The photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)into solar‐powered fuels is viewed as a forward‐looking strategy to address energy scarcity and global warming.This work demonstrated the selective photoreduction of CO_(2)to CO using ultrathin Bi_(12)O_(17)Cl_(2)nanosheets decorated with hydrothermally synthesized bismuth clusters and oxygen vacancies(OVs).The characterizations revealed that the coexistences of OVs and Bi clusters generated in situ contributed to the high efficiency of CO_(2)–CO conversion(64.3μmol g^(−1)h^(−1))and perfect selectivity.The OVs on the facet(001)of the ultrathin Bi_(12)O_(17)Cl_(2)nanosheets serve as sites for CO_(2)adsorption and activation sites,capturing photoexcited electrons and prolonging light absorption due to defect states.In addition,the Bi‐cluster generated in situ offers the ability to trap holes and the surface plasmonic resonance effect.This study offers great potential for the construction of semiconductor hybrids as multiphotocatalysts,capable of being used for the elimination and conversion of CO_(2)in terms of energy and environment.

Electroactive anticorrosion coatings are specialized surface treatments that prevent or minimize corrosion. Thestudy employs strategic thermodynamic equilibriumcalculations to pioneer a novel factor in corrosion protection.A first-time proposal, the total acidity (TA) potential of the hydrogen (pH) concept significantly shapes medicalmagnesium alloys. These coatings are meticulously designed for robust corrosion resistance, blending theoreticalinsights and practical applications to enhance our grasp of corrosion prevention mechanisms and establisha systematic approach to coating design. The groundbreaking significance of this study lies in its innovativeintegration of the TA/pH concept,which encompasses the TA/pH ratio of the chemical environment. This approachsurpasses convention by acknowledging the intricate interplay between the acidity and pH levels within thecoating formulation, thereby optimizing metal-phosphate-based conversion coatings and transforming corrosionmitigation strategies. To authenticate the TA/pH concept, the study comprehensively compares its findings withexisting research, rigorously validating the theoretical framework and reinforcing the correlates among TA/pHvalues and observed corrosion resistance in the coatings. The influence of mutations that occur naturally inthe detergent solution on persistent phosphorus changes is shown by empirical confirmation, which improvescorrosion resistance. This realization advances the field ofmaterials and the field’s knowledge of coated generation,particularly anticorrosion converter layers.

Recently,the newly synthesized septuple-atomic layer two-dimensional(2D)material MoSi_(2)N_(4)(MSN)has attracted attention worldwide.Our work delves into the effect of vacancies and external electric fields on the electronic properties of the MSN/graphene(Gr)heterostructure using first-principles calculation.We find that four types of defective structures,N-in,N-out,Si and Mo vacancy defects of monolayer MSN and MSN/Gr heterostructure are stable in air.Moreover,vacancy defects can effectively modulate the charge transfer at the interface of the MSN/Gr heterostructure as well as the work function of the pristine monolayer MSN and MSN/Gr heterostructure.Finally,the application of an external electric field enables the dynamic switching between n-type and p-type Schottky contacts.Our work may offer the possibility of exceeding the capabilities of conventional Schottky diodes based on MSN/Gr heterostructures.

In this work,poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)ultrathin films(P3HT-T)were prepared by spin-coating a dilute P3HT solution(in a toluene:o-dichlorobenzene(Tol:ODCB)blend with a volume ratio of 80:20)with ultrasonication and the addition of the nucleating agent bicycle[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid disodium salt(HPN-68L)on glass,Si wafers and indium tin oxide(ITO)substrates.The electrical and mechanical properties of the P3HT-T ultrathin films were investigated,and it was found that the conductivity and crack onset strain(COS)were simultaneously improved in comparison with those of the corresponding pristine P3HT film(P3HT-0,without ultrasonication and nucleating agent)on the same substrate,regardless of what substrate was used.Moreover,the conductivity of P3HT-T ultrathin films on different substrates was similar(varying from 3.7 S·cm^(-1)to 4.4 S·cm^(-1)),yet the COS increased from 97%to 138%by varying the substrate from a Si wafer to ITO.Combining grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray diffraction(GIXRD),UV-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy(AFM),we found that the solid order and crystallinity of the P3HT-T ultrathin film on the Si wafer are highest,followed by those on glass,and much lower on ITO.Finally,the surface energy and roughness of three substrates were investigated,and it was found that the polar component of the surface energyγp plays a critical role in determining the crystalline microstructures of P3HT ultrathin films on different substrates.Our work indicates that the P3HT ultrathin film can obviously improve the stretchability and simultaneously retain similar electrical performance when a suitable substrate is chosen.These findings offer a new direction for research on stretchable CP ultrathin films to facilitate future practical applications.

