A Transformer-Based Ensemble Framework for the Prediction of Protein-Protein Interaction Sites

The identification of protein-protein interaction (PPI) sites is essential in the research of protein function and the discovery of new drugs. So far, a variety of computational tools based on machine learning have been developed to accelerate the identification of PPI sites. However, existing methods suffer from the low predictive accuracy or the limited scope of application. Specifically, some methods learned only global or local sequential features, leading to low predictive accuracy, while others achieved improved performance by extracting residue interactions from structures but were limited in their application scope for the serious dependence on precise structure information. There is an urgent need to develop a method that integrates comprehensive information to realize proteome-wide accurate profiling of PPI sites. Herein, a novel ensemble framework for PPI sites prediction, EnsemPPIS, was therefore proposed based on transformer and gated convolutional networks. EnsemPPIS can effectively capture not only global and local patterns but also residue interactions. Specifically, EnsemPPIS was unique in (a) extracting residue interactions from protein sequences with transformer and (b) further integrating global and local sequential features with the ensemble learning strategy. Compared with various existing methods, EnsemPPIS exhibited either superior performance or broader applicability on multiple PPI sites prediction tasks. Moreover, pattern analysis based on the interpretability of EnsemPPIS demonstrated that EnsemPPIS was fully capable of learning residue interactions within the local structure of PPI sites using only sequence information. Superlattice Patterns in Coupled Turing Systems

In this paper, superlattice patterns have been investigated by using a two linearly coupled Brusselator model. It is found that superlattice patterns can only be induced in the sub-system with the short wavelength. Three different coupling methods have been used in order to investigate the mode interaction between the two Turing modes. It is proved in the simulations that interaction between activators in the two sub-systems leads to spontaneous formation of black eye pattern and/or white eye patterns while interaction between inhibitors leads to spontaneous formation of super-hexagonal pattern. It is also demonstrated that the same symmetries of the two modes and suitable wavelength ratio of the two modes should also be satisfied to form superlattice patterns.

A Wide-Spaced Dual-Band Metamaterial Absorber Based on 2.5D Frequency Selective Surfaces and Magnetic Material

By applying meander-line for electrical loss and magnetic material for magnetic loss,we present a metamaterial absorber which is wide-spaced and dual-band(1.35—2.24 GHz and 10.37—12.37 GHz).The novelty of this study mainly lies in a combination of two kinds of losses to consume electromagnetic energy,which can get better dual-band *** the electrical loss layer,meander-line structures are printed on both surfaces of the substrate and the structure series with *** the need for miniaturization,we connect eight metallic vias with these meander-line areas to form a compact 2.5-dimensional(2.5D)*** dimension of the unit cell is miniaturized to be 5.94 mm×5.94 mm,about 0.035λat the center frequency of the lower absorption *** the magnetic loss layer,the 0.4 mm thick magnetic material is employed on a metallic ground *** addition,the complex permittivity and complex permeability of the magnetic material are ***,we fabricate a prototype of the proposed absorber and obtain a measurement result which is in good agreement with the full-wave simulation result.

In the fifth-generation new radio(5G-NR) high-speed railway(HSR) downlink,a deep learning(DL) based Doppler frequency offset(DFO) estimation scheme is proposed by using the back propagation neural network(BPNN).The proposed method mainly includes pre-training,training,and estimation phases,where the pre-training and training belong to the off-line stage,and the estimation is the online *** reduce the performance loss caused by the random initialization,the pre-training method is employed to acquire a desirable initialization,which is used as the initial parameters of the training ***,the initial DFO estimation is used as input along with the received pilots to further improve the estimation *** from the training phase,the initial DFO estimation in pre-training phase is obtained by the data and pilot *** results show that the mean squared error(MSE) performance of the proposed method is better than those of the available algorithms,and it has acceptable computational complexity.

Properties of polaron in a triangular quantum well induced by the Rashba effect

The properties of the weakly-coupling bound polaron, considering an influence of Rashba effect, which is brought about by the spin-orbit （SO） interaction, in an semiconductor triangular quantum well （TQW）, have been studied by using the linear combination operator and the unitary transformation methods. We obtain an expression for the ground state energy of the weak-coupling and bound polaron in a TQW as a function of the coupling constant, Coulomb bound potential, and the electron areal density. Our numerical resuks show that the ground state energy of the polaron is composed of four parts, one part is caused by the electrons＇ own energy, the second part is caused by the Rashba effect, the third part occurs because of the Coulomb bound potential, and the last term is induced by the interaction between the electrons and LO phonons. The interactions between the orbit and the spin with different directions have different effects on the ground state energy of the polaron.

Electro-Hydraulic Servo Control System Based on a Novel Generic Model Control Method

A novel electro-hydraulic servo control algorithm was introduced. The primary idea of this algorithm was to combine the notion of model prediction with the generic model control （GMC）. The performance of the GMC al- gorithm was improved by receding optimization and feedback correction. By the predictive model of output errors of an electro-hydraulic servo control system based on the improved weighted least square support vector machines （WLS-SVM） to forecast and compensate the future sequence errors, the control precision and robustness were im- proved. The improved GMC based on the improved WLS-SVM was applied to an electro-hydraulic servo control sys- tem for hot strip rolling control systems. The simulation results showed the feasibility and effectiveness of the pres- ent algorithm.
