Stratigraphic framework and sedimentary evolution during the Cryogenian-Ediacaran transition in northeastern Sichuan Basin,South China

The northeastern Sichuan area in the northern Yangtze margin has unique Ediacaran geological records,especially the Doushantuo Formation(DST),and become a hot research area in recent ***,the Cryogenian-Ediacaran(C-E)boundary has not been precisely identified,which restricts the in-depth study of geological information during this crucial transitional period and is unfavorable for a systematic and complete understanding of the Yangtze Block and even the global paleogeographic *** study conducted stratigraphy,sedimentology,and chronostratigraphy to establish the stratigraphic framework and sedimentary evolution of the C-E transition strata in northeastern *** results showed that the Ediacaran sediments,without the cap dolomite,unconformably overlaid the Cryogenian sediments in the studied *** Member II of the DST,characterized by 50-160 m of red-green sandstone(approximately equivalent to the original Chengkou“Guanyinya Formation”),directly overlaid the Cryogenian sediments and displayed a 623±2.3 Ma maximum depositional age from the detrital zircon U-Pb *** stratigraphic correlations indicate that the C-E transition strata in northeastern Sichuan had a consistent lithological association and sedimentary sequence characteristics but differed from the Three ***,the upper Nantuo massive glacial diamictites transition to the icebergs rafted lonestone-bearing mudstones at the top,then change upward to DST barrier coast *** proposed DST of the northeastern Sichuan Basin was divided into three lithostratigraphic members without the regional Member I cap dolomite:(i)Member II purple-red,gray-green sandstone strata,(ii)MemberⅢblack mudstone strata,and(iii)Member IV P-Mn bearing *** the C-E transition,the study area experienced(i)the global deglaciation stage in the terminal Marinoan glaciation and(ii)the filling-leveling up stage with clastic rocks in the early ***,the early Ediacaran

An ultra-deep TSV technique enabled by the dual catalysis-based electroless plating of combined barrier and seed layers

Silicon interposers embedded with ultra-deep through-silicon vias(TSVs)are in great demand for the heterogeneous integration and packaging of opto-electronic chiplets and microelectromechanical systems(MEMS)*** the cost-effective and reliable manufacturing of ultra-deep TSVs,the formation of continuous barrier and seed layers remains a crucial challenge to ***,we present a novel dual catalysis-based electroless plating(ELP)technique by tailoring polyimide(PI)liner surfaces to fabricate dense combined Ni barrier/seed layers in ultradeep *** additional to the conventional acid catalysis procedure,a prior catalytic step in an alkaline environment is proposed to hydrolyze the PI surface into a polyamide acid(PAA)interfacial layer,resulting in additional catalysts and the formation of a dense Ni layer that can function as both a barrier layer and a seed layer,particularly at the bottom of the deep *** with depths larger than 500μm and no voids are successfully fabricated in this *** fabrication process involves low costs and *** a fabricated 530-μm-deep TSV with a diameter of 70μm,the measured depletion capacitance and leakage current are approximately 1.3 pF and 1.7 pA at 20 V,respectively,indicating good electrical *** proposed fabrication strategy can provide a cost-effective and feasible solution to the challenge of manufacturing ultra-deep TSVs for modern 3D heterogeneous integration and packaging applications.

RKKY interaction in helical higher-order topological insulators

We theoretically investigate the Ruderman–Kittel–Kasuya–Yosida(RKKY) interaction in helical higher-order topological insulators(HOTIs), revealing distinct behaviors mediated by hinge and Dirac-type bulk carriers. Our findings show that hinge-mediated interactions consist of Heisenberg, Ising, and Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya(DM) terms, exhibiting a decay with impurity spacing z and oscillations with Fermi energy εF. These interactions demonstrate ferromagnetic behaviors for the Heisenberg and Ising terms and alternating behavior for the DM term. In contrast, bulk-mediated interactions include Heisenberg, twisted Ising, and DM terms, with a conventional cubic oscillating decay. This study highlights the nuanced interplay between hinge and bulk RKKY interactions in HOTIs, offering insights into designs of next-generation quantum devices based on HOTIs.

