The constitutions of terpenoids and hormones of leaves in red-flesh citrus mutants and their wild types

To study the profiles and relationships of terpenoids and phytohormones in leaves of red-flesh citrus,we examined four red-flesh mutants that accumulate lycopene in the fruit and their corresponding wild *** compared their contents of monoterpenoid and sesquiterpenoid volatiles,triterpenoid limonoid aglycones,and tetraterpenoid *** types and concentrations of these terpenoids in the leaves varied among genotypes,and the leaf terpenoid profiles differed between red-fleshmutants and theirwild ***,lycopenewas not detected in citrus leaves of all eight varieties,including the *** to phytohormone accumulation in the leaves,the citrus varieties could be classified into a low-phytohormone group(‘Red Anliu’sweet orange,‘Anliu’sweet orange,and‘Cara Cara’navel orange),a high-phytohormone group(‘Seike’navel orange),and a high-jasmonic acid group(‘Red-flesh Guanxi’pummelo,‘Guanxi’pummelo,‘Chuhong’pummelo,and‘Feicui’pummelo).The contents of terpenoid volatiles were very low in leaves of‘Red-flesh Guanxi’and‘Guanxi’pummelo;therefore,they are ideal materials for verifying the functions of genes related to terpenoid volatiles in overexpression *** volatiles were positively correlated with phytohormones of abscisic acid,jasmonic acid,and salicylic *** together,lycopene was undetected in the leaves of redflesh citrus mutants with abundant lycopene in their juice sacs,which suggested a tissue-specific accumulation pattern of lycopene in citrus red-flesh ***,leaf volatile profiles could be suitable to develop fingerprint chromatograms of citrus resources,since leaf volatile profiles were dominated by several compounds that varied among genotypes in their combinations and concentrations.

The KNRL nuclear receptor controls hydrolase-mediated vitellin breakdown during embryogenesis in the brown planthopper,Nilaparvata lugens

Vitellin(Vn)homeostasis is central to the fecundity of oviparous *** studies have focused on the synthesis and transportation of Vn as a building block for developing eggs during vitellogenesis;however,less is known about how the utilization of this nutrient reserve affects embryonic ***,we show that the single ortholog of the knirps and knirps-like nuclear receptors,KNRL,negatively regulates Vn breakdown by suppressing the expression of hydrolase genes in the brown planthopper,Nilaparvata *** was highly expressed in the ovary of adult females,and knockdown of KNRL by RNA interference resulted in the acceleration of Vn breakdown and the inhibition of embryonic *** sequencing analysis revealed that numerous hydrolase genes,including cathepsins and trypsins were up-regulated after KNRL *** least eight of the nine significantly enriched Gene Ontology terms for the up-regulated genes were in proteolysis-related *** expression levels of five selected trypsin genes and the enzymatic activities of trypsin in the embryos were significantly increased after KNRL ***,trypsin injection prolonged egg duration,delayed embryonic development,accelerated Vn breakdown and severely reduced egg hatchability,a pattern similar to that observed in A7V/?L-silenced *** observations suggest that KNRL controls Vn breakdown in embryos via the transcriptional inhibition of ***,this study provides a foundation for understanding how embryo nutrient reserves are mobilized during embryogenesis and identifies several genes and pathways that may prove valuable targets for pest control.

The chemokine thymus-expressed chemokine(TECK),which regulates T-cell development and tissue-specific homing,has been identified as a potential contributor to the pathogenesis and progression of ***(2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin,TCDD),an air pollutant,and estrogen also appear to be involved in *** endometrial stromal cells(ESCs)and the combination of 17b-estradiol and TCDD increase the secretion of TECK in the endometriosis-associated cells and promote the invasiveness of ESCs by increasing expression of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2 and ***-TECK neutralizing antibodies can effectively inhibit the invasiveness of ESCs and the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the ***,the expression of chemokine C receptor 9(CCR9)and its ligand TECK increases significantly in the endometriotic milieu of patients with ***,the over-expressed TECK interacts with CCR9 on the ESCs in the endometriotic milieu,which may contribute to the onset and progression of endometriosis.

