In order to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the battery surface and meet the demand for thermal storage technology,battery thermal management system based on phase change materials has attracted increasing interest.In this work,a kind of core-shell structured microcapsule was synthesized by an in-situ polymerization,where paraffin was used as the core,while methanol was applied to mod-ify the melamine-formaldehyde shell to reduce toxicity and improve thermal stability.Moreover,three different types of heat conductive fillers with the same content of 10 wt.%,i.e.,nano-Al_(2)O_(3),nano-ZnO and carbon nanotubes were added,generating composites.The microcapsules were uniform,and were not affected by the thermal fillers,which were evenly dispersed around.The composite sample with carbon nanotubes(10 wt.%)showed the highest thermal conductivity of 0.50 W/(m K)and latent heat of 139.64 J/g.Furthermore,according to the leakage testing and battery charge/discharge experiments,compared with Al_(2)O_(3)and ZnO,the addition of carbon nanotubes remarkably enhances the heat storage ability as latent heat from 126.98 J/g for the prepared sample with Al_(2)O_(3)and 125.86 J/g for the one with ZnO,then to 139.64 J/g,as well as dissipation performance as a cooling effect by decreasing the sur-face temperature of battery from 2%to 12%of microcapsule,composite sample with carbon nanotubes presents a broad application prospect in battery thermal management system and energy storage field.

Among over 170 different types of chemical modifications on RNA nucleobases identified so far,RNA methylation is the major type of epitranscriptomic modifications existing on almost all types of RNAs,and has been demonstrated to participate in the entire process of RNA metabolism,including transcription,pre-mRNA alternative splicing and maturation,mRNA nucleus export,mRNA degradation and stabilization,mRNA translation.Attributing to the development of high-throughput detection technologies and the identification of both dynamic regulators and recognition proteins,mechanisms of RNA methylation modification in regulating the normal development of the organism as well as various disease occurrence and developmental abnormalities upon RNA methylation dysregulation have become increasingly clear.Here,we particularly focus on three types of RNA methylations:N6-methylcytosine （m6A）,5-methylcytosine （m5C）,and N7-methyladenosine （m7G）.We summarize the elements related to their dynamic installment and removal,specific binding proteins,and the development of high-throughput detection technologies.Then,for a comprehensive understanding of their biological significance,we also overview the latest knowledge on the underlying mechanisms and key roles of these three mRNA methylation modifications in gametogenesis,embryonic development,immune system development,as well as disease and tumor progression.

Hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF-1α),a core transcription factor responding to changes in cellular oxygen levels,is closely associated with a wide range of physiological and pathological conditions.However,its differential impacts on vascular cell types and molecular programs modulating human vascular homeostasis and regeneration remain largely elusive.Here,we applied CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing of human embryonic stem cells and directed differentiation to generate HIF-ia-deficient human vascular cells including vascular endothelial cells,vascular smooth muscle cells,and mesenchymal stem cells(MsCs),as a platform for discovering cell type-specific hypox-ia-induced response mechanisms.Through comparative molecular profiling across cell types under normoxic and hypoxic conditions,we provide insight into the indispensable role of HIF-1αin the promotion of ischemic vascular regeneration.We found human MSCs to be the vascular cell type most susceptible to HIF-1a deficiency,and that transcriptional inactivation of ANKZF1,an effector of HIF-1a,impaired pro-angiogenic processes.Altogether,our findings deepen the understanding of HIF-ia in human angiogenesis and support further explorations of novel therapeutic strategies of vascular regeneration against ischemic damage.

The Resource for Coronavirus 2019(RCoV19)is an open-access information resource dedicated to providing valuable data on the genomes,mutations,and variants of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).In this updated implementation of RCoV19,we have made significant improvements and advancements over the previous version.Firstly,we have implemented a highly refined genome data curation model.This model now features an automated integration pipeline and optimized curation rules,enabling efficient daily updates of data in RCoV19.Secondly,we have developed a global and regional lineage evolution monitoring platform,alongside an outbreak risk pre-warning system.These additions provide a comprehensive understanding of SARS-CoV-2 evolution and transmission patterns,enabling better preparedness and response strategies.Thirdly,we have developed a powerful interactive mutation spectrum comparison module.This module allows users to compare and analyze mutation patterns,assisting in the detection of potential new lineages.Furthermore,we have incorporated a comprehensive knowledgebase on mutation effects.This knowledgebase serves as a valuable resource for retrieving information on the functional implications of specific mutations.In summary,RCoV19 serves as a vital scientific resource,providing access to valuable data,relevant information,and technical support in the global fight against COVID-19.The complete contents of RCoV19 are available to the public at https://***/ncov/.

