Response Mechanisms to Flooding Stress in Mulberry Revealed by Multi-Omics Analysis

Abiotic stress,including flooding,seriously affects the normal growth and development of plants.Mulberry(Morus alba),a species known for its flood resistance,is cultivated worldwide for economic purposes.The transcriptomic analysis has identified numerous differentially expressed genes(DEGs)involved in submergence tolerance in mulberry plants.However,a comprehensive analyses of metabolite types and changes under flooding stress in mulberry remain unreported.A non-targeted metabolomic analysis utilizing liquid chromatographytandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)was conducted to further investigate the effects of flooding stress on mulberry.A total of 1,169 metabolites were identified,with 331 differentially accumulated metabolites(DAMs)exhibiting up-regulation in response to flooding stress and 314 displaying down-regulation.Pathway enrichment analysis identified significant modifications in many metabolic pathways due to flooding stress,including amino acid biosynthesis and metabolism and flavonoid biosynthesis.DAMs and DEGs are significantly enriched in the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways for amino acid,phenylpropanoid and flavonoid synthesis.Furthermore,metabolites such as methyl jasmonate,sucrose,and D-mannose 6-phosphate accumulated in mulberry leaves post-flooding stress.Therefore,genes and metabolites associated with these KEGG pathways are likely to exert a significant influence on mulberry flood tolerance.This study makes a substantial contribution to the comprehension of the underlying mechanisms implicated in the adaptation of mulberry plants to submergence.

Effect of CeO_(2) nanoparticle sizes on catalytic performances of sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst in NH_(3)-SCR reaction

The sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalysts with different sizes of CeO_(2)nanoparticles were prepared by using pure H_2O or acetic acid solution as impregnation solvent, and the influence of sizes of CeO_(2) nanoparticles on the catalytic performances of the sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst was studied. The catalytic performance tests show that the sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst using acetic acid solution as impregnation solvent has better catalytic activity and the resistance to K+poisoning than the sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst using pure H_(2)O as impregnation solvent. The excellent catalytic performances can be ascribed to the smaller sizes of CeO_(2) nanoparticles in CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst using acetic acid solution, which results in larger amount of adsorbed sulfate species, surface acid sites, surface active oxygen species and excellent redox property. These features are helpful for improving the catalytic performances of sulfated CeO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst using smaller amount of CeO_(2) to cut the costs.

Particle Swarm Optimization Bat Algorithm Path Automatically Planning Research for Police Drones in Hilly Cities

Mountain cities are complex asymmetric dynamic network architectures,and the flight of UAVs in this environment is subject to various constraints,while efficiency is a crucial factor in the trajectory planning of police UAVs,which need to maintain high efficiency and safe flight paths between their starting and ending points,but the traditional trajectory planning method cannot meet the requirements of rapid maneuvering of police UAVs.To achieve this,a 3D terrain map is built,an objective function is established for the flight cost in the UAV trajectory planning process,and a planning algorithm called particle swarm optimization bat algorithm(PSOBA)is proposed.PSOBA combines the characteristics of the bat algorithm(BA)and the particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO)to improve population diversity and resolve the delayed convergence issue in the last phases of BA.Simulation results show that PSOBA is more effective than BA,with a search time for the best solution that is approximately 20.43%shorter and a convergence value of the objective function that is approximately 38%smaller.PSOBA is also able to plan a quicker,shorter,and safer flight path compared to other trail planning algorithms that enhance the bat algorithm.These findings suggest that PSOBA is a powerful algorithm with potential application value in UAV trajectory planning control in the mobile intelligence era.Contribute to the service of public social security.

Deactivation induced by metal sulfate over MnCeOx catalyst in NH_(3)-SCR reaction at low temperature

Sulfate adsorption is one of the factors that cause the poisoning of catalyst in the low-temperature NH_(3) selective catalytic reduction reaction(NH_(3)-SCR).In this paper,by controlling the co-adsorption time of SO_(2) and O_(2) at 150℃,a range of sulfated MnCeOx catalysts with different contents of metal sulfate species were prepared to reveal the influence of metal sulfate species content on the catalytic performances and reaction mechanisms at low temperature.The catalytic activity below 250℃rapidly decreases with increasing metal sulfate species content.The results of characterizations shed light on the reduction of specific surface area,Mn^(4+)and Ce^(3+)content,and redox ability of MnCeOx owing to the formation of metal sulfate species.Further experiments reveal that metal sulfate species preferentially absorb on MnOx domains rather than on CeO_(2) domains,and the adsorbed metal sulfate species can suppress the Eley-Rideal and the Langmuir-Hinshelwood reaction mechanisms over the sulfated MnCeOx.All the above results are detrimental to the activity of sulfated MnCeOx in the low-temperature NH3-SCR reaction.