Formation and evolution mechanisms of large-clusters during rapid solidification process of liquid metal Al

A molecular dynamics simulation study has been performed for the formation and evolution characteristics of nano-clusters in a large-scale system consisting of 400000 atoms of liquid metal Al. The center-atom method combined with pair-bond analysis technique and cluster-type index method (CTIM) has been applied here to describe the structural configurations of various basic clusters. It is demonstrated that both the 1551 bond-type and the icosahedral cluster (12 0 12 0) constructed by 1551 bond-types are dominant among all the bond-types and cluster-types, respectively, in the system and play a critical role in the microstructure transitions of liquid metal Al. The nano-clusters (containing up to 150 atoms) are formed by the combination of some middle and small clusters with distinctly different sizes, through mutual competition by unceasing annex and evolution in a seesaw manner (in turn of obtaining and losing),which do not occur as the multi-shell structures accumulated with an atom as the center and the surrounding atoms are arranged according to a certain rule. This is the essential distinction of nano-cluster in liquid metal from those obtained by gaseous deposition, ionic spray methods, and so on. Though the nano-clusters differ from each other in shape and size, all of them possess protruding corners that could become the starting points of various dendrite structures in the solidification processes of liquid metals.

Effects of reduction temperature and content of Pd loading on the performance Pd/CeO2 catalyst for CO oxidation

The content of noble metal loading and the reduction process of the catalysts are important factors influence the economic indicator and catalytic performance for industrial catalysis. In the present work, Pd/CeO2NT (Pd supported on the CeO2 nanotubes) catalysts are prepared with the hydrothermal synthesized CeO2NT and glutathione (GSH) reduced Pd nanoparticles via impregnation. The content of Pd loading as well as the catalysts reduction temperature are optimized to the CO oxidation reduction. Our results show that the best Pd loading is 1.5%Pd/CeO2NT. The catalysts reduced at 350 ℃ for 2 h prior to catalytic reaction perform the best toward CO oxidation, which reaches completely CO conversion at 70 ℃. The XRD, Raman, H2-TPR, TEM, BET and XPS characterization reveal that the excellent catalytic performance of 350 °C 1.5%Pd/CeO2NT sample can be attributed the high Pd^0 species and oxygen vacancy in the sample, which are important factors influence the activity of the catalysts.

The role of diet and nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle has become a central part of chronic disease prevention(1).Chronic conditions such as cancer,Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)and obesity are more prevalent in people with poor diets(2).Food consumption is controlled by physiological systems such as the gut-microbiome and distinct neuroendocrine pathways that overlap to promote host nutritional gain resulting in people living longer healthier lives(3).A recent analysis of the global burden of disease by the World Health Organization(WHO),noted that factors associated with poor diet,including obesity and malnutrition,critically undermine health and *** note that undernutrition,deficiencies in key nutrients and obesity have high social and economic *** disease,cancer,diabetes,and respiratory diseases account for 77%of all diseases and are responsible for 86%of all premature deaths(4).There is an appreciation that diets that reduce or eliminate red meats and animal fats results in the reduction of many of the indicators of poor diet,such as body mass index(BMI)and levels of cholesterol in the blood.

Surgical management of complicated hydatid cysts of the liver

AIM: To review the clinical presentation and surgical management of complicated hydatid cysts of the liver and to assess whether conservative surgery is adequate in the management of complicated hydatid cysts of ***:The study was carried out at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science,Srinagar,Kashmir,*** nine patients with hydatid disease of the liver were surgically managed from April 2004 to October 2005 with a follow up period of three *** included 27 men and 42 women with a median age of 35 *** abdominal ultrasound,computed tomography and serology established *** with jaundice and high suspicion of intrabiliary rupture were subjected to preoperative endoscopic retrograde *** with infection,rupture into the biliary tract and peritoneal cavity were categorized as complicated *** patients(26%)had complicated cysts and formed the basis for this ***:Common complications were infection(14%),intrabiliary rupture(9%)and intraperitoneal rupture(3%).All the patients with infected cysts presented with pain and *** the patients with intrabiliary rupture had jaundice,while only four with intrabiliary rupture had pain and only two had *** procedures performed in complicated cysts were:infection-omentoplasty in three and external drainage in seven;intrabiliary rupture-omentoplasty in two and internal drainage in four *** patients with intraperitoneal rupture underwent external *** was no *** postoperative morbidity was 50%in complicated cysts and 16%in uncomplicated ***:Complicated hydatid cyst of the liver can be successfully managed surgically with good long term results.

