Body size induced changes in metabolic carbon of soil nematodes under N deposition and precipitation regime change in a temperate grassland

Background Global climate change has resulted in precipitation regimes exhibiting an increasing trend in rainfall intensity but a reduction in its frequency. Nitrogen(N) deposition is a crucial component of the global N cycling. Nematode body size is a trait that responds to climate change and is used as a standard trait-based indicator in soil community analysis. Variations in body size influence metabolic carbon(C). We examined the ways by which body size and metabolic C of nematodes respond to changing precipitation regimes and how N deposition regulates these responses by an 8-year manipulative *** Nematode body size was indicated by the community-weighted mean(CWM) mass. We quantified C metabolism components of soil nematodes including production C, respiration C, and corresponding C use efficiency(CUE) under different precipitation intensities and N addition in a semi-arid steppe on the Mongolian Plateau. The Mantel test was used to determine the correlations between CWM, CUE and environmental factors. The partial least squares path modeling(PLS-PM) was conducted to quantify direct or indirect contributions among latent *** We found that heavy precipitation intensity increased the CWM mass of total nematodes and omnivorespredators without N addition. N addition decreased CWM mass of bacterivores across all the precipitation intensity treatments. Stronger precipitation intensities might be favorable for nematode production and respiration C. Variations in the nematode CWM mass drove the CUE to change with N *** Our findings provide new insights into the mechanisms underlying nematode body size and C metabolism, and highlight that explorative studies, such as manipulative experiments, are needed to identify traits underlying size-related effects and to investigate how they affect CUE of nematodes. Atmospheric chemistry of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde:Initiated by photo-excitation,OH-oxidation,and small TiO_(2) clusters adsorption catalysis

The fate of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde(2-NBA)is of interest in atmospheric chemistry as it is a semi-volatile organic compound with high *** study presents a quantum chemical study of the gas-phase reactions of 2-NBA photo-excitation and OH-oxidation in the absence and presence of small TiO_(2) *** further understand the unknown photolysis mechanism,the photo-reaction pathways of ground singlet state and the lying excited triplet state of 2-NBA were investigated including the initial and subsequent reactions of proton transfer,direct CO,NO_(2),and HCO elimination routes in the presence of O_(2) and ***,the OH-mediated degradation of 2-NBA proceeded via five H-extraction and six OH-addition channels by indirect mechanism,which follows a succession of reaction steps initiated by the formation of weakly stable intermediate *** H-extraction from the-CHO group was the dominant pathway with a negative activation energy of-1.22 kcal/*** calculated rate coefficients at 200–600 K were close to the experimental data in literature within 308-352 K,and the kinetic negative temperature independence was found in both experimental literature and computational ***,2-NBA was favored to be captured onto small TiO_(2) clusters via six adsorption configurations formed via various combination of three types of bonds of Ti…O,Ti…C,and O…H between the molecularly adsorbed 2-NBA and TiO_(2) *** indicted that the chemisorptions of aldehyde oxygen have largest *** results suggested adsorption conformations have a respectable impact on the catalysis *** study is significant for understanding the atmospheric chemistry of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde.

In this study,the double loaded Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(NF:Ni foam)thin film catalysts were prepared for the first time via chemical deposition method at room *** optimizing the reducing agent concentration to 0.9 mol·L^(-1),the as-obtained Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF exhibited the twisted ribbon structure with more distinct three-dimensional hierarchy and the smaller particle size,showing the good catalytic property for the hydrolysis of NaBH_(4)*** H_(2)generation rate of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF and binary Co-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF under visible light irradiation surpassed the value under natural *** apparent activation energy of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(45.0 kJ·mol^(-1))under visible light irradiation was obviously reduced when compared with the natural condition(48.4 kJ·mol^(-1))and binary Co-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF(60.6 kJ·mol^(-1))under visible light ***,the catalytic performance of the optimized Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF thin film catalyst was superior to most of the reported non-noble metal and even noble metal ***,it illustrated that the catalytic H_(2)production performance of Co-Fe-B@g-C_(3)N_(4)/NF thin film was distinctly improved after the introduction of light and multicomponent recombination.