Eureka lemon zinc finger protein ClDOF3.4 interacts with citrus yellow vein clearing virus coat protein to inhibit viral infection

Citrus yellow vein clearing virus(CYVCV)is a new citrus virus that has become an important factor restricting the development of China’s citrus industry,and the CYVCV coat protein(CP)is associated with viral pathogenicity.In this study,the Eureka lemon zinc finger protein(ZFP)ClDOF3.4 was shown to interact with CYVCV CP in vivo and in vitro.Transient expression of ClDOF3.4 in Eureka lemon induced the expression of salicylic acid(SA)-related and hypersensitive response marker genes,and triggered a reactive oxygen species burst,ion leakage necrosis,and the accumulation of free SA.Furthermore,the CYVCV titer in ClDOF3.4 transgenic Eureka lemon plants was approximately 69.4%that in control plants 6 mon after inoculation,with only mild leaf chlorotic spots observed in those transgenic plants.Taken together,the results indicate that ClDOF3.4 not only interacts with CP but also induces an immune response in Eureka lemon by inducing the SA pathways.This is the first report that ZFP is involved in the immune response of a citrus viral disease,which provides a basis for further study of the molecular mechanism of CYVCV infection.

Bifunctional Silicon Quantum Dots for Antibacterial Application and Highly Sensitive Detection of Tetracycline

Silicon quantum dots(SiQDs)with high water-soluble and favorable photostability were prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method.The average diameter of SiQDs was 2.02 nm characterized by transmission electron microscope.It was to be noted that the as-prepared SiQDs showed eff ective antibacterial activity,which was attributed to electrostatic interaction and the generation of reactive oxygen species.The minimum inhibitory concentration of SiQDs against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus was 0.45 mg/mL and 0.38 mg/mL,respectively.Besides,based on the static quenching eff ect-induced fluorescence quenching mechanism,the SiQDs exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity for detecting tetracyclines(TC).A good linear relationship was obtained between the fluorescence intensity of SiQDs and the concentration of tetracycline(TC)in the range of 0–0.08μmol/L(R^(2)=0.9993)with a detection limit of 0.0176μmol/L.Furthermore,the TC content in the honey samples was determined using the SiQDs.All the results suggest that the as-prepared SiQDs can be a potential fluorescent probe for application in antibacterial and analysis.

Simultaneous enhanced ammonia and nitrate removal from secondary effluent in constructed wetlands using a new manganese-containing substrate

Constructed wetlands(CWs)are widely used to treat secondary effluent.However,simultaneously removing ammonia(NH_(4)^(+)-N)and nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)–N)is challenging because of insufficient oxygen and carbon sources.In this study,a novel composite material(MPCM)comprising MnO2 and polycaprolactone was developed as a substrate for CWs to enhance the synchronous removal of NH_(4)^(+)–N and NO_(3)^(–)–N.The CWs with a higher MPCM content(H-CW),lower MPCM content(LCW),and controlled CW(C-CW)exhibited average NH_(4)^(+)–N removal efficiencies of 75.69%,70.49%,and 52.40%,respectively.The 15N isotope tracking technique showed that NH_(4)^(+)–N removal was attributed to anaerobic ammonia oxidation mediated by MnO2 reduction(Mnammox),which accounted for 17.16%–27.24%of the NH_(4)^(+)–N removal in the composite material layers(0–20 cm)of the H-CW and L-CW.The richness of ammonia oxidizers in the upper layers(40–50 cm)of the HCW and L-CW further facilitated NH_(4)^(+)–N removal.Moreover,the average total nitrogen(TN)removal efficiencies of the H-CW and L-CW were 1.99 and 1.59 times that of C-CW,respectively,owing to enhanced denitrification by MPCM.Furthermore,N2O emissions were reduced by 81.31%and 70.83%in the H-CW and L-CW,respectively.This study provides an effective approach for improving nitrogen removal and reducing N2O emissions during the treatment of secondary effluent by CWs.

