Prediction of liquid circulation flow rate in RH degasser:improvement of decarburization at low atmospheric pressure

The two-fluid model coupled with population balance model was used for simulating the gas-liquid flow in the Ruhrstahl-Heraeus(RH)*** predicted circulation flow rate was compared with that measured from a water model experiment to validate the mathematical ***,influence of snorkel immersion depth on liquid circulation flow rate was numerically investigated under an atmospheric pressure of 101 and 84 kPa,*** result indicates that the circulation flow rate of the RH degasser in the high-altitude area was severely reduced because of the decrease in atmospheric ***,increasing the snorkel immersion depth from 0.5 to 0.7 m can compensate for the decrease in atmospheric *** test result indicates that decarburization rate is significantly enhanced by increasing the snorkel immersion *** optimization,the percentage of heats with a final carbon content less than 0.002 wt.%is significantly increased from 22.0%to 96.4%.

The application of Mg-based electrochemical energy storage materials in high performance supercapacitors is an essential step to promote the exploitation and utilization of magnesium resources in the field of energy ***,the inherent chemical properties of magnesium lead to poor cycling stability and electrochemical reactivity,which seriously limit the application of Mg-based materials in ***,in this review,more than 70 research papers published in recent 10 years were collected and *** representative research works were selected,and the results of various regulative strategies to improve the electrochemical performance of Mg-based materials were *** effects of various regulative strategies(such as constructing nanostructures,synthesizing composites,defect engineering,and binder-free synthesis,etc.)on the electrochemical performance and their mechanism are demonstrated using spinelstructured MgX_(2)O_(4) and layered structured Mg-X-LDHs as *** addition,the application of magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide in electrode materials,MXene's solid spacers and hard templates are ***,the challenges and outlooks of Mg-based electrochemical energy storage materials in high performance supercapacitors are also discussed.

This work proposed a strategy of indirectly inducing uniform microarc discharge by controlling the content and distribution ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase in AZ91D Mg *** kinds of nano-particles(ZrO_(2)and TiO_(2))were designed to be added into the substrate of Mg alloy by friction stir processing(FSP).Then,Mg alloy sample designed with different precipitated morphology ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase was treated by microarc oxidation(MAO)in Na_(3)PO_(4)/*** characteristics and performance of the MAO coating was analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),contact angle meter,and potentiodynamic *** was found that the coarseα-Mg grains in extruded AZ91D Mg alloy were refined by FSP,and theβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase with reticular structure was broken and *** nano-ZrO_(2)particles were pinned at the grain boundary by FSP,which refined theα-Mg grain and promoted the precipitation ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12)phase in *** effectively inhibited the“cascade”phenomenon of microarcs,which induced the uniform distribution of discharge *** MAO coating on Zr-FSP sample had good wettability and corrosion ***,TiO_(2)particles were hardly detected in the coating on TiFSP sample.

Viscosity and structure of CaO-BaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold slags for continuous casting of high titanium steel with different Tio2 absorption

The effect of TiO_(2) absorption into two different CaO-BaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-based mold slags from the steel plant on the viscosity,melting performance and microstructure of slags was investigated through the measurement of the viscosity-temperature relationship,melting temperature and Raman *** parameter of the number of non-bridging oxygen per tetrahedrally-coordinated atom(NBO/T)was also calculated to explain the microstructure variation of molten slags with different TiO_(2) *** variation of the actual slag consumption and the depth of the liquid slag in mold was explained through the comparison of the viscosity and the melting temperature of two different *** viscosity of mold slags(basicity=0.6)decreased from 1.1 to 0.68 Pa s with the increase in the Ti0_(2) absorption from 0 to 10%,while that of slags(basicity=0.7)decreased from 0.76 to 0.56 Pa s with the Ti0_(2) absorption from 0 to 6%.The activation energy of both two groups of slags had the tendency to decrease with the increasing TiO_(2) *** network structure of both two groups of slags measured by the Raman spectra showed that the fraction of complex structure units(Q^(1),Q^(2),Q^(3) and A1-O-Al)decreased and simple structure units(Al-O-and Q^(0))increased with the increase in TiO_(2) ***/T also increased with the increase in the TiO2 absorption,indicating that the absorption of TiO_(2) into slags resulted in the destruction of silicate/aluminate ***,the absorption of TiO_(2) into the current CaO-BaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3) mold slags decreased the degree of polymerization of these slags and then led to the decrease of viscosity.

Unveiling the rolling texture variations ofα-Mg phases in a dual-phase Mg-Li alloy

LZ91 Mg-Li alloy plates with three types of initial texture were rolled by 70%reduction at both room temperature and 200℃to explore the rolling texture formation ofα-Mg *** results showed that the rolling texture is largely affected by the initial *** the samples exhibited two main texture components as RD-split double peaks texture and TD-split double peaks texture after large strain *** intensity of the two texture components was strongly influenced by the initial orientation and rolling *** twinning altered the large-split non-basal orientation to a near basal one at low rolling *** basal orientation induced by twinning is unstable,which finally transmitted to the RD-split *** strong TD-split texture formed due to slip-induced orientation transition from its initial *** competition between prismatic and basal slip determined the intensity and tilt angle of the TD-split *** increasing the rolling temperature,the TD-split texture component was enhanced in all three *** of extension twinning behavior and the promotion of prismatic slip at elevated temperature are the main reasons for the difference in hot and cold rolling texture.

