Synovial macrophages are crucial in the development of joint inflammation and bone damage;however, the pathways that controlmacrophage remodeling in inflammatory M1 cells or bone-eroding osteoclasts are not fully understood. We determined thatelevated IL-7R/CD127 expression is the hallmark of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) M1 macrophages and that these cells are highlyresponsive to interleukin-7 (IL-7)-driven osteoclastogenesis. We established that lipopolysaccharide (LPS), interferon-γ (IFNγ), andtumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα), the classic M1 macrophage mediators, enhance IL-7R expression in RA and murine *** local expression of IL-7 provokes arthritis, predominantly through escalating the number of F480^(+)iNOS^(+) cells rather than CD3^(+)T cells. Ectopic LPS injection stabilizes IL-7-induced arthritis by increasing myeloid IL-7R expression, in part via IFNγ ***, in RAG−/− mice, IL-7-mediated arthritis is suppressed because of the reduction in myeloid IL-7R expression due to the lackof IFNγ. Moreover, the amelioration of IL-7-induced arthritis by anti-TNF therapy is due to a decrease in the number of cells in theunique F480^(+)iNOS^(+)IL-7R^(+)CCL5^(+) subset, with no impact on the F480^(+)Arginase^(+) cell or CD3^(+) T cell frequency. Consistent with thepreclinical findings, the findings of a phase 4 study performed with RA patients following 6 months of anti-TNF therapy revealedthat IL-7R expression was reduced without affecting the levels of IL-7. This study shifts the paradigm by discovering that IL-7-induced arthritis is dependent on F480^(+)iNOS^(+)IL-7R^(+)CCL5^(+) cell function, which activates TH-1 cells to amplify myeloid IL-7Rexpression and disease severity.

Yeast protein is a kind of yeast-source high-quality complete *** coexistence of bioactive molecules with yeast protein may influence its physicochemical *** study discussed the interaction mechanism of yeast protein with two bioactive molecules,the hydrophobic curcumin and the hydrophilic epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG).Results indicated that curcumin and EGCG could interact with yeast protein with different binding stoichiometric numbers(0.8109±0.0695 and 2.7248±0.2422)and binding constants((3.8152±0.0078)×10^(4) and(1.1875±0.0440)×10^(5)),*** EGCG and curcumin decreased theα-helix content while increased theβ-sheet proportion,and co-binding remarkably reduced theα-helix proportion relative to the single ligand *** co-binding of these two compounds decreased the association extent of the yeast protein,which in turn reduced the diameter of yeast protein-EGCG-curcumin *** binding of EGCG with yeast protein improved the thermal stability of ***,the co-binding improved the emulsification stability of yeast protein,and curcumin exhibited a more remarkable effect in improving the *** work provides a theoretical basis for clarifying the interaction mechanisms of hydrophobic/hydrophilic molecules with yeast protein,and extends the potential applications of the novel fungus protein sources for food function enhancement and bioactive molecule stabilization.

Pipelines are one of the most important modern energy transportation methods,used especially for the transportation of certain dangerous energy media materials such as crude oil,natural gas,and chemical raw *** requirements have been put forward for the health monitoring and early security warning of pipelines because of the large-scale and complicated development trend of the pipe network *** achieve an accurate assessment of the health conditions of pipeline infrastructure,obtaining as many precise operating parameters as possible,particularly at some critical parts of the pipeline,is ***,a novel type of fiber grating strain sensor array is proposed herein to monitor the pipeline hoop *** sensor utilizes fiber grating characteristics such as light weight,corrosion resistance,remote transmission,and strong environmental *** fiber containing the grating measurement points is implanted into the composite material to complete the sensitization encapsulation and protection of the bare fiber *** design of the sensor array fulfills the requirements for monitoring pipeline mass data,making it easy to form a pipeline health monitoring sensor *** sensor sensitivity is researched by using a combination of theoretical and experimental analysis.A sensitivity test,as well as linearity and stability tests,are performed on the *** experimental results show that the average sensitivity of the sensor is 14.86 pm/με,and the error from the theoretical calculation analysis value is 8.75%.Due to its high reliability,good linear response and long-term stability,and the ability to reflect the exact strain change of the outer wall of the pipeline,the designed sensor can support longterm online pipeline *** fiber grating sensor array network has successfully realized the monitoring of the pipeline’s internal operation by using external strain *** addition to the performance benefits,there are other

Alumina/Iron Oxide Nano Composite for Cadmium Ions Removal from Aqueous Solutions

Magnetic alumina nano composite (MANC) was prepared for combination of the adsorption features of nano activated alumina with the magnetic properties of iron oxides to produce a nano magnetic adsorbent, which can be separated from the medium by a simple magnetic process after adsorption. MANC was characterized using XRD, SEM, TEM, EDX and surface area (BET). Quantum design SQUID magnetometer was used to study the magnetic measurement. The present study was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of MANC for the removal of cadmium ions from aqueous solutions through batch adsorption technique. The effects of pH, adsorbent dose, temperature, contact time and initial Cd2+ concentration on cadmium ions adsorption were studied. Equilibrium data were fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherms. The equilibrium data were best represented by the Langmuir isotherm. The kinetic data were fitted to pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, Elovich and intraparticle diffusion models, and it was found to follow closely the pseudo-second-order model. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated for the Cd2+ ion-MANC system and the positive value of ΔH° showed that the adsorption was endothermic in nature. Furthermore, a single-stage batch adsorber was designed for the removal of Cd2+ ions by MANC based on the equilibrium data obtained.

