Dear Editor,Rauvolfia tetraphylla(aka the Devil pepper)(Supplemental Figure 1)is a well-known medicinal plant that produces monoterpenoid indole alkaloids(MIAs).This MIA biosynthesis occurs in several organs,including leaves,stems,fruit,and roots,which accumulate the famous antiarrhythmic ajmaline(Kumar et al.2016a,2016b;Kumara et al.,2019).MIAs are natural products notably involved in plant adaptation to the environment and defense against *** mainly results from their high biological activities,which also explain their pharmacological properties.

Potential crosslinks between inflammation and leukaemia have been discussed for some time, but experimental evidence to support this dogma is scarce. In particular, it is important to understand the mechanisms responsible for potential upregulation of proto-oncogenic growth factor expressions by inflammatory mediators. Here, we investigated the ability of the highly inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1 beta （IL-1β） to induce the production of stem cell factor （SCF）, which is a major hematopoietic growth factor that controls the progression of acute myeloid leukaemia upon malignant transformation of haematopoietic myeloid cells. We found that human IL-1β induced the expression/secretion of SCF in MCF-7 human epithelial breast cancer cells and that this process depended on the hypoxia-inducible factor 1 （HIF-1） transcription complex. We also demonstrated a crucial role of the phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase （PI-3K）/mammalian target of rapamycin （mTOR） pathway in IL-1β-induced HIF-1α accumulation in MCF-7 cells. Importantly, mTOR was also found to play a role in IL-1β-induced SCF production. Furthermore, a tendency for a positive correlation of IL-1β and SCF levels in the plasma of healthy human donors was observed. Altogether, our results demonstrate that IL-1β, which normally bridges innate and adaptive immunity, induces the production of the major haematopoietic/proleukaemic growth factor SCF through the PI-3K/mTOR pathway and the HIF-1 transcription complex. These findings strongly suoDort a cross-talk between inflammation and acute mveloid leukaemia.

Three-dimensional imaging cannot be achieved easily using previously developed localization super-resolution techniques. Here, we present a three-dimensional multimodal sub-diffraction imaging technique with spinning-disk （SD） confocal microscopy called 3D-MUSIC, which not only has all the advantages of SD confocal microscopy such as fast imaging speed, high signal-to-noise ratio, and optical-sectioning capability, but also extends its spatial resolution limit along all three dimensions. Both axial and lateral resolution can be improved simul- taneously by virtue of the blinking/fluctuating nature of modified fluorescent probes, exemplified with the quantum dots. Further, super-resolution images with dual modality can be obtained through super-resolution optical fluctuation imaging （SOFI） and bleaching/blinking-assisted localization microscopy （BALM）. Therefore, fast super-resolution imaging can be achieved with SD-SOFI by capturing only 100 frames while SD-BaLM yields high-resolution imaging.

In order to build a low-risk Fund of Funds(FOF), from the perspective of correlation, the principal component factor is used to improve the traditional risk parity model. Principal component analysis is used to decompose the underlying assets and generate unrelated principal component factors,and then the authors can construct a principal component risk parity portfolio. The proposed empirical results based on China’s mutual fund market show that the performance of principal component risk parity portfolio(PCRPP) is better than that of equal weight portfolio(EWP) and traditional risk parity portfolio(RPP). That is to say, not only the PCRPP in this paper has much lower risk than EWP and RPP, but also slightly better than EWP and RPP in terms of average return. Moreover, the study of dividing the underlying assets shows that the PCRPP in this paper is not sensitive to the underlying assets. The PCRPP in this paper is better than EWP and RPP for both the better performing funds and the worse performing funds. In addition, the empirical results on dynamic portfolio adjustments show that it is not appropriate to adjust asset allocation too frequently when the expected rate of return is calculated using the arithmetic mean.

Hydraulic jetting is a form of fracturing that involves using a high-pressure jet of water to create fractures in the reservoir rock with a nozzle serving as the central component of the hydraulic sandblasting perforation *** this study,the flow behavior of the nozzle is simulated numerically in the framework of a SST k-ωturbulence *** results show that the nozzle structure can significantly influence the jet performance and related cavitation *** orthogonal experiments,the nozzle geometric parameters are optimized,and the following configuration is found accordingly:contraction angle 20°,contraction segment length 6 mm,cylindrical segment diameter 6 mm,cylindrical segment length 12 mm,spread segment length 10 mm,and spread angle 55°.

Microbial fuel cells(MFCs)are innovative devices that combine microbial processes with electrochemical reactions to convert organic matter in wastewater into electricity while simultaneously treating the *** such application is the treatment of spent wash,a highly polluting effluent generated from the distillery industry after crude mesh is separated into ethanol and spent *** wash,also known as distillery effluent or stillage,is a highly challenging wastewater treatment method due to its high chemical oxygen demand(coD),biological oxygen demand(BOD),and total dissolved solids(TDS).These characteristics make it a complex and polluting industrial effluent that requires specialized treatment processes to reduce its environmental impact ***,MFCs have shown promise in treating spent wash,as they can utilize the organic matter in wastewater as a fuel source for microbial growth as well as for electricity *** the treatment of spent wash,Saccharomyces cerevisiae *** used as a biocatalyst along with 340 mol/L potassium ferricyanide in the cathode chamber and 170 mol/L methylene blue in the anode as a *** tests were conducted by balancing a one-liter volume for power production from spent wash in MFC with the optimal conditions of 10%agarose,pH 8.5,300 mL/min of aeration in the cathode chamber,and 40%(in weight)substrate *** an ideal concentration,the maximum current and power density are roughly 53.41 mA/m^(2)and 72.22 mW/m^(2),*** each litre of processed spent wash,a maximum voltage of 850 mV(4.5 mA)was ***,91%of coD and BOD were removed from the effluent *** findings show that MFCs are capable of producing electricity and efficiently removing coD from wasted wash at the same time.