Unveiling the rolling texture variations ofα-Mg phases in a dual-phase Mg-Li alloy

LZ91 Mg-Li alloy plates with three types of initial texture were rolled by 70%reduction at both room temperature and 200℃to explore the rolling texture formation ofα-Mg *** results showed that the rolling texture is largely affected by the initial *** the samples exhibited two main texture components as RD-split double peaks texture and TD-split double peaks texture after large strain *** intensity of the two texture components was strongly influenced by the initial orientation and rolling *** twinning altered the large-split non-basal orientation to a near basal one at low rolling *** basal orientation induced by twinning is unstable,which finally transmitted to the RD-split *** strong TD-split texture formed due to slip-induced orientation transition from its initial *** competition between prismatic and basal slip determined the intensity and tilt angle of the TD-split *** increasing the rolling temperature,the TD-split texture component was enhanced in all three *** of extension twinning behavior and the promotion of prismatic slip at elevated temperature are the main reasons for the difference in hot and cold rolling texture.

Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles encapsulated in graphitized and inplane porous carbon nanocages derived from emulsified asphalt for a high-performance lithium-ion battery anode

In this work,C@Fe_(3)O_(4) composites were prepared through a typical template method with emulsified asphalt as carbon source,ammonium ferric citrate as transition metal oxide precursor,and NaCl as *** an anode for lithium-ion batteries,the optimized C@Fe_(3)O_(4)-1:2 composite exhibits an excellent reversible capacity of 856.6 mA·h·g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 0.1A·g^(-1)and a high capacity of 531.1mA·h·g^(-1)after 300 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1),much better than those of bulk carbon/Fe_(3)O_(4) prepared without *** remarkable cycling performance mainly benefits from its well-designed structure:Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles generated from ammonium ferric citrate during pyrolysis are homogenously encapsulated in graphitized and in-plane porous carbon nanocages derived from petroleum *** carbon nanocages not only improve the conductivity of Fe_(3)O_(4),but also suppress the volume expansion of FesO4 effectively during the charge discharge cycle,thus delivering a robust electrochemical *** work realizes the high value-added utilization of low-cost petroleum asphalt,and can be extended to application of other transition-metal oxides-based anodes.

Mitogenome-based phylogeny of mosquitoes(Diptera:Culicidae)

Mosquitoes are of great medical significance as vectors of many deadly *** have been widely used in phylogenetic studies,but mitogenome knowledge within the family Culicidae is limited,and Culicidae phylogeny is far from *** this study,we surveyed the mitogenomes of 149 Culicidae species,including 7 newly sequenced *** analysis of 149 mosquito mitogenomes shows gene composition and order to be identical to that of an ancestral insect,and the AT bias,length variation,and codon usage are all consistent with that of other reported Dipteran *** analyses based on the DNA sequences of the 13 protein-coding genes from the 149 species robustly support the monophyly of the subfamily Anophelinae and the tribes Aedini,Culicini,Mansonini,Sabethini,and *** resolve ambiguous relationships between clades within the subfamily Culicinae,we performed topological tests and show that Aedini is a sister to Culicini and that Uranotaenini is a sister to(Mansonini)+(Toxorhynchitini+Sabethini).In addition,we estimated divergence times using a Bayesian relaxation clock based on the sequence data and 3 fossil calibration *** results show mosquitoes diverged during the Early Jurassic with massive Culicinae radiations during the Cretaceous,coincident with the emergence of angiosperms and the burst of mammals and ***,this study,which uses the largest number of Culicidae mitogenomes sequenced to date,comprehensively reveals the mitogenome characteristics and mitogenome-based phylogeny and divergence times of Culicidae,providing information for further studies on the mitogenome,phylogeny,evolution,and taxonomic revision of Culicidae.