Effect of Fly Ash on TSA Resistance of Cement-based Material

Thaumasite form of sulfate attack（TSA）is a major concern in evaluating durability of concrete structures subjected to sulfate and carbonate ions.By means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,and energy dispersive spectrum（EDS） as well as Raman spectra of erosion substances,effect of fly ash on TSA resistance of Portland cement-based material were investigated.Immersed in magnesium sulfate solution with 33 800 ppm mass concentration of SO 4 2-at 5±2℃for 15 weeks,ratio of compressive strength loss decreased as binder replacement ratio of fly ash increased.Furthermore,when binder replacement of fly ash was 60%,compressive strength increased.When thaumasite came into being in samples with 0,15%binder replacement ratio of fly ash,ettringite and gypsum appeared in those with 30%,45%,60%binder replacement ratio of fly ash.Results mentioned above showed that fly ash can restrain formation of thaumasite and improve TSA resistance of Portland cement-based material sufficiently.

The topic of high-entropy alloys is one of the focus for both physics and materials research.High-entropy alloys were usually defined as solid solution alloys,while the solid solution is different from the traditional terminal solid solution,because the solid solution without solvent element is the dominant one.The discovery of high-entropy alloys greatly extended the composition space and the possibility of creating unique micro-and nano-level structures,which can meet the demands of lightweight and dynamic applications.The relationship between the phases and the parameters for the high-entropy alloys is rather complex.The data driving design can screen the specific high-entropy alloys.The correlation between the composition and properties of highentropy alloys can be discovered by material genetic engineering and data science.

Bioderived carbon materials have garnered considerable interest in the fields of microwave absorption and shielding due to their reproducibility and environmental friendliness.In this study,KOH was evenly distributed on biomass Tremella using the swelling induction method,leading to the preparation of a three-dimensional network-structured hierarchical porous carbon(HPC)through carbonization.The achieved microwave absorption intensity is robust at-47.34 dB with a thin thickness of 2.1 mm.Notably,the widest effective absorption bandwidth,reaching 7.0 GHz(11–18 GHz),is attained at a matching thickness of 2.2 mm.The exceptional broadband and reflection loss performance are attributed to the 3D porous networks,interface effects,carbon network defects,and dipole relaxation.HPC has outstanding absorption characteristics due to its excellent impedance matching and high attenuation constant.The uniform pore structures considerably optimize the impedance-matching performance of the material,while the abundance of interfaces and defects enhances the dielectric loss,thereby improving the attenuation constant.Furthermore,the impact of carbonization temperature and swelling rate on microwave absorption performance was systematically investigated.This research presents a strategy for preparing absorbing materials using biomass-derived HPC,showcasing considerable potential in the field of electromagnetic wave absorption.

To enhance the mechanical properties of polypropylene random copolymer(PPR),polystyrene(PS)with four different contents were added to the PPR matrix through melt blending.Subsequently,using the Multi-Flow Vibration Injection Molding(MFVIM)technology,PPR/PS in situ microfiber composites(MFC)with different blending ratios were prepared.The results indicated that blending ratio had a great impact on the phase morphology and crystal structure of MFVIM samples,which was different from those of conventional injection molding(CIM)samples.PS ultrafine fibers could be formed under the shear field and could absorb the PPR molecular chains to form hybrid shish-kebab structures.Meanwhile,the PPR matrix could also form shish-kebab structures under the effect of strong shear.When the PS content reached 20%,under the combined action of PS in situ microfibers and highly oriented crystal structure,the tensile strength and Young’s modulus of the sample were obviously improved and the impact strength remained at a relatively high level.So a strong and tough balanced PPR based material was obtained.These results provide valuable insights for expanding the industrial and daily-life applications of PPR and show promising development prospects.

Magnesium-based hydrogen storage materials represent a hydrogen storage technology with broad application prospects. As the global energy crisis and environmental pollution issues become increasingly severe, hydrogen,as a clean and efficient energy source, has garnered growing attention. Magnesium-based hydrogen storage,serving as a crucial means for storing and transporting hydrogen, is gaining prominence due to its abundant resources, low cost, low density, and high hydrogen storage density. However, challenges in terms of absorption/desorption rates, temperature, activation energy, and enthalpy during hydrogen application impede its development. To address these challenges, this paper systematically reviews current research on magnesium-based hydrogen storage materials, encompasses their types, characteristics, and hydrogen absorption mechanisms.Furthermore, it delves into the impacts of nanoscale dimensions, alloying, doping, and catalysis on the performance of magnesium-based materials. The aim is to provide valuable insights for research in related fields.

The use of fillers to enhance the corrosion protection of epoxy resins has been widely applied.In this work,cerium dioxide(CeO_(2))and benzotriazole(BTA)were introduced into an epoxy resin to enhance the corrosion resistance of Q235 carbon steel.Scanning electron microscopy results indicated that the CeO_(2) grains were rod-like and ellipsoidal in shape,and the distribution pattern of BTA was analyzed by energy dispersive spectroscope.The dynamic potential polarization curve proved the excellent corrosion resistance of the composite epoxy resin with CeO_(2) and BTA co-addition,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy test analysis indicated the significantly enhanced long-term corrosion protection performance of the composite coating.And the optimal protective performance was provided by the coating containing 0.3%(mass)CeO_(2) and 20%(mass)BTA,which was attributed to the barrier performance of CeO_(2) particles and the chemical barrier effect of BTA.The formation of corrosion products was analyzed using X-ray diffraction.In addition,the corrosion resistance mechanism of the coating was also discussed in detail.