Interfacial Reaction of Ti6Al4V Lattice Structure-Reinforced VW92 Alloy Matrix Composites

A novel melting infiltration by ultrasonic vibration was investigated and applied to fabricate Ti6Al4V(TC4)lattice structure-reinforced Mg-10Gd-2Y-1Zn-xZr(refer to VW92 hereafter,x=0,0.5 wt%)alloy matrix *** edge-to-edge matching model indicates that the well-matching and possible orientation relationships(ORs)between theα-Mg andα-Ti,[10-10]_(α-Mg)//[11-23]_(α-Ti) in(0002)_(α-Mg)//(10-10)_(α-Ti) possesses the smallest misfit of 0.4%(f_(r)),and thus theα-Mg grains can nucleate on the TC4 lattice *** reaction occurred in the TC4/VW92+0.5 wt%Zr composites,and the reaction product was confirmed to be Al_(2)Zr_(3),AlZr_(2) andα-Ti(Zr)particles formed by continuous solution of *** the interfacial products,the AlZr_(2) phase is a brittle phase with high-volume fraction,which is not conducive to the load *** generally speaking,theα-Ti(Zr)and theα-Mg tend to form a coherent interface,which is beneficial for improving the interfacial bonding strength of composites.

The development of redox bifunctional electrocatalysts with high performance,low cost,and long lifetimes is essential for achieving clean energy *** study proposed an atom capture strategy for anchoring dual single atoms（DSAs） in a zinc-zeolitic imidazolate framework（Zn-ZIF）,followed by calcination under an N2atmosphere to synthesize ruthenium-platinum DSAs supported on a nitrogendoped carbon substrate（RuPt DSAs-NC）.Theoretical calculations showed that the degree of Ru 5dxz-*O 2pxorbital hybridization was high when*O was adsorbed at the Ru site,indicating enhanced covalent hybridization of metal sites and oxygen ligands,which benefited the adsorption of intermediate *** presence of the RuPtN6active center optimized the absorption-desorption behavior of intermediates,improving the electrocatalytic performance of the oxygen reduction reaction（ORR） and the oxygen evolution reaction（DER）,RuPt DSAs-NC exhibited a 0.87 V high half-wave potential and a 268 mV low overpotential at 10 mA cm-2in an alkaline ***,rechargeable zinc-air batteries（ZABs）achieved a peak power density of 171 MW *** RuPt DSAs-NC demonstrated long-term cycling for up to 500 h with superior round-trip *** study provided an effective structural design strategy to construct DSAs active sites for enhanced electrocata lytic performance.

As-extruded Mg-Er-Ni alloys with different volume fractions of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase and density of lamellar γ' phase were prepared,and the microstructure,mechanical,and degradation properties were *** the bulk LPSO phase and the lamellar γ' phase,and controlling the dynamic recrystallization processes during deformation by adjusting the volume fraction of LPSO and the density of the γ' phase,a synergistic increase in strength and degradation rate can be *** the one hand,the increase in corrosion rate was related to the increased volume fraction of the bulk LPSO phase and the densities of the lamellar γ' phase,which provide more galvanic ***,high densities of the lamellar γ' phase can provide more corrosion interface by inhibiting the recrystallization process to refine dynamic recrystallized(DRXed)grains during the hot *** the other hand,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and tensile yield strength(TYS)of the Mg-Er-Ni alloy increased from 345 and 265 MPa to 514 MPa and 358 MPa,respectively,which was mainly attributed to grain boundary and texture strengthening,bulk LPSO phase and lamellar γ' phase ***,Mg^(-1)4Er-4Ni alloy,which contains the highest volume fraction bulk LPSO phase and the densities of lamellar γ' phase,re-alized a synergistic enhancement of strength and degradation *** UTS,TYS,and degradation rate of Mg^(-1)4Er-4Ni were 514 MPa,358 MPa,and 142.5 mg cm^(-2)h^(-1)(3 wt%KCl solution at 93◦C),*** research provides new insight into developing Mg alloys with high strength and degradation rates for fracturing tool materials in the application of oil and gas exploitation in harsh environments.

Irregular initial solidification by mold thermal monitoring in the continuous casting of steels:A review

Occasional irregular initial solidification phenomena,including stickers,deep oscillation marks,depressions,and surface cracks of strand shells in continuous casting molds,are important limitations for developing the high-efficiency continuous casting of *** application of mold thermal monitoring(MTM) systems,which use thermocouples to detect and respond to temperature variations in molds,has become an effective method to address irregular initial solidification *** systems are widely applied in numerous steel companies for sticker breakout ***,monitoring the surface defects of strands remains ***,indepth research is necessary to utilize the potential advantages and comprehensive monitoring of MTM *** paper summarizes what is included in the irregular initial solidification phenomena and systematically reviews the current state of research on these phenomena by the MTM ***,the influences of mold slag behavior on monitoring these phenomena are ***,the remaining problems of the formation mechanisms and investigations of irregular initial solidification phenomena are discussed,and future research directions are proposed.
