Integrating Bimetallic Nanoparticles with covalent Organic Frameworks as Multifunctional Nanozyme for colorimetric Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide and Glutathione

The controllable growth of metal nanoparticles on nanomaterials is becoming an effective strategy for developing nanocomposites with designated performance. Herein, a simple and mild strategy for the in situ growth of Pt–Pd bimetallic nanoparticles on covalent organic frameworks（coFs） to regulate the nanozyme activity was designed for colorimetric detection of hydrogen peroxide（H2O2） and glutathione（GSH）. The coFs not only offer sufficient loading sites for the uniform dispersion of Pt–Pd bimetallic nanoparticles, but also increase the adsorption of substrate to promote the catalytic reaction. With the bimetallic synergistic effect of Pt–Pd nanoparticles, the prepared multifunctional nanozyme（Pt–Pd/coFs nanozyme） simultaneously exhibited superior peroxidase（POD）-like activity and oxidase（OXD）-like activity. Using the multifunctional nanozyme, a colorimetric sensing system was constructed for sensitive detection of H2O2and GSH, with the wide linear ranges of 5–1000 μmol/L and 1–40 μmol/L, and the detection limits were 1.14 μmol/L and 0.43 μmol/L, respectively. It was successfully used for the detection of real samples in environmental water and serum, providing a simple method for disease diagnosis and environmental monitoring.

How Does Economic Policy Uncertainty Impact a country's Position in Global Value Chains?

Economic globalization in the 21st century has been characterized by the rise and spread of global value chains(GVCs).It faces significant challenges due to increasing domestic and international policy uncertainty in the context of emerging mega risks like geopolitical tensions and climate *** paper begins by constructing a theoretical model for an open economy to study how risk-averse firms make decisions regarding the sourcing of intermediate inputs in an uncertain *** model solution proposes that firms will source fewer intermediate inputs from countries with more economic *** increase in domestic and foreign uncertainty will have opposite impacts on a country's position in *** this sense,we argue that a country tends to move downstream along GVCs if its own economic policies become more uncertain,and it tends to move upstream with an increase in the uncertainty of its trading partner *** regression analyses,based on data including the World Input-Output Database,World Development Indicators,the UN comtrade database,and the Economic Policy Uncertainty Index,provide empirical support for this model-based *** findings highlight that a nation must consider foreign economic policy uncertainty and maintain domestic policy stability to participate in GVCs.

Will fuel switching ever happened in China’s thermal power sector?The rule of carbon market design

To assess the effectiveness of China’s emissions trading scheme(ETS)in facilitating energy structure optimization,we constructed a fuel-switching model utilizing data from 1067 generating units under the Chinese ETS *** model simulates the fuel-switching price in China’s thermal power sector,taking into account various allowance allocation *** results show the following:1)Thermal power plants will transition from coal to gas if the current ETS auction rate surpasses 26%.2)Furthermore,in scenarios where the ETS operates independently,a transition will occur if the carbon allowance market is entirely auction-based and the carbon price attains 119.50 USD/tco_(2).3)In a collaborative scenario involving both the ETS and a gas feed-in tariff subsidy,a carbon price of 9.39 USD/tco_(2)will effect a transition from coal to gas,provided both the auction ratio and subsidy price are maximized.

Vanadium oxide cathode materials with stable crystal structure and fast Zn^(2+)storage capabilities are extremely important to achieving outstanding electrochemical performance in aqueous zinc‐ion *** this work,a one‐step hydrothermal method was used to manipulate the bimetallic ion intercalation into the interlayer of vanadium *** pre‐intercalated Cu ions act as pillars to pin the vanadium oxide(V‐O)layers,establishing stabilized two‐dimensional channels for fast Zn^(2+)*** occupation of Mn ions between V‐O interlayer further expands the layer spacing and increases the concentration of oxygen defects(Od),which boosts the Zn^(2+)diffusion *** a result,as‐prepared Cu_(0.17)Mn_(0.03)V_(2)O_(5−□)·2.16H_(2)O cathode shows outstanding Zn‐storage capabilities under room‐and lowtemperature environments(e.g.,440.3 mAh g^(−1)at room temperature and 294.3 mAh g^(−1)at−60°C).Importantly,it shows a long cycling life and high capacity retention of 93.4%over 2500 cycles at 2 A g^(−1)at−60°***,the reversible intercalation chemistry mechanisms during discharging/charging processes were revealed via operando X‐ray powder diffraction and ex situ Raman *** strategy of a couple of 3d transition metal doping provides a solution for the development of superior room‐/lowtemperature vanadium‐based cathode materials.

