A number of topical and systemic treatments have been used in the management of psoriasis and lately biologics have emerged as a new and promising treatment modality for difficuIt-to-treat *** evidence on the efficacy of these agents has been growing dramatically with QOL being used as one of the primary outcome measures in many clinical *** aim of this paper is to give an overview of the use of the DLQI as an outcome measure for assessing the QOL impact of biologies on psoriasis ***,the efficacy of five commonly used biologics has been compared in terms of their ability to improve the QOL assessed by the *** review has revealed that there is a variation in the efficacy of various biologies in terms of QOL improvement with the mean reduction in the DLQI scores being highest for ustekinumab 90 mg（mean DLQI score reduction=9.5）,followed by infliximab（8.5）,etanercept 50 mg,twice a week（7.7）,adalimumab（6.3）,and alefacept（4.0）.

Purpose: The aim of this work was to describe the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic features of pigmented skin acne in Benin. Methods: This was a prospective, cross-sectional and analytical study conducted in the dermatology departments of the Borgou-Alibori Departmental Teaching Hospital and the National Teaching Hospital Hubert Koutoukou Maga from January 2017 to December 2018, which has included black-skinned patients who were diagnosed with acne and gave their free and informed consent. The ECLA score was used for clinical evaluation of the severity of the acne. Results: We collected 129 patients including 35 men and 94 women. The median age of the patient was 24.6 years ± 8.5 years. The median age of onset was 17.9 years ± 7.6 years. The main triggering of worsening factors was inadequate self-medication (53.5%), excoriation (48.1%), certain foods (34.9%) and lightening cosmetic (32.5%). Most patients had inflammatory (51.9%) or comedonal (31.8%) acne associated with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentations (70.5%) and excoriated lesions (31%). In the majority of cases, acne was moderate in women (52.1%) and severe in men (62.8%) with p = 9 × 10-3. The lesions were electively seated in the face (95.3%), mainly on the forehead and cheeks. Active cosmetics (76.7%), retinoids (58.9%), oral antibiotics (55.8%), and benzoyl peroxide (48.9%) were the most commonly used therapeutic classes. Conclusion: The majority of young and adult women consulted for predominant inflammatory acne on the forehead and cheeks, moderate in woman and severe in men in Benin. The therapeutic arsenal consisted mainly of active cosmetics, retinoids, antibiotics and benzoyl peroxide.

Introduction: Dermatoses are common in the pediatric population. They have certain particularities such as the prevalence of the diaper dermatitis and genetic disorders. Paediatric dermatological problems are common, with some conditions requiring specialist consultation. Often appropriate diagnosis and therapy are sometime delayed in certain countries. Few studies have focused on pediatric aspects of skin diseases in Côte d’Ivoire. We initiated this work to contribute to a better knowledge of pediatric skin conditions in our work context. Material and Methods: This is a cross-sectional prospective, descriptive and analytical study carried out in the dermatology Department of the University Hospital of Treichville from January 2015 to December 2017. Data from the study were collected on a survey card that included socio-demographic characteristics and clinical aspects. All children with cutaneous and mucosal disease seen in pediatric dermatology consultation have been taken into account in the study. Results: 11,487 patients were seen in dermatology consultation during the period of our study with only 302 children, a prevalence of 2.6%. The sex ratio was 0.9. The main reason for consultation was pruritus (22.65%). In 63.9% of the cases the child was referred by a family member whereas more than 1/3 of the children (39.07%) had previously been consulted by a pediatrician. Among children referred with a skin diagnosis, the half had a correct diagnosis The most prevalent disorders by category were dermatitis (57.9%) and infections (29.5%). Multiple diagnosis were made in 9.27% of the patients. The most common pathologies encountered were prurigo (23.2%), scabies (12.9%) and atopic dermatitis (9.6%). The lesions were mainly located on the head (23.31%) and the lower limbs (20.51%). In almost all cases (99.3%), the diagnosis was essentially clinical. BACKGROUND Intramuscular corticosteroid injection may cause adverse effects such as dermal and/or subcutaneous atrophy,alopecia,hypopigmentation,and *** cutaneous atrophy can spontaneously resolve,several treatment options have been suggested for this *** SUMMARY In this paper,we report a case of corticosteroid injection induced lipoatrophy treated with autologous whole blood(AWB)injection,as the condition had been unresponsive to fractional laser therapy.A 29-year-old female patient visited the dermatology clinic complaining of skin depression on her right buttock area,which had appeared six months *** had been only subtle improvement at the margins after fractional CO_(2) laser treatment;therefore,after obtaining informed consent from the patient,AWB treatment was *** month after the first AWB injection,the size and depth of the lesion had noticeably improved,and a slight improvement was also observed in *** Close observation is the initial treatment of choice for steroid induced skin atrophy;however,for patients in need of immediate cosmetic improvement,AWB injection may be a safe and cost-effective alternative.

Aim: The degree of probability to retrieve spermatozoa from testicular tissue for intracytoplasmic sperm injection intooocytes is of interest for counselling of infertility patients. We investigated the relation of sperm retrieval to clinical dataand histological pattern in testicular biopsies from azoospermic patients. Methods: In 264 testicular biopsies from142 azoospermic patients, the testicular tissue was shredded to separate the spermatozoa, histological semi-thin sec-tions of which were then evaluated using Johnsen score. Results: The retrieval of spermatozoa correlated signifi-cantly (P clinical examination. However, the probability of retrieval of sper-matozoa decreased significantly in patients with a FSH level > 18 U/L, tesficular volume < 5mL, mean Johnsen score< 5, and maximum Johnsen score < 7.

Objective’ Recent studies indicated that incidence of occlusive cardiovascular diseases increased in psoriasis. Changes of serum lipid metabolism may be the cause. Apolipoproteinsplay a central role in lipoprotein metabolism in serum. The measurement of serum apo levelsmay reveal the characteristics of lipoprotein metabolism in serum in patients with psoriasisand may help to find an answer to the cause of the high incidence of occlusive cardiovasculardiseases in ***. The apo levels of 31 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 31 sex- and age-matched healthy individuals with normal serum lipid levels were measured by radial immuno-diffusion ***’ The apo C Ⅲ (t= 2.44,P<0. 05) and apo E (t=2. 12, P<0. 05) of psoriat-ic group elevated significantly- The apo C Ⅲ(t= 2.77, P<0.01) of patients less than 40-year-old and apoE (t= 2. 91, P<0. 01) of male patients eIevated significantly. Conclusha. Abndrmal metabolism of lipoprotein in serum exist in psoriasis, especially inmale patients and/or patients less than 40 years old.
