Construction of 3D porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks for ultrafast and long-cycle life sodium-ion storage

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Phase-matching enhanced quantum phase and amplitude estimation of a two-level system in a squeezed reservoir

Squeezed reservoir engineering is a powerful technique in quantum information that combines the features of squeezing and reservoir engineering to create and stabilize non-classical quantum states. In this paper, we focus on the previously neglected aspect of the impact of the squeezing phase on the precision of quantum phase and amplitude estimation based on a simple model of a two-level system(TLS) interacting with a squeezed reservoir. We derive the optimal squeezed phase-matching conditions for phase φ and amplitude θ parameters, which are crucial for enhancing the precision of quantum parameter estimation. The robustness of the squeezing-enhanced quantum Fisher information against departures from these conditions is examined, demonstrating that minor deviations from phase-matching can still result in remarkable precision of estimation. Additionally, we provide a geometric interpretation of the squeezed phase-matching conditions from the classical motion of a TLS on the Bloch sphere. Our research contributes to a deeper understanding of the operational requirements for employing squeezed reservoir engineering to advance quantum parameter estimation.

A novel method for simultaneous measurement of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations measured by an alpha spectrometer

The accumulation of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in poorly ventilated environments poses the risk of natural radiation exposure to the public.A previous study indicated that satisfactory results in determining the^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations by measuring the total alpha counts at five time intervals within 560 min should be expected only in the case of high progeny concentrations in *** complete the measurement within a relatively short period and adapt it for simultaneous measurements at comparatively lower^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations,a novel mathematical model was proposed based on the radioactive decay *** model employs a nonlinear fitting method to distinguish nuclides with overlapping spectra by utilizing the alpha particle counts of non-overlapping spectra within consecutive measurement cycles to obtain the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in *** verification experiments were conducted using an alpha *** experimental results demonstrate that the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny calculated by the new method align more closely with the actual circumstances than those calculated by the total count method,and their relative uncertainties are all within±16%.Furthermore,the measurement time was reduced to 90 min,representing an acceleration of 84%.The improved capability of the new method in distinguishing alpha particles with similar energies emitted from ^(218)Po and^(212)Bi,both approximately 6 MeV,contributed to realizing more accurate *** proposed method has the potential advantage of measuring relatively low concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in air more quickly via air filtration.

Multi-party quantum private comparison of size relationship based on one-direction quantum walks on a circle

Quantum walks(QW) are the quantum counterpart of classical random walks, and portray a natural stochastic process when the walker randomly wanders around. In a discretetime QW system on a circle, when the walker particle generally steps towards two directions, i.e., clockwise and anticlockwise, this kind of QW is called two-direction quantum walks on a circle(TDQWC); and the walker particle always steps towards one direction or stays stationary, this kind of QW is called as one-direction quantum walks on a circle(ODQWC). ODQWC exhibits some different properties,and may induce potential applications in the field of quantum secure multi-party computation.

Low dielectric loss in vanadium-based zircon ceramics via high-entropy strategy

Zircon ceramics have potential applications in next-generation wireless communication because of their low permittivity and adjustable temperature coefficient at microwave ***,the vast challenge of realizing ultralow dielectric loss still ***,we propose a high-entropy strategy to enhance the bonding of the A-site dodecahedron in zircon and design(Nd0.2Eu0.2Y0.2Ho0.2Yb0.2)VO4 ceramics with a high quality factor(high Q×f,that is,low dielectric loss).The(Nd0.2Eu0.2Y0.2Ho0.2Yb0.2)VO4 high-entropy ceramics,which belong to the tetragonal zircon structure with the I41/amd space group,exhibit a low relative permittivity(εr=11.55),a negative temperature coefficient of resonant frequency(τf=−37.3 ppm/℃),and a high Q×f of 76,400 GHz(at 12.31 GHz).The high Q×f value can be attributed to the high chemical bond strength and structural ***,the relationship between the crystal structure and the microwave dielectric properties of(Nd0.2Eu0.2Y0.2Ho0.2Yb0.2)VO4 high-entropy ceramics was analyzed through high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),Raman spectroscopy,far-infrared reflection spectroscopy,and chemical bond *** work provides an effective avenue for designing microwave dielectric materials with low loss to meet the demands of passive components.

Enhanced dynamics of Al3+/H+ ions in aqueous aluminum ion batteries:Construction of metastable structures in vanadium pentoxide upon oxygen vacancies

In recent years,aqueous aluminum ion batteries have been widely studied owing to their abundant energy storage and high theo retical *** in-depth study of vanadium oxide materials is necessary to address the precipitation of insoluble products covered cathode surface and the slow reaction ***,a method using a simple one-step hydrothermal preparation and oxalic acid to regulate oxygen vacancies has been reported.A high starting capacity(400 mAh g-1) can be achieved by Ov-V2O5,and it is capable of undergoing 200 cycles at 0.4 A g-1,with a termination discharge capacity of103 mAh *** analysis demonstrated that metastable structures（AlxV2O5and HxV2O5） were constructed through the insertion of Al3+/H+during discharging,which existed in the lattice intercalation with *** incorporation of oxygen vacancies lowers the reaction energy barrier while improving the ion transport *** addition,the metastable structure allows the electrostatic interaction between Al3+and the main backbone to establish protection and optimize the transport *** parallel,this work exploits ex-situ characterization and DFT to obtain a profound insight into the instrumental effect of oxygen vacancies in the construction of metastable structures during in-situ electrochemical activation,with a view to better understanding the mechanism of the synergistic participation of Al3+and H+in the *** work not only reports a method for cathode materials to modulate oxygen vacancies,but also lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of the metastable structure of vanadium oxides.

