation *** methods for departure and go-around procedures are proposed to achieve approximate segregated parallel operation in an attempt to obtain approximately the same results on closely spaced parallel runways as on widely spaced parallel runways. By comparing with the independent parallel departure and segregated parallel operation in ICAO Doc. 9643, it is found that the lateral separation between aircraft in this proposal is not less than the separations in the other two cases. Based on the simulation calculation of flight trajectories under different conditions, the probabilities of collision conflict and encountering wake vortex are lower than those in current operation *** proposed plan has no special requirements in pilot operation, control command procedures,airport facilities, or meteorological observation and prediction, so it is convenient to promote and implement at the airports with closely spaced parallel runways.

Potentials of community-based tourism in transformations towards green economies after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in West China

This study investigates the contrasting sceneries of community-based tourism after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and focuses on the potentials of tourism in transformations towards green economies. How are tourism and environment linked in a sustainable relationship? And how can potentials of community-based tourism be directed in transformations towards green economies? A qualitative research design is used to examine contrasting sceneries and specific green elements of community-based tourism in a Qiang people's fortress village in Mao County, Sichuan Province, West China and further discuss how tourism can be compatible with human wellbeing through demonstrating a commitment to sustainable development. The study argues that potential economic, social and environmental costs of tourism need to be considered when evaluating the loss of community benefits toward sustainability. The green elements suggest the potential of community-based tourism in transformations towards green economies, involving green agricultural, green building, and green energy, green governance, green service and green consumption. This study will contribute to the debate about the relationship between tourism and environment sustainability in the green economies, as well as the critique of what can be learned for community development from green tourism in mountainous regions after the inevitable natural disasters.

Dark Touristic Perception: Motivation, Experience and Benefits Interpreted from the Visit to Seismic Memorial Sites in Sichuan Province

This study investigates the motivations of Chinese domestic tourists visiting seismic memorial sites after the great Wenchuan earthquake of 2008, and examines their interpretation of experiences and benefits of the visits. Recent research on dark tourism has raised the possibility that people are attracted to death and memorial sites in ways different from other tourist attractions. The study used an empirical research design employing questionnaires to collect data from 255 Chinese domestic visitors at seismic memorial sites in west Sichuan. Analysis revealed that the obligation of commemoration mixed with curiosity represents a different set of travel motivation in dark tourism settings than in other kinds of tourism. In addition, the empirical evidence also suggests an interrelated pattern between motivations, experiences and benefits. This study implies that Chinese domestic tourists were attracted in ways different from other tourist attractions both because they tended to fulfill their obligation of commemoration and were interested in destruction; and visitor experiences played an important mediating role between travel motivations and benefits gained.

Three-Dimensional Planning of Arrival and Departure Route Network Based on Improved Ant-Colony Algorithm

An Evolutionary Economic Geography Perspective on Types of Operation Development in West Lake, China

The types of operation play a key role in facilitating tourism consumption and economic development in a tourism destination. By adopting evolutionary economic geography theory, the paper analyzes the types of operation in West Lake Scenic Area from 1978 to 2013. First, an evolution process consisting of four stages is underpinned, and they are: the new establishment stage, the preliminary development stage, the speedup development stage, and the stabilized maturity stage. Specifically, the distinct characteristics associated with operation types are compared and evaluated at different stages throughout the process. The evolution trees are introduced to scrutinize types of operation development. The results of evolution trees demonstrate the substantial increase in both numbers and types. Second, by applying GIS spatial analysis, the paper also analyzes the spatial evolution characteristics on the types of operation, and the results unveil the co-existence of centripetal and centrifugal forces: the processes of spatial agglomeration and spatial dispersion. More specifically, we recognize the spatial process includes the emergence of node and concentration(1978–1995), the sparse distribution and intensity reduction(1996–2002), the patchy distribution and spatial agglomeration intensification(2003–2008), the dispersed distribution and core area agglomeration(2009–2013). Lastly, path dependence on resource endowment, government and market innovation, knowledge learning and spillover can reasonably explain the types of operation evolution. In conclusion, the evolutionary economic geography theories provide new theoretical and empirical perspectives for tourism policy analysis. At the same time, our comprehensive evidences impart more comprehensive insights and offer useful managerial and policy implications.

DBN-GABP model for estimation of aircraft wake vortex parameters using Lidar data

Aircraft wake turbulence is an inherent outcome of aircraft flight,presenting a substan-tial challenge to air traffic control,aviation safety and operational *** upon data obtained from coherent Doppler Lidar detection,and combining Dynamic Bayesian Networks(DBN)with Genetic Algorithm-optimized Backpropagation Neural Networks(GA-BPNN),this paper proposes a model for the inversion of wake vortex *** the wake vortex flow field simulation analysis,the wind and turbulent environment were initially superimposed onto the simulated wake velocity ***,Lidar-detected echoes of the velocity field are simulated to obtain a data set similar to the actual situation for model *** the case study validation,real measured data underwent preprocessing and were then input into the established *** allowed us to construct the wake vortex characteristic parameter inversion *** final results demonstrated that our model achieved parameter inversion with only minor *** a practical example,our model in this paper significantly reduced the mean square error of the inverted velocity field when compared to the traditional *** study holds significant promise for real-time monitoring of wake vortices at airports,and is proved a crucial step in developing wake vortex interval standards.
