A novel NN based rotor flux MRAS to overcome low speed problems for rotor resistance estimation in vector controlled IM drives

This paper presents a new neural network based model reference adaptive system （MRAS） to solve low speed problems for estimating rotor resistance in vector control of induction motor （IM）. The MRAS using rotor flux as the state variable with a two layer online trained neural network rotor flux estimator as the adaptive model （FLUX-MRAS） for rotor resistance estimation is popularly used in vector control. In this scheme, the reference model used is the flux estimator using voltage model equations. The voltage model encounters major drawbacks at low speeds, namely, integrator drift and stator resistance variation problems. These lead to a significant error in the estimation of rotor resistance at low speed. To address these problems, an ofltine trained NN with data incorporating stator resistance variation is proposed to estimate flux, and used instead of the voltage model. The ofttine trained NN, modeled using the cascade neural network, is used as a reference model instead of the voltage model to form a new scheme named as ＂NN-FLUX- MRAS.＂ The NN-FLUX-MRAS uses two neural net- works, namely, otttine trained NN as the reference model and online trained NN as the adaptive model. The performance of the novel NN-FLUX-MRAS is compared with the FLUX-MRAS for low speed problems in terms of integral square error 0SE）, integral time square error （ITSE）, integral absolute error （IAE） and integral time absolute error （ITAE）. The proposed NN-FLUX-MRAS is shown to overcome the low speed problems in Matlab simulation.

Power loss and voltage uncertainty are the major issues prevalently faced in the design of distribution *** such issues can be resolved through effective usage of networking reconfiguration that has a combination of Distributed Generation(DG)units from distribution *** this point of view,optimal placement and sizing of DGs are effective ways to boost the performance of power *** optimum allocation of DGs resolves various problems namely,power loss,voltage profile improvement,enhanced reliability,system stability,and *** research works have been conducted to address the distribution system problems in terms of power loss,energy loss,voltage profile,and voltage stability depending upon optimal DG *** this motivation,the current study designs a Chaotic Artificial Flora Optimization based on Optimal Placement and Sizing of DGs(CAFO-OPSDG)to enhance the voltage profiles and mitigate the power ***,the CAFO algorithm is derived from the incorporation of chaos theory concept into conventional artificial flora optimization AFO algorithm with an aim to enhance the global optimization *** fitness function of CAFO-OPSDG algorithm involves voltage regulation,power loss minimization,and penalty *** consider the actual power system scenario,the penalty factor acts as an important element not only to minimize the total power loss but to increase the voltage profiles as *** experimental validation of the CAFO-OPSDG algorithm was conducted against IEEE 33 Bus system and IEEE 69 Bus *** outcomes were examined under various test *** results of the experiment established that the presented CAFO-OPSDG model is effective in terms of reducing the power loss and voltage deviation and boost-up the voltage profile for the specified system.

Analysis of Nonlinear electrical Circuits Using Bernstein Polynomials

In electrical circuit analysis, it is often necessary to find the set of all direct current （d.c.） operating points （either voltages or currents） of nonlinear circuits. In general, these nonlinear equations are often represented as polynomial systems. In this paper, we address the problem of finding the solutions of nonlinear electrical circuits, which are modeled as systems of n polynomial equations contained in an n-dimensional box. Branch and Bound algorithms based on interval methods can give guaranteed enclosures for the solution. However, because of repeated evaluations of the function values, these methods tend to become slower. Branch and Bound algorithm based on Bernstein coefficients can be used to solve the systems of polynomial equations. This avoids the repeated evaluation of function values, but maintains more or less the same number of iterations as that of interval branch and bound methods. We propose an algorithm for obtaining the solution of polynomial systems, which includes a pruning step using Bernstein Krawczyk operator and a Bernstein Coefficient Contraction algorithm to obtain Bernstein coefficients of the new domain. We solved three circuit analysis problems using our proposed algorithm. We compared the performance of our proposed algorithm with INTLAB based solver and found that our proposed algorithm is more efficient and fast.

Risk evaluation for the task transfer of an aircraft maintenance program based on a multielement connection number

This paper proposes a framework for evaluating the efficacy and suitability of maintenance programs with a focus on quantitative risk assessment in the domain of aircraft maintenance task transfer. The analysis is anchored in the principles of Maintenance Steering Group-3 (MSG-3) logic decision paradigms. The paper advances a holistic risk assessment index architecture tailored for the task transfer of maintenance programs. Utilizing the analytic network process (ANP), the study quantifies the weight interrelationships among diverse variables, incorporating expert-elicited subjective weighting. A multielement connection number-based evaluative model is employed to characterize decision-specific data, thereby facilitating the quantification of task transfer-associated risk through the appraisal of set-pair potentials. Moreover, the paper conducts a temporal risk trend analysis founded on partial connection numbers of varying orders. This analytical construct serves to streamline the process of risk assessment pertinent to maintenance program task transfer. The empirical component of this research, exemplified through a case study of the Boeing 737NG aircraft maintenance program, corroborates the methodological robustness and pragmatic applicability of the proposed framework in the quantification and analysis of mission transfer risk.