During the late Paleozoic to early Mesozoic,a tectonic transition occurred in Northeast China,marking a shift from the Paleo-Asian Ocean to the Mongolian Okhotsk and Paleo-Pacific tectonic domains[1].As a result of regional compression induced by oceanic closure and continental collision,stratigraphic records from this period are scarce,but such records are essential for elucidating the tectonic and paleographic evolution of the region during the transition.

Unveiling the Re,Cr,and I diffusion in saturated compacted bentonite using machine-learning methods

The safety assessment of high-level radioactive waste repositories requires a high predictive accuracy for radionuclide diffusion and a comprehensive understanding of the diffusion *** this study,a through-diffusion method and six machine-learning methods were employed to investigate the diffusion of ReO_(4)^(−),HCrO_(4)^(−),and I−in saturated compacted bentonite under different salinities and compacted dry *** machine-learning models were trained using two *** dataset contained six input features and 293 instances obtained from the diffusion database system of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency(JAEA-DDB)and 15 *** other dataset,comprising 15,000 pseudo-instances,was produced using a multi-porosity model and contained eight input *** results indicate that the former dataset yielded a higher predictive accuracy than the *** gradient-boosting exhibited a higher prediction accuracy(R2=0.92)and lower error(MSE=0.01)than the other machine-learning *** addition,Shapley Additive Explanations,Feature Importance,and Partial Dependence Plot analysis results indicate that the rock capacity factor and compacted dry density had the two most significant effects on predicting the effective diffusion coefficient,thereby offering valuable insights.

Effect of yttrium on catalytic performance of Y-doped TiO_(2) catalysts for propane dehydrogenation

Defective bulk catalysts based on TiO_(2) have superior catalytic performance for propane dehydrogenation(PDH).The oxygen vacancy concentration and the number of active sites on the catalyst surface can be effectively tuned by doping metal in TiO_(2).Herein,yttrium(Y)-doped titanium dioxide(nY/TiO_(x))catalysts were in-situ synthesized via the coprecipitation method to study the effect of rare earth metal Y doping on the structure of TiO_(2) and the catalytic performance for *** results demonstrate that Ydoped TiO_(2) exhibits higher catalytic activity,propylene selectivity and stability than bare TiO_(2).Full characterizations with X-ray diffraction(XRD),high-resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),infrared spectroscopy of pyridine adsorption(Py-IR),temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia(NH_(3)-TPD),H_(2) temperature-programmed reduction(H_2-TPR),and Raman techniques on these catalysts reveal that Y^(3+)can enter TiO_(2) lattice,and the lattice stability of the catalyst can be enhanced by replacing Ti^(4+)to form Y-O-Ti ***,the introduction of an appropriate amount of Y can obviously promote the PDH reaction by adjusting the acidity of the catalyst,improving the release capacity of TiO_(2) lattice oxygen and increasing the formation of active ***,excessive Y doping will lead to pore clogging,and the exposure of active sites will be reduced,resulting in the degradation of catalytic performance.

The elimination of pollutants from diesel exhaust has received widespread research attention as they cause serious air pollution and pose a threat to human *** post-treatment technology is one of the most effective and universal technologies to treat diesel exhaust *** design and development of efficient and low-cost catalysts is the key factor to realize the wide application of catalytic post-treatment ***(Ce)-based oxides with specific morphologies are widely used to eliminate pollutants in diesel vehicle exhaust due to their unique physical and chemical properties,such as high catalytic activity,low cost and *** this review,the preparation methods of Cebased oxide materials with specific morphologies,such as nanoparticles,nanocubes,nanorods,nanofibers,and multi-stage pores,are introduced in detail,and the research progress on using these catalysts for the removal of carbon monoxide,hydrocarbons,soot particles,nitrogen oxides,and other pollutants from diesel exhaust is reviewed in ***,the unresolved issues associated with using Ce-based oxide catalysts with a specific morphology to catalytically remove pollutants from diesel exhaust are highlighted,and future application prospects and development directions are discussed.

