A general theoretical model is developed to investigate the sound radiation from an infinite orthogonally stiffened plate under point excitation force. The plate can be metallic or composite, and fluid loading is also considered in the research. The first order shear deformation theory is used to account for the transverse shear deformation. The motion of the equally spaced stiffeners is examined by considering their bending vibrations and torsional movements. Based on the periodic structure theory and the concepts of the equivalent dynamic flexibility of the plate, the generalized vibro-acoustic equation of the model is obtained by applying the Fourier transform method. The generalized model that can be solved numerically is validated by comparing model predictions with the existing results. Numerical calculations are performed to investigate the effects of the location of the excitation, the spacing of the stiffeners, the plate thickness, the strengthening form and the fiber orientation on the sound radiation characteristic of the orthogonaUy stiffened plate, and some practical conclusions are drawn from these parameter studies.

We present a ring-opening polymerization of bridged cyclic lactone utilizing alcohol as the initiator and organic base as the catalyst.Bridged γ-butyrolactone monomers(PhSGBL and PhSeGBL)were synthesized efficiently from commercially available 3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic acid.Due to the ring strain of the bridged structure,ring-opening polymerization of this type of γ-butyrolactone derivative was successfully carried out under mild conditions,e.g.,using ethylene glycol as the initiator and a commercial catalyst[1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0 dec-5-ene(TBD)]]as the catalyst at 30℃.The obtained polymer could be degraded to its monomer for recycling in the presence of ZnCl_(2) as a catalyst.PhSGBL and PhSeGBL could also be copolymerized with ε-caprolactone to tune the glass transition temperature.Additionally,the hydrophilicity of the obtained sulfur-containing polymers could be adjusted by selectively oxidizing the thioether side group to sulfone/sulfoxide,which offered a way to tune the hydrophilicity of polyester.On the other hand,the obtained selenium-containing compound could be degraded in the presence of m-CPBA(3-chloroperbenzoic acid),which offered potential application in sustained drug release.

LiFePO4@multiwalled carbon nanotubes(LFP@MWCNTs) nanocomposite has been fabricated using risedronic acid(RDA) as a new eco-friendly phosphorus source. Microscopic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical characterization demonstrate that the MWCNTs are in the form of coiled and cross-linking nanoribbon, which wrapped and encrusted around LiFePO4particles to form a three-dimensional(3D) nano-network composite.This microstructure of 3D nano-network is obtained due to the reactions between RDA’s special functional groups with Fe2+and C-OH,-C=O or-COOH on the surface of the functionalized MWCNTs. The results also show that the particle size of the fabricated LiFePO4@MWCNTs composite is below 300 nm with the pure crystal of olivine. This nanocomposite indicates an enhanced reversible capacity of 162.2 mAh g-1at 0.2C, and high capacity retention of 76.5% even at 10C after the 800 th cycles. The electric conductivity and Li+diffusion coefficient(DLi+) of the LiFePO4@MWCNTs are 3.79 × 10-2S cm-1and 4.46 × 10-11cm2s-1, respectively.These improved electrochemical parameters can be attributed to the nano-sized effect of particles, MWCNTs’ wrapping effect and 3D nano-network microstructure of the LFP@MWCNTs resulted from using RDA as a new phosphorus source.

Users, especially the non-expert users, commonly experience problems when connecting multiple devices with interoperability. While studies on multiple device connections are mostly concentrated on spontaneous device association techniques with a focus on security aspects, the research on user interaction for device connection is still limited. More research into understanding people is needed for designers to devise usable techniques. This research applies the Research-through-design method and studies the non-expert users＇ interactions in establishing wireless connections between devices. The ＂Learning from Examples＂ concept is adopted to develop a study focus line by learning from the expert users＇ interaction with devices. This focus line is then used for guiding researchers to explore the non-expert users＇ difficulties at each stage of the focus line. Finally, the Research-through-design approach is used to understand the users＇ difficulties, gain insights to design problems and suggest usable solutions. When connecting a device, the user is required to manage not only the device＇s functionality but also the interaction between devices. Based on learning from failures, an important insight is found that the existing design approach to improve single-device interaction issues, such as improvements to graphical user interfaces or computer guidance, cannot help users to handle problems between multiple devices. This study finally proposes a desirable user-device interaction in which images of two devices function together with a system image to provide the user with feedback on the status of the connection, which allows them to infer any required actions.