Half-metallic ferromagneticWeyl fermions related to dynamic correlations in the zinc-blende compound VAs

The realization of 100%polarized topologicalWeyl fermions in half-metallic ferromagnets is of particular importance for fundamental research and spintronic ***,we theoretically investigate the electronic and topological properties of the zinc-blende compound VAs,which was deemed as a half-metallic ferromagnet related to dynamic *** on the combination of density functional theory and dynamical mean field theory,we uncover that the half-metallic ferromagnet VAs exhibits attractive Weyl semimetallic behaviors which are very close to the Fermi level in the DFT+U regime with effect U values ranging from 1.5 eV to 2.5 ***,we also investigate the magnetization-dependent topological properties;the results show that the change of magnetization directions only slightly affects the positions of Weyl points,which is attributed to the weak spin–orbital coupling *** topological surface states of VAs projected on semi-infinite(001)and(111)surfaces are *** Fermi arcs of all Weyl points are clearly visible on the projected Fermi *** findings suggest that VAs is a fully spin-polarized Weyl semimetal with many-body correlated effects in the effective U values range from 1.5 eV to 2.5 eV.

Practical Prescribed Time Tracking Control With Bounded Time-Varying Gain Under Non-Vanishing Uncertainties

This paper investigates the prescribed-time control(PTC) problem for a class of strict-feedback systems subject to non-vanishing uncertainties. The coexistence of mismatched uncertainties and non-vanishing disturbances makes PTC synthesis nontrivial. In this work, a control method that does not involve infinite time-varying gain is proposed, leading to a practical and global prescribed time tracking control solution for the strict-feedback systems, in spite of both the mismatched and nonvanishing uncertainties. Different from methods based on control switching to avoid the issue of infinite control gain that involves control discontinuity at the switching point, in our method a softening unit is exclusively included to ensure the continuity of the control action. Furthermore, in contrast to most existing prescribed-time control works where the control scheme is only valid on a finite time interval, in this work, the proposed control scheme is valid on the entire time interval. In addition, the prior information on the upper or lower bound of gi is not in need,enlarging the applicability of the proposed method. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

An object detection approach with residual feature fusion and second-order term attention mechanism

Automatically detecting and locating remote occlusion small objects from the images of complex traffic environments is a valuable and challenging *** the boundary box location is not sufficiently accurate and it is difficult to distinguish overlapping and occluded objects,the authors propose a network model with a second-order term attention mechanism and occlusion ***,the backbone network is built on *** a method is designed for the feature extraction network based on an item-wise attention mechanism,which uses the filtered weighted feature vector to replace the original residual fusion and adds a second-order term to reduce the information loss in the process of fusion and accelerate the convergence of the ***,an objected occlusion regression loss function is studied to reduce the problems of missed detections caused by dense *** experimental results demonstrate that the authors’method achieved state-of-the-art performance without reducing the detection *** mAP@.5 of the method is 85.8%on the Foggy_cityscapes dataset and the mAP@.5 of the method is 97.8%on the KITTI dataset.

Quantitative assessment of the supply,demand and flows of ecosystem services in the Yangtze River Basin,China

Ecosystem service flow is essential for transporting,transforming,and maintaining ecosystem services and connecting supply and *** study attempted to quantitatively assess the supply and demand flows of ecosystem services in the Yangtze River Basin in 2000,2010,and 2020;assess the evolution of the spatial patterns of ecosystem service flow at the provincial,watershed and urban agglomeration scales;and design a zoning standard for ecosystem service *** results showed as follows.1)Between 2000 and 2020,the Yangtze River had a progressive drop in its freshwater supply,water conservation service and carbon sequestration service *** decline rates for these services were measured at 10.90%,11.11%,and 5.17%,*** climate regulation service flow exhibited a pattern of initial fall followed by a subsequent increase,characterized by a decline rate of 35.53%.2)The lowest was the ecosystem service flow in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Yangtze River Delta urban *** supply service flow and water conservation service flow were the highest in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the Chengdu-chongqing urban *** sequestration service flow and climate regulation service flow were the highest in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River Basin and the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.3)From 2000 to 2020,the change ratios of the area proportion of the confluence,flow,and outflow areas in the Yangtze River Basin were 1.06,3.17,and 0.86,*** results of this research could offer decision support for regulating ecosystem services in the Yangtze River Basin,promoting sustainable regional development and achieving rational use of the basin resources.
