Effect of simulation-based teaching on nursing skill performance: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective:To summarize and produce aggregated evidence on the effect of simulation-based teaching on skill performance in the nursing *** is an active learning strategy involving the use of various resources to assimilate the real *** enables learners to improve their skills and knowledge in a coordinated ***:Systematic literature search of original research ar ticles was carried out through Google Scholar,Medline,and Cochrane Cumulative Index to nursing and Allied Health Literature(CINAHL)*** conducted on simulation-based teaching and skill performance among nursing students or clinical nursing staff from 2010 to 2019,and published in the English language,were included in this *** quality was assessed by Joanna Briggs Institute,and the risk of bias was also assessed by Cochrane risk of bias and the risk of bias assessment tool for non-randomized studies(ROBINS-I)***:Initially,638 titles were obtained from 3 sources,and 24 original studies with 2209 study par ticipants were taken for the final *** the total studies,14(58.3%)used single group prep post design,7(29.1%)used high fidelity simulator(HFS),and 7(29.1%)used a virtual simulator(VS).Twenty(83.3%)studies reported improved skill performance following simulation-based ***-based teaching improves skill performance among types of groups(single or double),study regions,high fidelity(HF),low fidelity(LF),and standard patient(SP)*** the effect over virtual and medium fidelity simulators was not statistically ***,simulation-based teaching improves the skill performance score among the experimental group(d=1.01,95%confidence interval[CI][0.69–1.33],Z=6.18,P<0.01,93.9%).Significant heterogeneity and publication bias were observed during the pooled ***:Simulation did improve skill performance among the intervention groups,but the conclusion is uncer tain due to the signif

Objective:To establish basic data for identifying the level of mental health care competency of general nurses through verification of the reliability and validity of Competency Assessment Tool-Mental Health in the development of a measurement tool for mental health care competency in ***:This study was conducted on nurses working at general wards,excluding those working at the Department of Psychiatry,in five hospitals with 200 beds or more located in ***,construct,concurrent validity,and internal consistency of the measurement were ***:As a result of the construct validity,the section on importance of skills and knowledge for mental health care had 21 items,whereas the section on benefits of additional education had 22 *** internal consistency of measurement was confirmed as follows:Cronbach’s α=0.96 for the section on importance and 0.96 for the section on benefits ***:This study verified the high validity and reliability of the tool in assessing the mental health care competency of nurses,and it is believed to be significant as basic data for enhancing such competency.

Safety and Efficacy of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography for Common Bile Duct Stones in Liver Cirrhotic Patients

In order to investigate the safety and efficacy of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograpy（ERCP） in liver cirrhosis patients with common bile duct stones, we retrospectively analyzed data of 46 common bile duct stones patients with liver cirrhosis who underwent ERCP between 2000 and 2008. There were 12 cases of Child-Pugh A, 26 cases of Child-Pugh B, and 8 cases of Child-Pugh C. 100 common bile duct stones patients without liver cirrhosis were randomly selected. All the patients were subjected to ERCP for biliary stones extraction. The rates of bile duct clearance and complications were compared between cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients. The success rate of selective biliary cannulation was 95.6% in liver cirrhotic patients versus 97% in non-cirrhotic patients（P〉0.05）. The bile duct clearance rate was 87% in cirrhotic patients versus 96% in non-cirrhotic patients, but the difference was not statistically significant. Two liver cirrhotic patients（4.35%, 2/46） who were scored Child-Pugh C had hematemesis and melena 24 h after ERCP. The hemorrhage rate after ERCP in non-cirrhotic patients was 3%. The hemorrhage rate associated with ERCP in Child-Pugh C patients was significantly higher（25%, 2/8） than that（3%, 3/100） in non-cirrhotic patients（P〈0.01%）. There was no significant difference between these two groups in the rate of post-ERCP pancreatitis（PEP） and cholangitis. ERCP is safe and effective for Child-Pugh A and B cirrhotic patients with common bile duct stones. Hemorrhage risk in ERCP is higher in Child-Pugh C patients.