Chemical characteristics of long-term acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry:A case study in Southwest China

The chemical composition of acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry in chongqing,China,from 2000 to 2020 were studied in this study.The regional acid rain intensity is affected jointly by the acid gas emissions and the neutralization of alkaline substances.The pH of precipitation experienced three stages of fluctuating decline,continuous improvement,and a slight correction.Precipitation pH showed inflection points in 2010,mainly due to the total control actions of SO_(2)and NO_(x)implemented in 2011.The total ion concentrations in rural areas and urban areas were 489.08μeq/L and 618.57μeq/L,respectively.The top four ions were SO_(4)^(2-),Ca^(2+),NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-),which accounted for more than 90%of the total ion concentration,indicating the anthropogenic effects.Before 2010,SO_(4)^(2-)fluctuated greatly while NO_(3)^(-)continued to rise;however,after 2010,both SO_(4)^(2-)and NO_(3)^(-)began to decline rapidly,with the rates of-12.03μeq/(L·year)and-4.11μeq/(L·year).Because the decline rate of SO_(4)^(2-)was 2.91 times that of NO_(3)^(-),the regional acid rain has changed from sulfuric acid rain to mixed sulfuric and nitric acid rain.The lake water is weakly acidic,with an average pH of 5.86,and the acidification frequency is 30.00%.Acidification of lake water is jointly affected by acid deposition and acid neutralization capacity of lake water.Acid deposition has a profound impact on water acidification,and nitrogen(N)deposition,especially reduced N deposition,should be the focus of future research.

By analyzing the influence of time and safety factors on the behavior strategies of vehicles on the road,a network game evolution model between drivers that considers the behavior strategies of the driving vehicle itself and its neighbors is constructed,and the competition relationship between different types of cars is studied.The influence of the proportion of driving vehicle types on the potential risk of the road is also discussed.This paper presents a guidance algorithm for vehicle dynamic behavior preference information.The correctness of the algorithm is verified by an example.Research shows:The choice of behavior strategies,such as speeding and lane changing,is related to the expected benefits of time,safety,and neighboring vehicle strategies,and the critical value of payable benefits is obtained.The higher the proportion of aggressive vehicles on the road,the greater the potential risk on the road.Whether there is a vehicle in the adjacent lane of the driving vehicle will affect the type of driving vehicle.Information guidance helps to stabilize the state of vehicles on the road,and the policy transition probability also helps stabilize the form of vehicles cars on the road.Still,information guidance has a more significant impact on the transition of vehicle types.Finally,the guidance strategy of managers is given when the road is smooth and congested.

Uncovering the coupling effect with energy-related carbon emissions and human development variety in Chinese provinces

Lessening energy-related carbon emissions has become a crucial measure to achieve Chinese carbon neutrality.This study is the first to construct a Difference in Carbon pressures-adjusted Human Development Index(DCHDI)model for the purpose of exploring the coupling effect between carbon emissions and human development variety from 2000 to 2019 in Chinese provinces.We demonstrate the following.(1)The total energy-related carbon footprint of 30 provinces in China reached 10.2 billion tons in 2019,with an average annual growth rate of 6.93% over the past two decades;and the provinces with the highest carbon emissions per capita are InnerMongolia,Ningxia,and Shanxi.(2)At the provincial level,we observed that the Human Development Index(HDI),which includes life expectancy,education,and income,has been rising,while Beijing,Shanghai,and Tianjin entered the super-high HDI level before 2008.(3)The entire coupling effect of 30 Chinese provinces has been broadly fortified in the last 20 years,but the growth rate of DCHDI values in 2011-2019 has slowed down compared with that in 2000-2010;the clustering phenomenon demonstrated that this discovery is associated with historical peaks in total carbon emissions.(4)The co-ordination degree of carbon emissions per capita and HDI was verified,and 96% of the data points were found in the range of super high coupling coordination degree.Overall,this study provides the government with worthwhile guidance for decision-making and carbon reduction strategies for other countries struggling to advance human sustainable development.