The effect of glutathione on glucosinolate biosynthesis through the sulfur assimilation pathway in pakchoi associated with the growth conditions

Glucosinolates(GSLs) are a group of nitrogen-and sulfur-containing secondary metabolites, synthesized primarily in members of the Brassicaceae family, that play an important role in food flavor, plant antimicrobial activity, resistance to insect attack, stress tolerance, and human anti-cancer effects. As a sulfur-containing compound, glutathione has a strong connection with GSLs biosynthesis as a sulfur donor or redox system, and exists in reduced(glutathione;GSH) and oxidized(glutathione disulfide;GSSG) forms. However, the mechanism of GSH regulating GSLs biosynthesis remainds unclear. Hence, the exogenous therapy to pakchoi under normal growth condition and sulfur deficiency condition were conducted in this work to explore the relevant mechanism. The results showed that exogenous application of buthionine sulfoximine, an inhibitor of GSH synthesis, decreased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-related genes and transcription factors, as well as sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition. Application of exogenous GSH inhibited the expression of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal condition, while the GSLs biosynthesis and the sulfur assimilation pathway were activated by exogenous application of GSH when the content of GSH in vivo of plants decreased owing to sulfur deficiency. Moreover,exogenous application of GSSG increased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition and under sulfur deficiency. The present work provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms of GSLs biosynthesis underlying glutathione regulation.

Substantial increase of heat-induced labor and economic loss in China under rapid economic and environmental temperature growth

Exposure to heat stress causes diminished work performance and leads to economic *** the last two decades,China has experienced both rapid economic development and environmental warming;however,the spatiotemporal variations of association between environmental heat and labor loss have been rarely investigated behind this double ***,we evaluated the variation in China's heat-induced labor productivity loss and related economic cost from 2001 to 2019 and investigated the effect of economic development and regional *** found that decline in labor productivity because of heat stress increased significantly(pcorresponding economic loss also exhibited a drastic increase by 6-to *** relative economic loss showed a slight but nonsignificant increase with an average value of 0.54%of the annual total *** the sub-regional and sectoral level,adverse effects were more prominent in the southeast region,and the secondary industry sectors,such as construction and manufacturing,contributed to larger proportions of economic *** transformation of industrial structure made economic sectors more vulnerable to heat exposure,and increasingly preventive effects of air-conditioning use were noted on economic damage due to heat-induced productivity decline(36.0%relative economic benefits in 2019 compared to 9.7%in 2001).Our findings could provide a deep insight into heat burden on occupational health and heat adaptation strategies regionally under climate change,especially in developing areas with higher temperature and humidity environment.

Development of a novel critical nitrogen concentration-cumulative transpiration curve for optimizing nitrogen management under varying irrigation conditions in winter wheat

Accurate nitrogen(N)nutrition diagnosis is essential for improving N use efficiency in crop *** widely used critical N(Nc)dilution curve traditionally depends solely on agronomic variables,neglecting crop water *** three-year field experiments with winter wheat,encompassing two irrigation levels(rainfed and irrigation at jointing and anthesis)and three N levels(0,180,and 270 kg ha1),this study aims to establish a novel approach for determining the Nc dilution curve based on crop cumulative transpiration(T),providing a comprehensive analysis of the interaction between N and water *** Nc curves derived from both crop dry matter(DM)and T demonstrated N concentration dilution under different conditions with different *** equation Nc=6.43T0.24 established a consistent relationship across varying irrigation *** test results indicated that the nitrogen nutrition index(NNI),calculated from this curve,effectively identifies and quantifies the two sources of N deficiency:insufficient N supply in the soil and insufficient soil water concentration leading to decreased N availability for root ***,the NNI calculated from the Nc-DM and Nc-T curves exhibited a strong negative correlation with accumulated N deficit(Nand)and a positive correlation with relative grain yield(RGY).The NNI derived from the Nc-T curve outperformed the NNI derived from the Nc-DM curve concerning its relationship with Nand and RGY,as indicated by larger R2 values and smaller *** novel Nc curve based on T serves as an effective diagnostic tool for assessing winter wheat N status,predicting grain yield,and optimizing N fertilizer management across varying irrigation *** findings would provide new insights and methods to improve the simulations of water-N interaction relationship in crop growth models.

The physical formation mechanisms of the Atlantic Multidecadal Variability(AMV)in the context of global warming have been a key research topic(Vecchi et al.,2017).The conventional view is that the AMV is mainly driven by internal dynamics within the climate system,especially in the Atlantic Ocean(Zhang et al.,2019).However,some studies suggest that decadal to multidecadal variations in North Atlantic sea surface temperature(SST)since around 1950 are related to anthropogenic and natural aerosol emissions(Otter?et al.,2010;Booth et al.,2012;Hua et al.,2019).

Efficient genome editing in rice with miniature Cas12f variants
