Conditionals are often divided into two categories: real conditional and unreal conditional. This paper will only discuss the former. As for the latter, it has been explained comparative exhaustively both in traditional grammar and contemporary grammar. In fact, real conditional is much more difficult than it is thought, because people have not described it as exhaustively as unreal conditional.

This paper attempts to focus on Jorge Luis Borges’ short story The Gospel according To Mark. Borges, an Argentina short storywriter and translator, whose motherland is under long-term western colonization, identifi es himself unconsciously with the western culture. Hisworks mostly touch upon the themes of religion and philosophy. Along with post-colonialism theory’s springing up, critics began to analyze hisworks from the post-colonial perspective. The author thinks that this short story with religious implication parallels to the cultural invasion in theperiod of colonization, from powerful culture to weaker one. The author, thus, aims to use Michael Foucault’s viewpoints concerning power andknowledge to probe into the western cultural hegemony and ideological invasion refl ected in this story. Besides, the loss and construction of theethnic identity of the colonized will be discussed in details.

1. Background The product approach which was the dominant approach since the 1970semphasizes the learning outcomes mainly, considering the learning output asthe result of the imitation of input in the form of texts provided by teacher *** ignores the actual processes used by the students. So in the mid-1970s theprocess approach became to replace the product approach. The process ap-proach sees language learning more form a cognitive perspective which focuseson the mental process of learning, regardless the linguistic knowledge such asthe grammar and text structure, as well as the culture context. According toBurns(2000), the process approach'has emphasised inquiry learning, processand naturalism but has neglected to offer learners systematic explanations ofhow language functions in various social context'(Burns, 2000, P.200). Hy-land (2002) argues that process approach 'lack of engagement with the so-cial-political realities of students'everyday lives and target situations'(p. 20).So there appears a new approach called genre-based approach which beginsto attract great attention in language teaching and learning in the *** approach is originated from a systemic functional theory of language(SFL) developed by Halliday(1978, 1994). Martin described genre as'staged,goal-orientated social activity in which speakers engage as members of ourculture'(Martine et al.1987). Elaborated by Martin and Christie that'thegenre model emphasizes the ways how language is systematically construct inspecific context through patterns of lexico-grammatical and rhetorical fea-tures'( Martin & Christie, 1997; cited in Hyland, 2003 ). Genre approach wasalso influenced by two schools of genre theory: the New Rhetorical approachwhich studies genre as 'motivated, functional relationship between text typeand rhetorical situation'(Coe, 2002, p.195) and the English for special pur-poses (ESP) approach which sees genre as a label of groups of communicativeevents that share some common

The population migration in Hubei Province was frequent in history,accompanied by the migration of surnames,so it is important to study their population *** take Xiantao City as an example to explore the isonymic structure of small and medium-sized cities in *** surname distributions of 223327 residents registered in 2013 were analyzed in 5 towns and 105 villages of *** number of different surnames found was *** for surnames,theα-value reflects the influence of ethnic composition on the abundance of *** correlation between the isonymic distance and the geographic distance between villages was calculated and indicated that Euclidean distance was weakly correlated with the geographic distance(r=0.177±0.012),and the isonymic distance increased with the geographical ***,the dendrogram and PCA built from the matrix of Euclidean distances between villages identified a main surname differentiation between the urban and rural areas.