Compared with organic solar cells(OSCs) adopting conventional architecture,inverted OSCs have offered generally better stability,where Zn O is the most widely used electron transporting layer(ETL) *** ZnO-based inverted OSCs,a welltuned interface of organic(active layer)-inorganic(Zn O film) with matched surface energy(γS) is critical for both high performance and high *** this work,two typical calixarenes,C4A and Bu C4A,were employed as the tuning agents to adjust this organic-inorganic interface for ZnO-based inverted *** a result,with PM6:L8-BO as the active layer,significantly promoted power conversion efficiencies(PCEs) from 17.14%(for ZnO) to 18.25%(for ZnO/C4A) and 17.80%(for ZnO/Bu C4A) were *** studies indicate that the enhanced performance is due to the faster charge extraction process,the suppressed recombination and more ideal internal electric field in ZnO/calixarene-based *** addition,wellmatched interface energy and more ordered molecular aggregation in active layer effectively improved photostability and thermal stability for ZnO/calixarene-based *** results indicate that calixarenes could act as effective modifying agents of ZnO to improve inverted OSCs’ performance and stability simultaneously,and likely also stimulate calixarenes’ and other macromolecules’ broader studies in other organic electronic devices.

Interactive Effect and Spatial Characteristics of Agricultural Development Level and Transport Superiority Degree in Main Grain-producing Areas of the Central Jilin Province,China

To investigate the spatial synergy between agricultural development level and transport superiority degree in grain-producing areas of the central Jilin Province and the driving mechanism between them,22 counties in the central Jilin Province were used as the research units to calculate agricultural development level and transport superiority degree using the entropy weighting method,weighted travel time and raster cost *** spatial econometric model was used to analyze the mechanism of the mutual influence between the *** main conclusions are as follows.1)Agricultural development level around Changchun,the provincial capital city,and in the areas of Changchun-Jilin and Changchun-Gongzhuling is high,whereas the development level of the counties in the southwest is low.2)Transport superiority degree of each county has improved,the overall connectivity of the road networks has been optimized,and the level of transportation accessibility has shown the development trend of‘centralization’,exhibiting the characteristics of proximity diffusion.3)Locally,there is spatial heterogeneity in the mutual driving effects of the two,with six main patterns.4)The theoretical conditions of von Thunen’s agricultural location have changed under the conditions of market economy due to the improvement of the transport networks,the new model of agricultural development,and the changes of the market system.

Mechanical strength and its long-term stability of bioceramic scaffolds is still a problem to treat the osteonecrosis of the femoral *** the long-term stability of diopside(DIO)ceramic but poor mechanical strength,we developed the DIO-based porous bioceramic composites via dilute magnesium substituted wollastonite reinforcing and three-dimensional(3D)*** experimental results showed that the secondary phase(i.e.10%magnesium substituting calcium silicate;CSM10)could readily improve the sintering property of the bioceramic composites(DIO/CSM10-x,x=0-30)with increasing the CSM10 content from 0%to 30%,and the presence of the CSM10 also improved the biomimetic apatite mineralization ability in the pore struts of the ***,the flexible strength(12.5 -30 MPa)and compressive strength(14-37 MPa)of the 3D printed porous bioceramics remarkably increased with increasing CSM10 content,and the compressive strength of DIO/CSM10-30 showed a limited decay(from 37 MPa to 29 MPa)in the Tris buffer solution for a long time stage(8 weeks).These findings suggest that the new CSM10-reinforced diopside porous constructs possess excellent mechanical properties and can potentially be used to the clinic,especially for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head work as a bioceramic rod.

Hydrogel has been used for in suit gastric ulcer therapy by stopping bleeding,separating from ulcer from gastric fluids and providing extracellular matrix scaffold for tissue regeneration,however,this treatment guided with endoscopic catheter in most ***,we developed an oral keratin hydrogel to accelerate the ulcer healing without endoscopic guidance,which can specially adhere to the ulcer because of the high-viscosity gel formation on the wound surface in *** 50%of the ulcer-adhesive keratin hydrogel can resident in ethanol-treated rat stomach within 12 h,while approximately 18%of them maintained in health rat stomach in the same amount of ***,Keratin hydrogels accelerated the ethanol-induced gastric ulcer healing by stopping the bleeding,preventing the epithelium cells from gastric acid damage,suppressing inflammation and promoting *** oral administration of keratin hydrogel in gastric ulcer treatment can enhance the patient compliance and reduce the gastroscopy *** research findings reveal a promising biomaterial-based approach for treating gastrointestinal ulcers.

Integrated rice management simultaneously improves rice yield and nitrogen use efficiency in various paddy fields

The hilly area of Southwest China is a typical rice production area which is limited by seasonal droughts and low temperature in the early rice growth period.A field experiment was conducted on three typical paddy fields(low-lying paddy field,medium-elevation paddy field,and upland paddy field)in this ***(N)treatment(180 kg N ha-1 year-1)was compared to a control treatment(0 kg N ha-1 year-1)to evaluate the effects of integrated rice management(IRM)on rice growth,grain yield,and N *** rice management integrated raised beds containing plastic mulch,furrow irrigation,and triangular *** comparison to traditional rice management(TRM),IRM promoted rice tiller development,with 7–13 more tillers per cluster at the maximum tillering stage and 1–6 more tillers per cluster at the end of tillering *** rice management significantly increased the rice aboveground biomass by 34.4%–109.0%in different growth periods and the aboveground N uptake by 25.3%–159.0%.Number of productive tillers significantly increased by 33.0%,resulting in a 33.0%increase in grain yield and 8.0%improvement of N use efficiency(NUE).Grain yields were significantly increased in all three paddy fields assessed,with IRM being the most important factor for grain yield and productive tiller *** of paddy field type and N level on N uptake by aboveground plants were reflected in the rice reproductive growth period,with the effects of IRM more striking due to the dry climate *** conclusion,IRM simultaneously improved rice yield and NUE,presenting a valuable rice management technique in the paddy fields assessed.