Coniopteris simplex is a common component in many Jurassic ***,due to morphological variations in sterile fronds and incomplete preservation of reproductive organs,its classification has been controversial for a long ***,we present new material collected from the Middle Jurassic Yan’an Formation in the Ordos Basin,Inner *** new material reveals important morphological characters,including hemi-dimorphic fronds,two forms of sterile pinnae,short-stalked sori and sporangia on fertile fronds,annulus of sporangium composed of about 30 cells,in situ rounded triangular spores with protruded suture,and the lips of trilete laesura encircled by one or two rows of small *** on these observations,we emended the diagnosis of this common *** spatio-temporal distribution of Coniopteris simplex shows that the iconic species was restricted to the paleolatitudes ranging from 19.5°N to 48.9°N in the Northern Hemisphere during the Early—Late Jurassic,mainly distributed in the tropical to paratropical zones,and the paleolongitude ranging from 9.6°E to 129.3°E,which may be limited by the opening of the Viking Corridor and the splitting of the Central Atlantic Ocean.

Al-modified yolk-shell silica particle-supported NiMo catalysts for ultradeep hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene and 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene:Efficient accessibility of active sites and suitable acidity

Yolk-shell SiO2 particles(YP)with center-radial meso-channels were fabricated through a simple and effective ***-containing YP-supported NiMo catalysts with different Al amounts(NiMo/AYP-x,x=Si/Al molar proportion)were prepared and dibenzothiophene(DBT)and 4,6-dimethyl-dibenzothiophene(4,6-DMDBT)were employed as the probes to evaluate the hydrodesulfurization(HDS)catalytic *** as-prepared AYP-x carriers and corresponding catalysts were characterized by some advanced characterizations to obtain deeper correlations between physicochemical properties and the HDS *** average pore sizes of series AYP-x supports are above 6.0 nm,which favors the mass transfer of organic *** cavity between the yolk and the shell is beneficial for the enrichment of S-containing compounds and the accessibility between reactants and active *** embedded into the silica framework could facilitate the formation of Lewis(L)and Brønsted(B)acid sites and adjust the metal-support interaction(MSI).Among all the as-synthesized catalysts,NiMo/AYP-20 catalyst shows the highest HDS *** improved HDS activity of NiMo/AYP-20 catalyst is attributed to the perfect combination of excellent structural properties of the yolk-shell mesoporous silica,enhanced acidity,moderate MSI,and good accessibility/dispersion of active components.

Provenance of Upper Jurassic in North Yellow Sea Basin， Eastern North China Craton

Base on the detrital zircon U-Pb dating data， this paper discusses the provenance and constructs source-to-sink system of the Upper Jurassic in the North Yellow Sea Basin (NYSB)， Eastern North China Craton (ENCC). In addition， to avoid the bias of detrital zircon ages caused by variations in zircon fertility， we gather 1709 whole rock zirconium content values (ppm) from granitic rocks with different ages in the North China Craton (NCC). Base on mean Zr content of granitic rocks in each age， these granitic rocks can be divided into four groups: Group A consists of Jurassic， Group B consists of Paleozoic， Neo-Mesoproterozoic and Neoarchean， Group C consists of Early Cretaceous and Triassic， and Group D consists of Paleoproterozoic. This research assigns these groups zircon fertility factors (ZFF) of 1， 1.4， 1.8 and 2.2. The U-Pb age of detrital zircons from Late Jurassic sediments corrected by ZFF are statistically analyzed (K-S test， Similarity， Cross-correlation， Linkeness， Multidimensional scaling). And combining with palaeocurrent and palaeogeography， we construct two source-to-sink systems: 1) Jiaodong Uplift and Sulu Orogenic belt as the source area and the North Yellow Sea Basin as the sink area; 2) Liaodong Peninsula as the source area and the North Yellow Sea Basin as the sink area.
