Delay-independent robust guaranteed-cost control for uncertain linear neutral systems

This article concerns the delay-independent guaranteed-cost control problem via memoryless state feedback for a class of neutral-type systems with structural uncertainty and a given quadratic cost function. New delay-independent conditions for the existence of the guaranteed-cost controller are presented in the term of LMIs. An algorithm involving optimization is proposed to design a controller achieving an optimal guaranteed-cost, such that, the system can be stabilized for all admissible uncertainties. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

Stability of a class of nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainty is dealt with. This kind of systems can be viewed as feedback interconnection systems. By constructing the Lyapunov function for one of the feedback interconnection systems, the Lyapunov function for this kind of systems is obtained. Sufficient conditions of global asymptotic stability for this class of systems are deduced. The simulation shows the effectiveness of the method.

This article deals with the uniformly globally asymptotic controllability of discrete nonlinear systems with *** is shown that the system is uniformly globally asymptotic controllability with respect to a closed set if and only if there exists a smooth control Lyapunov ***, it is obtained that the control Lyapunov function may be used to construct a feedback law to stabilize the closed-loop *** addition, it is proved that for periodic discrete systems, the resulted control Lyapunov functions are also time periodic.

The stabilization of discrete nonlinear systems is studied. Based on control Lyapunov functions, a sufficient and necessary condition for a quadratic function to be a control Lyapunov function is given. From this condition, a continuous state feedback law is constructed explicitly. It can globally asymptotically stabilize the equilibrium of the closed-loop system. A simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

To analyze and evaluate the testability design of equipment, a testability analysis method based on Bayesian network inference model is proposed in the paper. The model can adequately apply testability information and many uncertainty information of design and maintenance process, so it can analyze testability by and large from Bayesian inference. The detailed procedure to analyze and evaluate testability for equipments by Bayesian network is given in the paper. Its modeling process is simple, its formulation is visual, and the analysis results are more reliable than others. Examples prove that the analysis method based on Bayesian network inference can be applied to testability analysis and evaluation for complex equipments.

An optimal tracking control （OTC） problem for linear time-delay large-scale systems affected by external persistent disturbances is investigated. Based on the internal model principle, a disturbance compensator is constructed. The system with persistent disturbances is transformed into an augmented system without persistent disturbances. The original OTC problem of linear time-delay system is transformed into a sequence of linear two- point boundary value （TPBV） problems by introducing a sensitivity parameter and expanding Maclaurin series around it. By solving an OTC law of the augmented system, the OTC law of the original system is obtained. A numerical simulation is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

To realize the requirement of diagnostic sequence optimization in the process of design for testability, the authors put forward an optimization method based on quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization （QPSO） algorithm. By a precedence ordering coding, the diagnostic sequence optimization can be translated into a precedence ordering problem in the multidimensional space of swarm. It can get the optimizing order quickly by using the powerful and quick search capability of QPSO algorithm, and the order is the diagnostic sequence for the system. The realization of the method is simpler than other methods, and the results are more excellent than others, and it has been applied in the engineering practice.

The existence of spurious steady solutions and period-2 solutions in constant timestep is studied. The concepts of R[1]-regularity and R[2]-regularity of a class of hybrid methods for dynamical systems of ordinary differential equations are introduced and studied. Some conditions guaranteeing R[1]-regularity and R[2]-regularity of such methods applied to dynamical systems of ordinary differential equations with some important structures are given.

An improved hybrid position/force controller design of a flexible robot manipulator is presented using a sliding observer. The friction between the end effector and the environment is considered and compensated. For systematic reasons the controller is designed taking into consideration the rigid link subsystems and the flexible joints. The proposed control system satisfies the stability of the two subsystems and copes with the uncertainty of robot dynamics. A sliding observer is designed to estimate the time derivative of the torque applied as input to the rigid part of the robot. For the stability of the observer, it is assumed that the uncertainty of the observed system is bounded. A MRAC algorithm is used for the estimation of the friction forces at the contact point between the end effector and the environment. Finally simulation and experimental results are given, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
