Clinical Application of Preliminary Breast Cancer Screening for Dense Breasts Using Real-Time AI-Powered Ultrasound with Deep-Learning Computer Vision

Objective:We propose a solution that is backed by cloud computing,combines a series of AI neural networks of computer vision;is capable of detecting,highlighting,and locating breast lesions from a live ultrasound video feed,provides BI-RADS categorizations;and has reliable sensitivity and *** deep-learning models were trained on more than 300,000 breast ultrasound images to achieve object detection and regions of interest *** main objective of this study was to determine whether the performance of our Al-powered solution was comparable to that of ultrasound ***:The noninferiority evaluation was conducted by comparing the examination results of the same screening women between our AI-powered solution and ultrasound radiologists with over 10 years of *** study lasted for one and a half years and was carried out in the Duanzhou District Women and Children's Hospital,Zhaoqing,China.1,133 females between 20 and 70 years old were selected through convenience ***:The accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value were 93.03%,94.90%,90.71%,92.68%,and 93.48%,*** area under the curve(AUC)for all positives was 0.91569 and the AUC for all negatives was *** comparison indicated that the overall performance of the AI system was comparable to that of ultrasound ***:This innovative AI-powered ultrasound solution is cost-effective and user-friendly,and could be applied to massive breast cancer screening.

Exploring the“composition-microstructure-property”relationship is a long-standing theme in materials ***,complex interactions make this area of research *** on the image processing and machine learning techniques,this paper proposes a multimodal fusion learning framework that comprehensively considers both composition and microstructure in prediction of the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of Al-Si ***,the composition and image information are collected from the literature and supplementary experi-ments,followed by the image segmentation and quantitative analysis of eutectic Si ***,the quantitative analysis results are combined with other features for three-step feature screening,and 12 key features are ***,four machine-learning models(i.e.,decision tree,random forest,adaptive boosting,and extreme gradient boosting[XGBoost])are used to predict the UTS of Al-Si *** results show that the quantitative analysis method proposed in this paper is superior to Image-Pro Plus(IPP)software in some *** XGBoost model has the best prediction performance with R^(2)=***,five mixed features and their critical values that significantly affect UTS are *** study provides enlightenment for the prediction of UTS of Al-Si alloys from composition and microstructure,and would be applicable to other alloys.

The Mg-Sn alloys,with basal or prismatic Mg2Sn laths,were employed to reveal the effect of precipitate orientation on twinning behavior *** Mg-5wt.%Sn alloys with basal or prismatic Mg2Sn were compressed to study the twinning ***,an Orowan strengthening model was developed to quantitatively investigate the critical resolved shear stress(CRSS)inc.ement of precipitates on *** results revealed that the prismatic precipitates hindered the transfer and growth of tensile twins more effectively compared with the basal *** decreased proportion of tensile twins containing prismatic Mg2Sn might be attributed to a larger CRSS inc.ement for tensile twins compared with that for basal *** obvious decreased twinning transfer in the alloy with prismatic Mg2Sn could be due to its higher geometrically necessary dislocation and enhanced CRSS of tensile ***,the prismatic precipitates have a better hindering effect on tensile twins during compression.

The Contribution of Vocal Music Education in Colleges and Universities to Cultural Inheritance and Innovation

The importance of education and cultural inheritance is becoming inc.easingly *** literature review and empirical research,combining quantitative data and qualitative analysis,this paper assesses the teaching methods,curriculum,and student interest and participation in vocal music education in colleges and *** study found that vocal music education played a positive role in inc.easing students’participation in cultural activities,enhancing their identification with traditional music and improving their skills,despite problems such as inadequate teaching systems and homogenized *** particular,the participation rate of students in cultural activities before and after the educational changes inc.eased significantly from 31–54.7%to 62.4–83.6%,indicating that vocal music education can effectively stimulate students’enthusiasm for cultural *** addition,the strengthening of the teaching staff and innovations in teaching methods,such as the application of multimedia and virtual reality technologies,provide students with richer learning experiences and personalized learning paths.

