AIM: To define the effects and signal pathways of ohmefentanyl stereoisomers [(-)-cis-(3R,4S,2’R) OMF (F9202), (+)-cis-(3R,4S,2’S) OMF (F9204), and (-)-cis-(3S,4S,2’R) OMF (F9203)] on the phosphorylation of cAMP-response element binding protein (CREB) in cultured rat hippocampal neurons. METHODS: The effects of the three OMF stereoisomers and morphine (Mor) on cAMP accumulation and CREB phosphorylation were monitored by radioimmunoassay and Western blot analysis, respectively. RESULTS: The three OMF stereoisomers and Mor could all partially inhibit forskolin-stimulated (25μmol/L, 15min) cAMP accumulation in a dose-dependent manner and this effect could be reversed by naloxone. F9202, F9204, and Mor could significantly increase CREB phosphorylation from 2.88 to 3.59 folds over control levels after 30-min exposure. This effect was reversed by naloxone, but F9203 failed to increase CREB phosphorylation. KN-62 and staurosporine significantly blocked the opioidsinduced CREB phosphorylation, while H-89 and P

In data analysis tasks, we are often confronted to very high dimensional data. Based on the purpose of a data analysis study, feature selection will find and select the relevant subset of features from the original features. Many feature selection algorithms have been proposed in classical data analysis, but very few in symbolic data analysis （SDA） which is an extension of the classical data analysis, since it uses rich objects instead to simple matrices. A symbolic object, compared to the data used in classical data analysis can describe not only individuals, but also most of the time a cluster of individuals. In this paper we present an unsupervised feature selection algorithm on probabilistic symbolic objects （PSOs）, with the purpose of discrimination. A PSO is a symbolic object that describes a cluster of individuals by modal variables using relative frequency distribution associated with each value. This paper presents new dissimilarity measures between PSOs, which are used as feature selection criteria, and explains how to reduce the complexity of the algorithm by using the discrimination matrix.

In this paper, two novel semiclassical methods including the standard and supersymmetric WKB quantization conditions are suggested to discuss the Schroedinger equation with position-dependent effective mass. From a proper coordinate transformation, the formalism of the Schroedinger equation with position-dependent effective mass is mapped into isospectral one with constant mass and therefore for a given mass distribution and physical potential function the bound state energy spectrum can be determined easily by above method associated with a simple integral formula. It is shown that our method can give the analytical results for some exactly-solvable quantum systems.

According to current theoretical predictions, any deleterious mutations that reduce nonsexual fitness may have a negative influence on mating success. This means that sexual selection may remove deleterious mutations from the populations. Males of good genetic quality should be more successful in mating, compared to the males of lower genetic quality. As mating success is a condition dependent trait, large fractions of the genome may be a target of sexual selection and many behavioral traits are likely to be condition dependent. We manipulated the genetic quality of Drosophila subobscura males by inducing mutations with ionizing radiation and observed the effects of the obtained heterozygous mutations on male mating behavior： courtship occurrence, courtship latency, mating occurrence, latency to mating and duration of mating. We found possible effects of mutations. Females mated more frequently with male progeny of nonirradiated males and that these males courted females faster compared to the male progeny of irradiated males. Our findings indicate a possible important role of sexual selection in purging deleterious mutations.

Development of efficient fluorescent probes that can realize precise fluorescence image-guided cancer surgery(FIGCS)with extremely high tumor-to-normal tissue(T/NT)ratio is urgently ***,we report the design and synthesis of an aggregation-induced emission(AIE)-active,peptide-based fluorescence turn-on probe MPA-Ph-R-FFGYSAYPDSVPMMS(MPA-Ph-R-FFGYSA for short),which consists of a new near-infrared emissive AIE luminogen(AIEgen)MPA-Ph-R,a self-assembling peptide sequence“FFG”,and an“active”targeting peptide YSAYPDSVPMMS that can selectively bind to EphA2 protein cluster overexpressed in many *** compared to the control probe MPA-Ph-R-YSA without“FFG”,MPA-Ph-R-FFGYSA exhibits much higher fluorescent brightness and sensitivity in both cellular and in vivo studies on EphA2 cluster detection/imaging,as“FFG”is beneficial to closer assembly of AIEgens in EphA2 cluster,leading to more effective restriction of the intramolecular motion of *** vivo studies demonstrate that MPA-Ph-R-FFGYSA is a safe bioprobe and gives excellent performance in FIGCS with a rather high T/NT ratio of^13.4 upon intravenous administration into peritoneal carcinomatosis-bearing *** study provides a new strategy of utilizing the close assembly of tumor microenvironment-responsive AIE probes for boost FIGCS.

Water extraction of soybean oil was studied to find the optimal conditions for recovery of oil pre-enriched protein and for aqueous extraction of soybean oil. Orthogonal tests were employed in the procedures of oil pre-enrichment and aqueous extraction. Soybeans were crushed to pass a 40 mesh sieve, soaked under the optimum conditions (solid/water=1/5(w/v), 40 ℃, pH 10, 3 h) and water-ground to 100 mesh, stirred in 65 ℃ water for 20 min, and centrifuged at 1400 g to separate oil pre-enriched protein. The protein yield was 17.8 g from 100 g soybeans, which contained 62.8% oil. The oil yield was 69.0%. Optimum conditions for the aqueous extraction procedure were: solid-to-water ratio 1∶2, pH 9.0, time 30 min, stirring in boiling water bath, stationary time 10 min, centrifuge at 3600 g for 10 min. Experimental values showed that the oil yield after aqueous extraction from oil pre-enriched protein reached 88.3%, so the total oil extraction rate was \{60.8%.\}

Based on space-charge wave theory, the formulae of the beam-wave coupling coefficient and the beam-loaded conductance are given for the beam-wave interaction in an N-gap Hughes-type coupled cavity chain. The ratio of the nonbeam-loaded quality factor of the coupled cavity chain to the beam quality factor is used to determine the stability of the beam-wave interaction. As an example, the stabilities of the beam-wave interaction in a three-gap Hughes-type coupled cavity chain are discussed with the formulae and the CST code for the operations of the 2π, π, and π/2 modes, respectively. The results show that stable operation of the 2π, π, and π/2 modes may all be realized in an extended-interaction klystron with the three-gap Hughes-type coupled cavity chain.