Holographic thermodynamics of a charged AdS black hole with a global monopole

By regarding the Newton constant GNand cosmological constant Λ as variables, in this paper we study the thermodynamics and phase transition of the Reissner-Nordstr o m anti-de Sitter(RN-Ad S) black hole with a global monopole within the framework of Ad S/CFT correspondence. We find interesting critical phenomena and phase behavior in the(grand)canonical ensembles of fixed( Q,V,C),( Φ,V,C) and( Q,V,μ). When the other parameters are fixed, the free energy decreases with the global monopole increases. In the( Q,V,C) ensemble,the range of the unstable region decreases with the increase of the global monopole. In the( Φ,V,C) ensemble, when Φ < Φc, the free energy appears as two branches, where the upper and lower branches correspond to low and high entropy, respectively. When( Q,V,μ) is fixed, a new zero-order phase transition occurs in the high-entropy phase and the low-entropy phase at certainμ-dependent temperatures. When μ increases to a certain value, this zero-order phase transition disappears. This certain value is negatively related to the magnitude of the global ***, we find that p-V criticality does not appear with the change of global ***, it is important to note that the CFT states of charged black holes with global monopoles do not correspond to van der Waals fluids. Finally, we find that charged black holes with global monopoles can better reflect thermodynamic phase transitions and critical phenomena under the Ad S/CFT correspondence. By adjusting the change of the global monopole, the thermodynamic phase transition will also change.

In-situ formation of a new cation renders perovskite solar modules with a record efficiency and long-term stability

Over the past 14 years,the efficiency of perovskite solar cells has surged from 3.8% to 26.7%[1],establishing it as an unrivaled choice for next-generation ***,maintaining the long-term stability of perovskite solar modules(PSMs)remains a *** particular,the thermal-and light-induced changes in crystal structure,composition,and optoelectronic properties are the primary causes of device degradation,currently considered the Achilles’heel that hinders its commercialization[2–4].Now,writing in Science,Ding et al.[5]achieve a milestone by overcoming the thermal-and light-induced degradation,rendering the PSM with a record efficiency of 23.2% and a T80(time to 20% efficiency loss)over 4,000 h at 85℃ and 85%relative humidity(RH)under light *** key behind this milestone is to utilize the cation reactivity to in-situ form methyl tetrahydrotriazinium([MTTZ]+,a new cation)and dimethylammonium([DMA]+)in precursor solution(Figure 1a).These cations remarkably modulate perovskite crystallization and stabilize the perovskite.

Statistical Research on Megahertz-peaked Spectra Pulsars

Megahertz-peaked spectra(MPS) pulsars are referred as cases whose radio spectra turn over around 100 MHz. We identified 53 MPS pulsars based on the spectral data from the literature, and statistically analyzed the spatial location distribution, the magnetic field-period distribution, peak frequencies, spectral indices, and dispersion measures of these MPS pulsars. We found that there is a strong positive correlation between the dispersion measures and the peak frequencies of MPS pulsars, and negative correlations of the dispersion measures with spectral indices and the ages are also found. Such correlations suggest that the interstellar medium is an important factor that affects observational properties of MPS pulsars.

Ru/NiMnB spherical cluster pillar for highly proficient green hydrogen electrocatalyst at high current density

Advanced OER/HER electrocatalytic alternatives are crucial for the wide adaptation of green hydrogen ***,Ru/NiMnB spherical cluster pillar(SCP),denoted as Ru/NiMnB,is synthesized using a combination of electro-deposition and hydrothermal *** investigation of Ru doping in the NiMnB matrix revealed significant improvements in electrocatalytic *** Ru/NiMnB SCPs demonstrate superior OER/HER activity with low overpotentials of 150 and 103 mV at 50mA/cm^(2)in 1 M KOH,making them highly competitive with state-of-the-art ***,the Ru/NiMnB SCPs exhibit a low 2-E cell voltage of 2.80 V at ultra-high current density of 2,000 m A/cm^(2)in 1 M KOH,outperforming the standard benchmark electrodes of RuO_(2)||Pt/C,thereby positioning Ru/NiMnB as one of the best bifunctional *** SCPs exhibit exceptional high-current characteristics,stability and corrosion resistance,as evidenced by continuous operation at 1,000 mA/cm^(2)high-current density for over 150 h in 6 M KOH at elevated temperatures under harsh industrial *** a small amount of Ru incorporation significantly enhances the electrocatalytic performances of NiMnB,attributed to increased active sites and improved intrinsic properties such as conductivity,adsorption/desorption capability and reaction ***,Ru/NiMnB SCPs present a promising bi-functional electrode concept for efficient green H_(2)production.