Cobalt sulphides attract much attention as anode materials for Li-ion batteries(LIBs).However,its poor conductivity,low initial column efficiency and large volume changes during cycling have hindered its further development.Herein,novel interlaced CoS nanosheets were firstly prepared on Carbon Fiber Cloth(CFC)by two hydrothermal reactions followed with carbon coating via carbonizing dopamine(CoS NS@C/CFC).As a freestanding anode,the nanosheet structure of CoS not only accommodates the volume variation,but also provides a large interface area to proceed the charge transfer reaction.In addition,CFC works as both a three-dimensional skeleton and an active substance which can further improve the areal capacity of the resulting electrode.Furthermore,the coated carbon combined with the CFC work as a 3D conductive network to facilitate the electron conduction.The obtained CoS NS@C/CFC,and the contrast sample prepared with the same procedure but without carbon coating(CoS NS/CFC),are characterized with XRD,SEM,TEM,XPS and electrochemical measurements.The results show that the CoS NS@C/CFC possesses much improved electrochemical performance due to the synergistic effect of nanosheet CoS,the coated carbon and the CFC substrate,exhibiting high initial columbic efficiency(~87%),high areal capacity(2.5 at 0.15 mA cm−2),excellent rate performance(1.6 at 2.73 mA cm−2)and improved cycle stability(87.5%capacity retention after 300 cycles).This work may provide a new route to explore freestanding anodes with high areal specific capacity for LIBs.

Developing a new type of photocatalyst(PC) and catalytic mechanism for near-infrared(NIR) photocontrolled reversibledeactivation radical polymerization(RDRP) system is charming but challenging.Herein,a novel PC of the persistent radical anion(PRA)(possessing the properties of both radical and anion) was developed for NIR photocontrolled reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer(RAFT) polymerization,enabling successful polymerization while gaining a deep insight into the mechanism of photo-induced electron transfer RAFT(PET-RAFT) polymerization.Different from the conventional and wellaccepted reductive quenching(RQ) pathway,in which the radical anion intermediates of PCs(PCs^(·-)) must be generated in an excited state(ES),here,the PRA(3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride radical anion(PTCDA^(·-))) could generate conveniently in situ in the ground state(GS) and subsequently serve as highly efficient PC in the NIR region(740–850 nm).The successful implementation of this strategy elucidates the peculiar role played by light and the real way of electron transfer behaviors.In fact,the transfer of a single electron from PRA to chain transfer agent(CTA) and cleavage of the C–S bonds is a process from ES to GS,rather than always from GS(PCs^(·-)) to GS(CTA) in the RQ pathway as is well known to all.In addition,the excellent spatial-temporal control and powerful penetration ability of the NIR light were also confirmed by this PRAcatalyzed polymerization system.

为探索加载路径的影响规律,基于Mises屈服条件和等向线性硬化假设,建立了轴向力和扭矩联合作用下不可压缩薄壁圆管的弹塑性分析模型,根据终点应力的特点划分了4个(σx,τx)应力区域,推导了不同应力区域中12条应力路径的塑性应力-应变关系,证明了应力路径对塑性应变影响的"首因效应",即:无论终点应力处于何处,首先作用的应力产生的塑性变形总是更大。基于经典弹塑性理论分析了应变路径的影响,发现了应变路径对应力结果影响的"近因效应",即:后加载的应变在最终的应力状态中产生的影响更大。从变形的角度,应力路径对塑性应变影响的"首因效应"和应变路径对应力结果影响的"近因效应"是统一的。该效应兼具简洁性与普适性,对于学习理解不同加载路径下的塑性应力-应变关系大有裨益,对于优化加工工艺和施工工序也具有一定的指导作用。

目的:自由面流动中的大变形、复杂几何边界等问题一直备受工程界的关注。本文基于拉格朗日观点,采用移动最小二乘的无网格技术数值模拟流场,研究溃坝流、孤立波传播及液舱晃荡等复杂变形的自由面流动,验证该方法的准确性与可靠性。创新点:1.通过不可压缩Navier–Stokes方程,采用投影法推导出压力与速度之间的关系;2.借助移动最小二乘法的思想,对压力泊松方程进行离散求解。方法:1.通过理论推导,得出不可压缩流动中压力与速度之间的泊松方程式,并采用移动最小二乘法离散求解该偏微分方程;2.采用数值计算,对自由面流动问题中的三个典型算例进行模拟;3.将数值计算结果与文献中的试验结果进行比较。结论:1.基于移动最小二乘的无网格法能够较准确地模拟自由面流动中的液体迸溅、翻滚、破碎以及入水等强非线性现象,在处理大变形流动问题时体现出较好的灵活性及较强的自由面模拟能力;2.对比分析数值计算结果与试验现象,得到一致性较好的结果,验证了该无网格法的准确性与可靠性。