A Large Scale of Nurses Participated in Beating down COVID-19 in China:The Physical and Psychological Distress

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) posed an unprecedented threat to health care providers (HCPs) in Wuhan, China, especially for nurses who were frequently exposed to infected or suspected patients. Limited information was available about the working experience of nurses in fighting against the pandemic. To learn the physical and psychological responses of nurses during the pandemic and explore the potential determinants, we conducted a large-scale survey in Wuhan. This multicenter cross-sectional study enrolled 5521 nurses who worked in designated hospitals, mobile cabins, or shelters during the pandemic. A structured online questionnaire was distributed to assess the physical discomforts, emotional distress and cognitive reactions of nurses at work, and the log-binomial regression analysis was performed to explore potential determinants. A considerable proportion of nurses had symptoms of physical discomforts [3677 (66.6%)] and emotional distress [4721 (85.5%)]. Nurses who were directly involved in the care of patients (i.e., care for severe patients: RR, 2.35;95% CI, 1.95–2.84), with irregular work schedules (RR, 2.36;95% CI, 1.95–2.87), and working overtime (RR, 1.34;95% CI, 1.08–1.65) were at a higher risk for physical discomforts. Nurses who were directly involved in the care of patients (i.e., care for severe patients: RR, 1.78;95% CI, 1.40–2.29), with irregular work schedules (RR, 3.39;95% CI, 2.43–4.73), and working overtime (RR, 1.51;95% CI, 1.12–2.04) were at a higher risk for emotional distress. Therefore, formulating reasonable work schedules and improving workforce systems are necessary to alleviate the physical and emotional distress of nurses during the pandemic.

Effects of landscape fragmentation of plantation forests on carbon storage in the Loess Plateau,China

In this paper,the bidirectional SK-Ramani equation is investigated by means of the extended homoclinic test approach and Riemann theta function method,*** on the Hirota bilinear method,exact solutions including one-soliton wave solution are obtained by using the extended homoclinic approach and one-periodic wave solution is constructed by using the Riemann theta function method.A limiting procedure is presented to analyze in detail the relations between the one periodic wave solution and one-soliton solution.

This paper studies the dynamic behaviors of some exact traveling wave solutions to the generalized Zakharov equation and the Ginzburg-Landau equation. The effects of the behaviors on the parameters of the systems are also studied by using a dynamical system method. Six exact explicit parametric representations of the traveling wave solutions to the two equations are given.

Magnetic,dielectric and electrical modulus of Ce^(3+) doped cobalt-magnesium ferrite nanoparticles

In this work,the magnetic,dielectric properties and electric modulus of Ce^(3+) substituted cobaltmagnesium(Co_(0.7)Mg_(0.3)Ce_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_4)(labeled as CMCF) ferrite nanoparticles were investigated in *** magnetization decreases from 50.05 to 34.87 emu/g for further substituting Ce^(3+) ***,coercivity increases from 738.22 Gs for the CMCFO sample to 912.10 Gs for the CMCF2 sample,then decreases monotonically to 762.1 Gs for the CMCF5 *** cerium content and particle size play important roles in controlling the magnetization and coercivity of the CMCF *** CMCF nanoferrites are suitable for microwave applications since their high-frequency response ranges from 7.72 to 11.07 *** CMCF nanoferrites' dielectric parameter dispersion exhibits normal *** pristine Co-Mg nanoferrite only has ε' value of 28.25,but the nanoferrite MCMF2 has ε' value of365.03,with an enhancing ratio of 1192%.The conduction mechanism of the MCMF nanoferrites was determined by fitting the σ_(ac) results via the Jonscher power *** 653 K,large polaron tunnelling is thought to be responsible for this conduction process,which is followed by electron barrier hopping at higher ***-Cole diagrams at different temperatures,assuring the contributions of the grains and their boundaries at lower temperatures(653 K) and only the grains at higher *** on our results,the CMCF nanoferrites hold magnetic and semiconducting nature,which can be used in magnetic devices and dielectrics in lower-frequencies or conductors in higher-frequencies.

Objective： The aim of this study was to explore the characteristics of and preventive management strategies for suicidal inpatients in a general ***： A total of 54 suicide victims were drawn from a patient safety adverse event network reporting system during hospitalization in a general hospital from November 2008 to January ***： Subjects who committed suicide in the general hospital were women and those who suffered from malignant neoplasms during general hospital treatment. Furthermore, most of the patients who committed suicide used more violent suicide methods. The most common and lethal means was jumping from heights at the ***： It is concluded that management straties for suicide prevention can be provided from the aspects of patients, medical staff and the hospital environment. It is not only urgent but also feasible to reduce the suicide rate of inpatients and further improve hospital safety management.