The ovary is indispensable for female reproduction,and its age-dependent functional decline is the primary cause of infertility.However,the molecular basis of ovarian aging in higher vertebrates remains poorly understood.Herein,we apply spatiotemporal transcriptomics to benchmark architecture organization as well as cellular and molecular determinants in young primate ovaries and compare these to aged primate ovaries.From a global view,somatic cells within the non-follicle region undergo more pronounced transcriptional fluctuation relative to those in the follicle region,likely constituting a hostile microenvironment that facilitates ovarian aging.Further,we uncovered that inflammation,the senescent-associated secretory phenotype,senescence,and fibrosis are the likely primary contributors to ovarian aging(PCOA).Of note,we identified spatial co-localization between a PCOA-featured spot and an unappreciated MT2(Metallothionein 2)highly expressing spot(MT2^(high))characterized by high levels of inflammation,potentially serving as an aging hotspot in the primate ovary.Moreover,with advanced age,a subpopulation of MT2^(high)accumulates,likely disseminating and amplifying the senescent signal outward.Our study establishes the first primate spatiotemporal transcriptomic atlas,advancing our understanding of mechanistic determinants underpinning primate ovarian aging and unraveling potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for aging and age-associated human ovarian disorders.

Blocking beta 2-adrenergic receptor inhibits dendrite ramification in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease

Dendrite ramification affects synaptic strength and plays a crucial role in memory. Previous studies revealed a correlation between beta 2-adrenergic receptor dysfunction and Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）, although the mechanism involved is still poorly understood. The current study investigated the potential effect of the selective β2-adrenergic receptor antagonist, ICI 118551 （ICI）, on Aβ deposits and AD-related cognitive impairment. Morris water maze test results demonstrated that the performance of AD-transgenic （TG） mice treated with ICI （AD-TG/ICI） was significantly poorer compared with NaCl-treated AD-TG mice （AD-TG/NaCl）, suggesting that β2-adrenergic receptor blockage by ICI might reduce the learning and memory abilities of mice. Golgi staining and immunohistochemical staining revealed that blockage of the β2-adrenergic receptor by ICI treatment decreased the number of dendritic branches, and ICI treatment in AD-TG mice decreased the expression of hippocampal synaptophysin and synapsin 1. Western blot assay results showed that the blockage of β2-adrener- gic receptor increased amyloid-β accumulation by downregulating hippocampal a-secretase activity and increasing the phosphorylation of amyloid precursor protein. These findings suggest that blocking the β2-adrenergic receptor inhibits dendrite ramification of hippocampal neurons in a mouse model of AD.

Objective Postsynaptic density protein 95 （PSD-95） plays important roles in the regulation of glutamate signaling, such as that of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors （NMDARs）. In this study, the functional roles of PSD-95 in tyrosine phosphorylafion of NMDAR subunit 2A （NR2A） and in apoptosis-like cell death induced by oxygen-glucose de- privation （OGD） in cultured rat cortical neurons were investigated. Methods We used immunoprecipitation and immuno- blotting to detect PSD-95 protein level, tyrosine phosphorylation level of NR2A, and the interaction between PSD-95 and NR2A or Src. Apoptosis-like cells were observed by 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole staining. Results Tyrosine phospho- rylation of NR2A and apoptosis-like cell death were increased after recovery following 60-min OGD. The increases were attenuated by pretreatment with antisense oligonucleotides against PSD-95 before OGD, but not by missense oligonucle- otides or vehicle. PSD-95 antisense oligonucleotides also inhibited the increased interaction between PSD-95 and NR2A or Src, while NR2A expression did not change under this condition. Conclusion PSD-95 may be involved in regulating NR2A tyrosine phosphorylation by Src kinase. Inhibition of PSD-95 expression can be neuroprotective against apoptosis- like cell death after recovery from OGD.

Enhancer promoter interaction(EPI)involves most of gene transcriptional regulation in the high eukaryotes.Predicting the EPIs from given genomic loci or DNA sequences is not a trivial task.The benchmarking work so far for EPI predictors is more or less empirical and lacks quantitative model-based comparisons,posing challenges for molecular biologists to obtain reliable EPI predictions.Here,we present an EPI prediction platform,namely Delta.EPI.Based on a statistic model of the data integration,Delta.EPI is capable of comprehensively assessing the predictions from four state-of-the-art EPI predictors.Equipped with a userfriendly interface and visualization platform,Delta.EPI presents the sorted results with the confidence of EPI relevance,which may guide the molecular biologists who lack the pre-knowledge of the algorithms of EPI prediction.Last,we showcase the utility of Delta.EPI with a case study.Delta.EPI provides a powerful tool to fuel the gene regulation and 3D genome studies by ease-to-access EPI predictions.Delta.EPI can be freely accessed at https://***/deltaEPI/.