To improve the oxidation resistance of short carbon fiber(C_(sf))-reinforced mechanically alloyed SiBCN(MA-SiBCN)(C_(sf)/MA-SiBCN)composites,dense amorphous C_(sf)/SiBCN composites containing both MA-SiBCN and polymer-derived ceramics SiBCN(PDCs-SiBCN)were prepared by repeated polymer infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP)of layered C_(sf)/MA-SiBCN composites at 1100℃,and the oxidation behavior and damage mechanism of the as-prepared C_(sf)/SiBCN at 1300–1600℃ were compared and discussed with those of C_(sf)/*** C_(sf)/MA-SiBCN composites resist oxidation attack up to 1400℃ but fail at 1500℃ due to the collapse of the porous framework,while the PIP-densified C_(sf)/SiBCN composites are resistant to static air up to 1600℃.During oxidation,oxygen diffuses through preexisting pores and the pores left by oxidation of carbon fibers and pyrolytic carbon(PyC)to the interior of the *** to the oxidative coupling effect of the MA-SiBCN and PDCs-SiBCN matrices,a relatively continuous and dense oxide layer is formed on the sample surface,and the interfacial region between the oxide layer and the matrix of the as-prepared composite contains an amorphous glassy structure mainly consisting of Si and O and an inc.mpletely oxidized but partially crystallized matrix,which is primarily responsible for improving the oxidation resistance.

Along with the constantly evolving functional microsystems toward more diversification,the more rigorous design deliberation of pursuing higher mass-loading of electrode materials and low-temperature fabrication compatibility have imposed unprecedented demand on integrable all-solid-state thin-film *** the classic thin-film intercalation cathode prepared by vacuum-based techniques inevitably encountered a post-annealing process,tape-casting technologies hold great merits both in terms of high-mass loading and low-temperature *** this work,a novel microbattery configura-tion is developed by the combination of traditional tape-casting thick electrodes and sputtered inorganic thin-film solid electrolytes(~3μm lithium phosphorus oxynitride).Enabled by physically pressed or vapor-deposited Li as an anode,solid-state batteries with tape-casted LiFePO_(4) electrodes exhibit outstanding cyclability and *** meet integration requirements,LiFePO4/LiPON/Si microbatteries were successfully fabricated at low temperatures and found to achieve a wide operating temperature *** novel configuration has good prospects in promoting the thin-film microbattery enabling a paradigm shift and satisfying diversified requirements.

Coal pillar mechanics of violent failure in U.S. Mines

This paper seeks to enhance the understanding that the horizontal stresses build up and release during coal pillar loading and unloading(post-failure) drawing upon three decades of observations, geomechanical monitoring and numerical modeling in bump-prone U.S. mines. The focus is on induced horizontal stress in mine pillars and surrounding strata as highly stressed pillars punch into the roof and floor, causing shear failure and buckling of strata; under stiff stratigraphic units of some western US mines, these events could be accompanied by violent failure of pillar cores. Pillar punching eventually results in tensile stresses at the base of the pillar, facilitating transition into the post-failure regime; this transition will be nonviolent if certain conditions are met, notably the presence of interbedded mudstones with low shear strength properties and proper mine designs for controlling seismicity and dynamic loads. The study clearly shows high confining stress build-up in coal pillars resulting in up to twice higher peak vertical stress and high strain energy accumulations in some western US mines in comparison with peak stresses predicted using common empirical pillar design methods. It is the unstable release of this strain energy that can cause significant damage resulting from pillar dilation and ground movements. These forces are much greater than the capacity of most common internal support systems, resulting in horizontal stressinduced roof falls locally, in mines under unremarkable far-field horizontal stress. Attention should be placed on pillar designs as inc.easing support density may prove to be ineffective. This mechanism is analyzed using field measurements and generic finite-difference stress analyses. The study confirms the higher load carrying capacity of confinement-controlled coal seams in comparison with structurally controlled coal seams.
