The technical breakthroughs and rapid developments in nanotechnologies enabling goods and products based on nanomaterials (NMs) has come to media and public attention as potentially one of the most significant technological advances of our time. Among these technical applications, nano-composite food packaging, which combines the NMs and conventional packaging, is at the forefront of applications in nanotechnologies, leading the whole industrial chain based on nanotechnologies with high speed development. Taking into account the status of the nano-composites applied in food packaging and present development trends, this review is focused on summarizing the basic applications of the nano-composites in food packaging as well as its risk assessment. The status summaries and the conclusions derived from this review are of benefit to manufacturers which produce the nano-composites used in food packaging, to general consumers and to governmental administration entities.

Objective： To comparatively analyze the difference in the expression of 54 transcription factors in the hypothalamus using protein chips following the medication of chinese drugs for Shen （肾）-tonification, Herba Epimedii, and Fructus Ligustri lucidi （FL） to aged rats. Methods： Wistar rats, aged 15 months of SPF grade, were randomized into three groups, three males and three females in each group. They were medicated with Herba Epimedii decoction （HED, 0.14 g/kg）, Fructus Ligustri lucidi decoction （FLD, 0.12 g/kg）, and distilled water, respectively, twice a day for 15 days. The rats were sacrificed at the morning of the 16th day 1 h after medication, and their hypothalamus was taken and made into homogenate under an ice-bath for detecting the expression of transcription factors with chip technique. Results： The expressions of signal transduction and transcription activation factor-6 （Stat-6） and androgen receptor （AR） were up-regulated, and those of pre-B transcription factor1 （Pbx-1）, stat-1 and AP-2 were down-regulated in both HED and FLD treated groups, but these changes occurred mainly in female rats in the former while mainly in males in the latter. Conclusions： chinese drugs for Shen-tonification could impact the expression of transcription factors in the hypothalamus of aged rats, dominantly on the neuro-endocrine factors responsible for the growth and development. The effects of drugs for tonifying Shen-yang and for tonifying Shen-yin are different, which is probably one of the pharmacological mechanisms of the Shen-tonifying drugs.

A Gram-negative, chromium（Ⅵ） tolerant and reductive strain CTS-325, isolated from a chinese chromate plant, was identified as Ochrobactrum anthropi based on its biochemical properties and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. It was able to tolerate up to 10 mmol/L Cr（Ⅵ） and completely reduce 1 mmol/L Cr（Ⅵ） to Cr（Ⅲ） within 48 h. When the strain CTS-325 was induced with Cr（Ⅵ）, a protein increased significantly in the whole cell proteins. Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry （LC-MS/MS） analysis revealed that this protein was a superoxide dismutase （SOD） homology. The measured superoxide dismutase activity was 2694 U/mg after three steps of purification. The SOD catalyzes the dismutation of the superoxide anion （O2^←） into hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. This protein is considered to be one of the most important anti-oxidative enzymes for O. anthropi as it allows the bacterium to survive high oxygen stress environments, such as the environment produced during the reduction process of Cr（Ⅵ）.

Nonylphenol ethoxylates(NPEOs) is a class of typical nonionic surfactant that are widely used in many sectors, including industrial, coatings and agrochemicals, etc. NPEOs and their metabolites could deteriorate biological organisms and ecological health. This motivated scholars to establish analytical methods for their determination. Supercritical fluid chromatography(SFC) is a novel analytical strategy for separation by adjusting the density and composition of a supercritical fluid. Due to the characteristics of high diffusion and low viscosity comparable to gas, similar density to liquid and good solubility, it makes SFC a good choice for the separation of NPEOs. In present study, an analytical method using ultra-high-performance supercritical fluid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry operated in positive mode was developed for the separation and analysis of NPEOs. Significant factors influencing SFC separation, such as column type, back pressure, column temperature, modifier composition, gradient elution, flow rate, make-up solvent, injection solvent and volume, were systematically tested. The analytical performance of the proposed methodology was evaluated. The experimental results confirmed that it is feasible to perform high-throughput detection of 38 NPEOs with different degrees of polymerization(Figure 1). The proposed strategy was expected to be a quick, cheap, easy, rugged, effective and safe method to for the determination of NPEOs.

Color plays a key role in product appearance and attractiveness to consumers. The application of color is the main purpose of many decorative cosmetics, which normally contain mixtures of multiple coloring agents to provide the desired colors. Despite the widespread and frequent usage of synthetic dyes, they have been associated with adverse effects on human health. In the context of a dramatically growing market for color cosmetics, there is an urgent need for high-throughput protocols capable of detecting multi-class analytes in one single run to satisfy the increasing demand of quality control. This study aims to develop a comprehensive methodology for the simultaneous screening of 66 coloring agents in cosmetics using micro-matrix solid-phase dispersion(MSPD) followed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography(UHPLC) hyphenated with quadrupole-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry(Q-Orbitrap HRMS). A broad selection of 66 synthetic cosmetics dyes of great concern for regulatory control was considered, covering azo-enol, naphthylhydrazine, anthraquinone, triphenylmethanium, xanthene, fluoran, quinoline, phenylhydrazine, and imino-naphthalenone chemical structures. For the comprehensive screening of 66 coloring agents in cosmetics, a self-built accurate-mass database and a customized mass spectral library were employed. A custom-made accurate-mass database was constructed by inputting a variety of information on the 66 coloring agents including compound name, chemical formula, retention time, ionization polarity, exact m/z of precursor and product ions, and collision energy using the TraceFinder version 4.1 software supplied with the instrument. In addition to the accurate-mass database, a mass spectral library was built by importing the acquired mass spectra containing both precursor ions and all characteristic fragment ions for the 66 target compounds using an mzVault version 1.0 software supplied with the instrument. Food,especially animal origin food is the main source of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs),and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(dl-PCBs)for human ***,a simple,rapid and cheap bioassay method is needed for determination of dioxins in food *** this study,we used a new highly sensitive reporter cell line to determine the concentration of dioxins in 33 fish and seafood *** samples were extracted by shaking with water/isopropanol(1:1 v/v)and hexane and cleaned-up by a multi layered silica gel column and an alumina column,then analyzed using CBG 2.8 D cell *** compared the results obtained from the CBG 2.8 D cell assay to those obtained from conventional High-Resolution Gas Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry(HRGC-HRMS)*** correlations were observed between these two methods(r^2=0.93).While the slope of regression line was 1.76,the bioanalytical equivalent(BEQ)values were 1.76 folds higher than WHO-TEQ values and the conversion coefficient was 0.568(the reciprocal of 1.76).In conclusion,CBG 2.8 D cell assay was an applicable method to determine dioxins levels in fish and sea food samples.
