AIM: To investigate the short-term clinical results of the Oxford phase III cementless medial unicondylar knee prosthesis(UKP) compared to the cemented medial ***: We conducted a cross-sectional study in a tertairy orthopedic centre between the period of May 2010 and September 2012. We included 99 medial UKP in 97 patients and of these UKP, 53 were cemented and 46 were cementless. Clinical outcome was measured using a questionnaire, containing a visual analogue scale(VAS) for pain, Oxford Knee score, Kujala score and SF-12 score. Knee function was tested using the American Knee Society score. Complications, reoperations and revisions were recorded. Statistical significance was defined as a P value pain score of 7.4 vs 11.7(P = 0.22), an Oxford Knee score of 43.3 vs 41.7(P = 0.27) and a Kujala score of 79.6 vs 78.0(P = 0.63). The American Knee Society scores were slightly better in the cementless group with 94.5 vs 90.2(P = 0.055) for the objective score and 91.2 vs 87.8(P = 0.25) for the subjective ***: The cementless Oxford phase III medial UKP shows good short-term clinical results, when used in a specialist clinic by an experienced surgeon.

Recent studies have shown significant associations of aberrant DNA methylation in spermatozoa with idiopathic male infertility, increased frequency of spontaneous abortions and imprinting disorders. Thus, the analysis of DNA methylation of specific genes in spermatozoa has the potential to become a new valuable diagnostic marker in clinical andrology. This perspective article discusses the current state and value of DNA methylation analysis in the diagnostic setup of infertile men and outlines challenges and perspectives. It highlights the potential of DNA methylation in andrological diagnostics and its putative benefit in the examination of hitherto idiopathic infertile patients is described.

Although recent diagnostic and therapeutic advances have substantially improved the survival of patients with gastric cancer(GC), the overall prognosis is still poor. Surgery is the only curative treatment and should be performed in experienced centers. Due to high relapse following surgery, complementary and systemic treatment aimed at eradicating micrometastasis should be performed in most cases. Cytotoxic treatments are effective in downstaging locally advanced cancer, but different sensitivities and toxicities probably exist in different GC subtypes. Current treatment protocols are based primarily on clinical data and histological features, but molecular biomarkers that would allow for the prediction of treatment responses are urgently needed. Understanding how host factors are responsible for inter-individual variability of drug response or toxicity will also contribute to the development of more effective and less toxic treatments.

The aim of hormonal male contraception is to prevent unintended pregnancies by suppressing spermatogenesis. Hormonal male contraception is based on the principle that exogenous administration of androgens and other hormones such as progestins suppress circulating gonadotropin concentrations, decreasing testicular Leydig cell and Sertoli cell activity and spermatogenesis. In order to achieve more complete suppression of circulating gonadotropins and spermatogenesis, a progestin has been added testosterone to the most recent efficacy trials of hormonal male contraceptives. This review focusses on the potential effects of male hormonal contraceptives on cardiovascular risk factors, iipids and body composition, mainly in the target group of younger to middle-aged men. Present data suggest that hormonal male contraception can be reasonably regarded as safe in terms of cardiovascular risk. However, as all trials have been relatively short （〈 3 years）, a final statement regarding the cardiovascular safety of hormonal male contraception, especially in long-term use, cannot be made. Older men with at high risk of cardiovascular event might not be good candidates for hormonal male contraception. The potential adversSeffects of hormonal contraceptives on cardiovascular risk appear to depend greatly on the choice of the progestin in regimens for hormonal male contrai：eptives. In the development of prospective hormonal male contraception, data on longer-term cardiovascular safety will be essential.

Background:There are several reports describing an increase in anterior pelvic tilt after hamstring lengthening in children with cerebral palsy (CP).Distal femoral extension and shortening osteotomy (DFESO) is an alternative treatment for correction of flexed knee gait,but investigations analyzing outcome and influence on adjacent joint are few in the *** purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of DFESO on knee and pelvis in children with ***,it was of interest if an additional patellar tendon advancement (PA) influences ***:In this retrospective study,31 limbs of 22 children (GMFCS Ⅰ-Ⅲ;mean age:12.1±3.1 years),who received DFESO were included and kinematic parameters (knee,pelvis) measured by 3-D-gait analysis were compared before and at least 1 year after surgery (mean follow-up period:15.6 months).Results:After surgery,during stance phase minimum knee flexion improved significantly by 20.5° (P<0.001) and mean anterior pelvic tilt increased by 4.0 degrees (P=0.045).In 16 limbs,the postoperative increase in maximum anterior pelvic tilt was more than 5°.Limbs who received an additional PA showed the biggest increase in anterior pelvic ***:DFESO is an effective method for correction of flexed knee gait in children with ***,the results of this study indicate that DFESO may lead to an increase in anterior pelvic tilt,which may lead to a recurrence of flexed knee *** this context,PA seemed to aggravate the effect on the pelvis.

Context: Breast cancer represents a significant public health problem concern the world, given its frequency (20% to 25% of female cancers) and diagnosis clinical stage with a particular frequency of locally advanced cancers and inflammatory forms. Objectives: To describe the socio-demographic, clinical and histological characteristics of breast cancer at the University clinics of Kinshasa. Methods: A descriptive and retrospective study was completed at University clinics of Kinshasa from 1 January 2003 to 30 July 2018, including 300 cases of breast cancer diagnosed and treated. Results: The mean age of women at diagnosis was 47.5 ± 10.8 years. Most of the patients were married, multipara with an average parity of 3.7 ± 2.5 and non-menopausal. Breast mass was the main reason for medical visit (47.5%) and the majority of patients consulted 12 months after the onset of the disease (36.3%) at stage 3 (56%) and node extension was observed in 61.3%. The average size of the breast mass was 8.02 ± 3.7 cm. The infiltrating ductal carcinoma was the most common histological type in 82.5% of cases;the majority of tumors were histo-pronostic II in 47.5% of cases. 83% of the tumors were hormonal-dependent. Only 35.9% of the tumors over-expressed the HER 2/Neu receptor. Conclusion: Most patients consulted more than 12 months after the onset of the disease and the diagnosis was made at advanced stages. The tumor was large at diagnosis. The left breast was the most affected. The majority of tumors are of high histopronostic grade and are hormonal-dependent.

The majority of studies agree upon the poor quality and efficiency of cryopreserved/thawed hepatocytes as compared to freshly isolated *** ice formation or exposure to hyperosmotic solutionsremains the main phenomenon of cryopreservation process,and its effects on cell quality and cell death induction will be *** increased knowledge and understanding of the cryopreservation process will lead to research strategies to improve the viability and the quality of the cell suspensions after *** strategies,such as vitrification,will be discussed with respect to their potential to significantly improve the quality of cell suspensions dedicated to liver cell-based therapies.