Visual Simulation of Multiple Fluids in Computer Graphics： A State-of-the-Art Report

Realistic animation of various interactions between multiple fluids, possibly undergoing phase change, is a challenging task in computer graphics. The visual scope of multi-phase multi-fluid phenomena covers complex tangled surface structures and rich color variations, which can greatly enhance visual effect in graphics applications. Describing such phenomena requires more complex models to handle challenges involving the calculation of interactions, dynamics and spatial distribution of multiple phases, which are often involved and hard to obtain real-time performance. Recently, a diverse set of algorithms have been introduced to implement the complex multi-fluid phenomena based on the governing physical laws and novel discretization methods to accelerate the overall computation while ensuring numerical stability. By sorting through the target phenomena of recent research in the broad subject of multiple fluids, this state-of-the-art report summarizes recent advances on multi-fluid simulation in computer graphics.

Construction of BiVO_(4)/BiOCl@C Z-scheme heterojunction for enhanced photoelectrochemical performance

A Z-scheme heterostructure of Mo,W co-doped BiVO_(4)(Mo,W:BVO/BiOCl@C)was fabricated by a simple solid solution drying and calcination(SSDC)*** heterostructure was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),*** visible light irradiation,Mo,W:BVO/BiOCl@C heterostructure exhibits excellent photoelectrochemical capability compared with other as-prepared *** photocurrent density and the incident photon-to-electron conversion efficiency(IPCE)are about 5.4 and 9.0 times higher than those of pure BiVO_(4),*** enhancement of the photoelectrochemical performance can be attributed to the construct of Z-scheme system,which is deduced from the radical trapping *** Mo,W:BVO/BiOCl@C Z-scheme heterojunction enhances the visible-light absorption and reduces the recombination rate of charge *** work provides an effective strategy to construct Z-scheme photoelectrodes for the application of photoelectrochemical water splitting.

Precipitation scale effect of the TRMM satellite in Tianshan,China

High-resolution precipitation data is conducive to objectively describe the spatial-temporal variability of regional precipitation,and the study of downscaling techniques and spatial scale effects can provide technical and theoretical support to improve the spatial resolution and accuracy of satellite precipitation *** this study,we used a machine learning algorithm combined with a regression algorithm RF-PLS(Random Forest-Partial Least Squares)to construct a downscaling model to obtain three types of high-resolution TRMM(Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission)downscaled precipitation data for the years 2000-2017 at 250 m,500 m,and *** scale effects with topographic and geomorphological features in the study area were ***,we described the spatial and temporal variation of precipitation based on the optimal TRMM downscaled precipitation *** results showed that:1)The linear relationships between the TRMM downscaled precipitation data obtained by each of the three downscaled models(PLS,RF,and RF-PLS)and the precipitation at the observation stations were improved compared to the linear relationships between the original TRMM data and the precipitation at the observation *** accuracy of the RF-PLS model was better than the other two models.2)Based on the RF-PLS model,the resolution of the TRMM data was increased to three different scales(250 m,500 m,and 1 km),considering the scale effects with topographic and geomorphological *** precipitation simulation effect with a spatial resolution of 500 m was better than the other two scales.3)The annual precipitation was the highest in the areas with extremely high mountains,followed by the mediumhigh mountain,high mountain,medium mountain,medium-low mountain,plain,low mountain,and basin.