Accuracy analysis of a single-fault Markov model for FADEC system

Time-limited dispatching(TLD)analysis of the full authority digital engine control(FADEC)systems is an important part of the aircraft system safety analysis and a necessary task for the certification of commercial aircraft and *** the time limited dispatch guidance document ARP5107B,a single-fault Markov model(MM)approach is proposed for TLD ***,ARP5107B also requires that the loss of thrust control(LOTC)rate error calculated by applying the single-fault MM must be less than 5%when performing airworthiness ***,the sources of accuracy errors in three kinds of MM are analyzed and specified through a case study of the general FADEC system,and secondly a two-fault MM considering maintenance policy is established through analyzing and calculating the expected repair time when two related faults ***,a specific FADEC system is given to study on the influence factors of accuracy error in the single-fault MM,and the results show that the accuracy error of the single-fault MM decreases with the increase of short or long prescribed dispatch time,and the range values of short time(ST)and long time(LT)are determined to satisfy the requirement of accuracy error within 5%.

A New Dynamic-Copula Based Correlated Degradation Feature for Remaining Useful Life Prediction

Feature extraction plays an important role in Remaining useful life(RUL) prediction. Feature extraction mainly depends on the performance degradation signal in the previous study, in which the dynamic correlations among different signals are ignored, and the RUL accuracy is affected. A new dynamic feature based on the correlations of the performance degradation signal is proposed. First, dynamic correlation coefficients are calculated by copula function as the multivariate correlation performance degradation features. Second,the random effect Wiener process is used for RUL prediction based on the new features, and the maximum likelihood estimation is adopted to calculate the unknown parameters of the Wiener process. Finally, the RUL estimation for solder joints under vibration load is carried out compared with the quantile and quantile-Principal component analysis(PCA) mixed feature extraction method. The research results show that the proposed method improved the prediction accuracy of RUL.

An Intelligent Intrusion Detection System in Smart Grid Using PRNN Classifier

Remaining useful life prediction based on variation coefficient consistency test of a Wiener process

High-cost equipment is often reused after maintenance, and whether the information before the maintenance can be used for the Remaining Useful Life （RUL） prediction after the maintenance is directly determined by the consistency of the degradation pattern before and after the maintenance. Aiming at this problem, an RUL prediction method based on the consistency test of a Wiener process is proposed. Firstly, the parameters of the Wiener process estimated by Maximum Likelihood Estimation （MLE） are proved to be biased, and a modified unbiased estimation method is proposed and verified by derivation and simulations. Then, the h statistic is constructed according to the reciprocal of the variation coefficient of the Wiener process, and the sampling distribution is derived. Meanwhile, a universal method for the consistency test is proposed based on the sampling distribution theorem, which is verified by simulation data and classical crack degradation data. Finally, based on the consistency test of the degradation model, a weighted fusion RUL prediction method is presented for the fuel pump of an airplane, and the validity of the presented method is verified by accurate computation results of real data, which provides a theoretical and practical guidance for engineers to predict the RUL of equipment after maintenance.

Remote measurement of low-energy radiation based on ARM board and ZigBee wireless communication

We propose a system for remote measurement of low-energy radiation, which is implemented using an ARM board and a Zig Bee module. The ARM STM32 F103 board employs a horizontal and vertical moving CMOS camera for front-end data acquisition. The camera can detect radiation over different coordinates given by latitude and longitude in a determined area. For image processing, we used the subtraction–summation algorithm based on gradient multiplication and edge detection. Compared to algorithms such as the max grayscale value, subtraction–summation, and whole summation, the improved subtraction–summation algorithm filters noise and removes the background grayscale value of the whole image to attain higher accuracy, stronger anti-interference ability, and better consistency to determine the radiation dose. We dedicated one port of the transmission module to send data through the STM32 F103 board, whereas another port is connected to the Zig Bee module for data reception. By employing this architecture, we achieved low power consumption and fast response in the remote data ***, the proposed system performs the remote measurement of low-energy radiation with stability andreliability, which is required for critical scenarios such as the remote detection of nuclear radiation.
